-i agree that if i were that photogenic at 16 i wouldn't feel too weird about posting my ridiculous emo selfies, haha! although one benefit of learning one's ~myspace angles~ is that you also tended to learn your actual angles as well
-there was a massive contingent of emo/scene kids at my school, and if they got picked on it was for the lifestyle associations (sexuality, self-harm, OTT myspace pages) more than the fashion. the music was much more mainstream than any of us wanted to admit (at least where i lived) so no one was getting shit for wearing a my chem shirt after like, 2006 lmao. although once in 8th grade someone called me goth at a halloween dance for wearing a green day t-shirt i can't
-i'm honestly relieved on behalf of their neighbors for them having to soundproof their gaming room. rewatching old videos of theirs had me clutching my pearls when i realized how fucking exuberant they could be!
-i've no idea about any moving theories bc i'm behind af, last video i watched was the rat collab
-touching once more on anti-emo/scene sentiment, i know people who got in some shit for piercings/hair color (including me) from a very specific subset of adults (i.e. shitty, "traditional" ones) and of course the "you'll never get a job!!1!11" contingent (because obviously the one immutable facet of blue hair is that IT'S FOREVER rme) but for the most part, i think kids who gravitated towards that aesthetic were kind of weird already, and likely to be a bit on the fringes, so it's hard to tease out if they would have been left alone anyways. if that makes sense? also does anyone remember the ridiculous pop culture mentions of emo/scene stuff? there was this one scene in the tv show Bones that comes to mind, lord save us

I just love that the point that seemed most logical to you in this scenario is phil blocking out his baby's screams, not him protecting their neighbours.

Haha I was just on Dan's Younow page waiting for him to come online, and I think he was accidentally logged in to Phil's account because you can see who they're watching before they came online and it said Phil lester and then suddenly changed into Daniel howell

dan was probably like "uh the dweebs on idb are figuring out we're moving so let's throw them off somehow yeah" and then they decided on phil posting that picture with the sound tiles (they hadn't fallen off, they didn't even stick them on yet, they just bought them for the new house) and now dan is gonna look on idb again and be all sad that y'all are still tinhatting it. have some respect for their distraction efforts, will you.

since he linked the sound proof tiles directly to a complaint from the neighbours, i'd say it's safe to get on the moving train again
