I had a good laugh while watching this video. It was so obvious that they were pretending to not know that it actually made everything even more hilarious to me. The Sims series has gone on so long that there aren't that many things left for them to do to keep the series entertaining, so I completely understand why they were trying to get Dil abducted. I don't really know if I'd like them to continue or finish the series because while the Sims videos are brilliant at best, it's starting to feel like D&P are unnecessarily dragging on the series.

It's been such an important part of things that whenever it ends it needs to have some kind of great emotional finale. Dil dies. Evan and Dab get married lol idk. But something

I was watching Anthony's video and I found this nice comment from Dan

I didn't mind the pretended ignorance about the pregnancy because it kind of felt like we were supposed to be in on the joke. I mean, they know that we know. So the whole bit felt like a "yeah guys we all know, lets just play along it'll be funnier nudge nudge wink wink" type thing.

I enjoyed it quite a lot, it was pretty dramatic. I'd love to see some more time spent on Dab and Evan though. I had friends like Dab when I was little, always inviting me over and then taking naps. 25ish years later I still resent them a little for not caring enough to play properly and I'm invested enough in this little world the guys built that I want to give Evan the vengeance I never had.

Aww, I really enjoyed this Sims video. The highlights for me were definitely the fire and the "playdate" (if it can even be called that, lol). The way Dan talked in his liveshow made me wonder if something else big was going to happen in the video besides the pregnancy (which was a given at that point), so I was genuinely worried that Tabitha would catch on fire or something. Thankfully not!

I've noticed that I tend to enjoy the videos where some big event (marriage, pregnancy, engagement, etc.) happen than the videos that fill the space in-between those events. This video was definitely one of those in-betweeners, so it wasn't super exciting for me, but it was still very cute. I'm looking forward to the big baby reveal - like someone else said, I lowkey hope it's a girl.

Dan's comment on Louise's video was cute. Dan said that he wants to have kids someday and the thought of Dan being a dad (don't you dare) is so adorable! And even cuter, Dan and Phil would raise the child together maybe even sometimes the child would cuddle their corgi and...... I'll just stop there.

Double posting, but I saw someone mention this on tumblr. Apparently on Twitter a few years back, people were talking about phan baby names and someone suggested "fyi i like vagina" and Dan replied to the tweet and said "totally no homo howell". I can't find the actual tweet, so is this true?

Hi! I'm actually the one you probably saw mention it on tumblr, as I sent an anon to nihilist-toothpaste about it . I actually have never been able to find the actual tweets on twitter myself, and first heard of the happening through the tumblr post that's gone around. However, I recently realized that in my search I only went as far back as 2014, when I believe this happened in 2013, So my only verification that the tweets are real are the people who have said so on tumblr. And the liveshow clip that exists where Dan does say that he loved the hashtag and added some of his own.

It definitely happened in 2013. I looked it up and the supposed date was November 24 2013.

Edit: Looking at the tumblr post, the tweet definitely seems real. I wonder why he deleted it though.

Maybe Phil visiting his family for a few days is actually one of Dan's birthday gifts? It's never quite clear when Dan talks about wanting/needing to be alone sometimes in order to re-charge his life energy and creative juices whether "alone" means not even Phil around or if he means alone in a social sense, like not going to see friends and generally interacting with society. Perhaps there's already a family event going on that justifies Phil being away, but I find it funny to imagine Phil taking it to heart and gave Dan exactly what he wished for—alone time! Would explain too why Phil neglected to mention in his last live show.

Anyone else wonder if D&P only share the jokey/ trinket/ non-flashy type gifts, but keep the more sentimental gifts private? (If they do exchange sentimental/ heartfelt type gifts that is) Or maybe they've been together for so long they don't try and do flashy or overly sentimental gifts so they're not trying to constantly one-up another—I think there must be some gifts they don't share during live show b-day hauls...

The sims video was fine, although I agree that it would have been more enjoyable if they'd been honest about deliberately aiming to get Dil pregnant with an alien baby. There's no way they didn't know that was possible, so their feigned ignorance was mildly annoying but not a huge deal. Still a cute vid overall!

Also Dan's comments on Louise's and Anthony's videos are really sweet

I was around at the time and remember it happening, they're definitely real! Dan actually deleted a whole bunch of tweets from 2013 and prior in a mass tweet-delete, so that may be why they're deleted.

I definitely think they only share more lighthearted/jokey gifts with us. I think it's likely the Colin shirt wasn't the only gift Dan's parents got him, and I'm sure he got more than the few trinkety things he showed in the liveshow. He probably just picks the less personal and/or expensive gifts to show off, as a way of maintaining some privacy - I feel like I'd probably do the same.

Thanks for confirming that! Shame they were deleted. Speaking of deleted tweets, how many tweets between Dan and Phil in 2009 are deleted? Are all of them gone?

The video was alright. Honestly I'm getting tired of the sims, but I will still watch them. I am glad that they are uploading I just wish we got more main channel videos.

I was equal parts amused/angry with them for the blatant lying. I can't really blame them for orchestrating this plot, I just didn't believe either of their acts. But then as the video went on it became obvious they weren't really trying to fool us (with the alien watermark thing).

The Sims has felt a bit off to me as well recently, (and short?), but I think droopy is right about "inbetween episodes" and the next one should be good. There were plenty of cute/funny moments. Dab firing the maid and being responsible with cleaning and Evan staying over late and chatting with Dil while doing his homework. Basically figuring out what the kids are capable of. And satisfactory is okay for dads!Dan and Phil. Yay.

Side note: I love when Dan uses this whiny shrill voice when he complains about Eliza, like his voice seems to almost always go up when talking about Eliza. Much leaning in from Phil, it was nice.

snokoplasmic nah, they played gorillas with distinct fringes and brows and weren't in enough episodes for merch. I have no idea where the shirt is from.

Phantasy I definitely think they don't share all their gifts (from each other, friends or family) with us, only what they are comfortable with.

I meant to say earlier that I'm willing to concede that the roll in the reflection might not be from an office chair, but I definitely don't think there is a bed headboard there. I see the white curve as a wall. Maybe their sofa has a similar head rest? Or club chairs? One of them said there were lots of grey chairs.

I don't generally dislike the sims series, but I have been a little bit bothered by how rushed and choppy they seem lately. There's so much fast forwarding and jumping around that it's hard to feel much investment in the game play. I understand the need to do it since they now have more characters to play and some of the mundane tasks lost their interest after a couple of times, but it does make me feel less invested in what is happening.

I really don't mind the fact that they lied about not knowing about the potential alien pregnancy, although I wonder why they feel like they need to pretend they don't plan ahead a bit. It makes sense to me that they want to make plans for the videos so that they know that when they put the time in to play the game, it will actually produce footage that is interesting enough for a video.

Same. I wasn't really bothered by the "lie" (or whatever you want to call it), but personally, I would've been even more invested in the alien baby storyline if they made it a goal upfront. Then it would've become us following them on their quest to obtain an alien baby, which is (imo) much more fun and interesting. Of course, I'm still excited about it, since the concept of an alien baby is fun regardless of how they present it, haha.

(And none of this really matters since the whole act of being surprised is over and done with, I just wanted to... throw this out into the void anyway.)

He did get unverified when he changed his name. That message is so heartfelt and empathic for another YT creator, I'd believe it's Dan.

You really articulated the vague feeling the latest sims vids have given me. And maybe I'm just not cool enough to understand the point of them pretending they didn't plan the pregnancy and then letting us know that we know they knew? But like Droopy said, it's over now and I'm sure the next sims will be good (too bad we probs have a long wait till after they're back from vidcon and maybe doing some youtubers react while they're in CA.)

Other random deppy thoughts since I can't sleep:

I don't get why Dan in one of Phil's 2012 live shows got into Phan denial mode and said something like: a lovechild would require procreation and I'm not down with that, and then in 2013 he joins in with the Phan baby names and even talked in one of his live shows about how long he joined in and how much fun he had? Along those lines of flip flopping on Phan, I just found out a few pages back that they've blacklisted the word "Phan" on their vid comments. Yet they sell those wristbands that say "phandom member" on them? Doesn't phandom imply Phan exists like kingdom implies a king exists? Seems weird they'll make money off the word phandom but wouldn't even call their Phan fictions that they wrote Phan fics, but rather fan fics. I'm not hating on them btw, so no one needs to rush to their defense, although I am interested in respectful, kindly worded opinions that might be less confused or differ from mine.

With Anthony leaving Smosh I got to thinking about whether Dan and Phil will ever disband DAPG or try to separate themselves professionally. I didnt follow smosh or Anthony and only really know of him thru deppy. I watched the leaving vids though and then some of Anthony's and have now followed him because of the ones I watched, one was hilarious and the other serious one was fantastic. This guy may give deppy a run for their money with me. Jk. The smosh and deppy situations are very different. But it got me thinking how enmeshed deppy are. Now that they don't have the radio show anymore it's kind of weird they're thought of as a unit. They don't even have any separate merch, so to me they're defo branding themselves as a double act. This makes me think even more strongly that Phan is real for some reason. Opinions?

Louise pregnancy: Stark contrast in how much she is willing to share of her life vs deppy, and pregnancy is even more risky to share bc of possible sad outcomes. Of course, she couldn't really hide it and continue on YouTube. That's one advantage deppy have if they ever have kids. There could even be a nursery already set up in their new apartment. Yet another reason for no apartment tour. But take heart, we will probs get to see the kitchen if they do Halloween baking. I'm hoping for an island and lovely countertops.
