People like Shane and the 'psychic' twins remind me the world can be a horrible, manipulative, insincere place that will never stop trying to use you to its own advantage. No wonder Dan and Phil stick together if their YouTube 'friends' are going to publicly gossip/speculate about their private lives, profit off of/ influence members of their audience, and try to blackmail them into interacting. I hope Phil unfollows Shane too and that they don't address this at all or interact with them in any way, even though people are inevitably going to spam them with comments in their liveshows. It feels like this is quickly becoming an Onision situation. It's sad because back in the day they both admired, respected and were even inspired by Shane, and where is he now? Desperately trying to stay relevant by scraping the very bottom of the barrel and attracting the attention of THEIR fans, threatening to OUT them. Shane can go fuck himself.

Shane used to be fairly respectful to Dan and Phil, always saying that they're sweet and that he loves them when brought up. I'm guessing he had more views back then. It's certainly no secret that Dan and Phil have a very present online following and they have been exploited for views time and time again, like putting pictures of them in the thumbnail. Was it last summer that Dan called out Onision for using them for views? People were furious about that, and still it happens all the time with no end in sight

Shane's theory of them "just fucking with us" honestly makes no sense to me. If they weren't in a relationship but wanted us to think they were, they would do more to lead us the that conclusion, and joke about it more. They wouldn't have deleted everything from 2009/2010, they would have kept it all up as proof. They would make more jokes about "phan" and would be purposefully flirting and all that. Clearly if they are fucking with us, they're doing a really bad job at it.

I also don't think Shane really believes that, rather he's just saying it to cover his arse/ people don't take it seriously. He probably doesn't actually want to out them or seems as if he is (as a bisexual he should know how shitty that would be). And if he thinks its all a big joke, it should be okay to talk about yeah? Not take so seriously and not want to really mention. He is also making it seem like this is all a new thing? Like honey, this news is almost 8 years old at this point

I do like Shane and watch his videos but this has me right pissed off. If I was d&p, I would be proper offended that he took no real research or evidence, and just jumped to the conclusion that my relationship (of 7 years!) was fake and we were actually just awful people pretending.

Yeah, reminds me of the way I've just been treated, fired without warning of a problem after lip-service platitudes were paid to concerns I had and not even on time, but after the initial probation date and as soon as I was on leave so they had me there to do the work for them. Shame is clearly taking notes from Keemstars "if you're innocent you'll come on the programme to defend yourself!" strategy of trying to basically almost blackmail people to come on the show. Because they've ignored him he'll just keep chatting crap until either they do (very unlikely) or Phil sends the angry DM to end all angry DMs (won't happen, he knows Shane would just screenshot it and make a video) or most likely they'll just go down the Winchester for a plate of pancakes and wait for this to all blow over. anyhoo, I loved the mariokart video, Phils tshirt in the bomb disposal game gave me San Junipero vibes rather than Baywatch and I really need to see angry phil because I suspect he could out sass dan in a heartbeat if he got wound up enough.

Honestly, everyone keeps talking about when Dan and Phil are traveling back home, but at this point, it's been 2 weeks since Playlist. Open your eyes, sheeple! Dan and Phil have begun their retired life together in Florida. This is their forever home. That duplex in London? A hotel they had to stay at, because their lease ended earlier than planned.

Shane is and has always been a total attention seeker. Of course he wouldn't have liked it if someone had done this to him when he was in the closet but he's never really cared about other people really. He had a complete meltdown when people started calling out his homophobia and racism, remember? He's the kind of person who likes to hit below the belt and doesn't really care about hurting others but gets really offended once it's done to him. I used to like him when I was younger but I haven't watched any of his videos in a long time. I really don't like the guy, there's something off about him. So it's no wonder to me that he keeps talking about phan that way. It gets him attention and that's what he loves most.

i feel the same way here. i still casually watch his videos sometimes if they pique my interest, (although at this point it's usually when they involve drew) but this has to stop and if i have to stop watching trashy conspiracy videos because he's an idiot i will.

if they find out, i hope they see it as the desperate floundering it is, phil unfollows and they go about their life. what i hope is that people don't mention it to them. either from our fandom or shane's, if someone makes a big deal about it someone is gonna address it, and that will give shane a reason to make yet another video. if it just dies calmly, hopefully, it can be over before it even starts.

i do really appreciate that drew didn't participate though. his persona is silly and he makes dumb jokes, but you can really tell he's a nice person and doesn't want to hurt anyone. i've noticed a lot of times around shane he puts his foot down or dials things back, and that's a sliver of a silver lining i guess.

Yeah I can defo see that lmao - it's quite sad really. I think Shane was the first youtuber I ever got into (his video "The love game" was amazing, and I still love SuperLuv tbh) but when he released his movie and book etc I felt like his content got... boring? It just all seems exactly the same to me, I don't know how many times I've been recommended "trying this random thing" from his channel.

IMO fair enough that he drags the vid a bit, I too was expecting a different kind of story the first time I clicked the thumbnail when I was new to Dan's channel.

I have no idea what the general opinion of Pewds is on here, but I like him despite that drama (he became a much more genuine guy in the past few years, and I really respect how honest he is with his audience). He takes the piss out of a lot of youtubers without going onto disrepectful (at least for the majority). Dan and Phil are friends with him and Marzia too, so his mentions of them clearly haven't offended either of them.

Seriously? Shane is having this discussion of other youtubers sexualities and private relationships and speculating on the fucking internet (with these Psychics? I don't know who they are but really?). This isn't some private discussion, this is on the internet and actually has an effect as it is open for the potential of millions to listen. Hell, we found it and are talking about it. That shit is not right, regardless of who they're talking about, it is not fair and not ok to try and 'out' them. They will do as they please, they are private people, it is their decisions if they want to talk about or 'come out' about what they are to each other/their sexualities.

They are 2 people with a lot of following, and I totally get the mystery and whatever behind them as a 'couple' etc BUT they are still human beings with emotions and feelings and they should not be made to feel a certain way because a youtuber just wants to know.

Sorry this kind of stuff really drives me up the wall. They are still people, if you ignore the fact that they're Dan and Phil, it applies to anybody. I don't understand what the fascination is with trying to 'out' people, and from what you guys have been saying about him being closeted and now bisexual(?) I was the one that mentioned Dan unfollowed Shane on twitter, though it isn't known if he did that after Shane's video. Dan did unfollow multiple people in the same time period which I noticed because of the changed number of 'followed' (and then I discovered by accident that he didn't follow Shane anymore) though I don't know who else he unfollowed. Just to be clear that we don't really know the precise course of events in this.

I've nothing really more to add on the Shane (&psychic twins) front, I think Shane's best ignored most of the time though I despise the way he's handling this and seeking attention with this particular thing.
Now I'm off to watch the new video that I hadn't had time for yet.

I can't stand his conspiracy videos. Shane never gives all of the information and doesn't even try to debunk things.
