I agree with all of this. As much as I'd love for them to be married/non-platonic life partners/whatever, I cringed when I saw this. I'm thinking the kid isn't aware of the boundary at all (and sadly for them, she's not alone)

I also wondered why they agreed too the pose, but I guess with the rapid pace of the M&Gs, it was easier to just comply and make faces than look oppositional (optics, ya know?). They're smart guys and I imagine they talked through as many random/bizarre/awkward scenarios as they could to be prepared. The faces they're making

This whole meet&greet left a bad taste in my mouth. Bet they are relieved to be almost finished.

I'm going to be optimistic and say that this pic won't encourage similar (or worse..) requests since the overwhelming reaction to it on Twitter was pretty negative and will hopefully make other people think twice about trying it. Good old public shaming. I do wonder though if they turn down requests (or just intentionally mangle them) if they're uncomfortable. I just feel bad looking at that picture for so many reasons and am thankful there's only a day left of this tour. I'd be so excited to get back to a life where people aren't touching and squishing my face for an hour a day, ugh.

Also his shirt makes me think of an armless straight jacket so there's that.

She trapesied across the boundary. I'm also curious on wtf was going on in their heads and why they didn't refuse. Heart eyes is one thing, a proposal is another. Analyzing their facial expressions they have their persona faces on so I'm sure they made light of an awkward ask but what in trying to wrap my head around is why they didn't refuse?? This doesn't exactly scream platonic bros in any sense and it's bothering me.

This! I really hope it doesn't encourages any more of this behavior.
This M&G made me much more aware (not like I wasn't before) of just how draining all of this must be for them.
Also, I'm feeling way more forgiving that they took the days off for themselves instead of doing a live show.
At least the USA leg of the tour is almost over, I'm excited about Mimei and Duncan being there, I feel like Deppy is going to have a great time at vidcon.

She didn't actually kiss him (not that it still isn't kinda cringe anyway). Idk if she asked him if they could do that pose or if she turned her head quickly without him knowing what was up.
With Dundan and Mimei being at vidcon, I wonder if D+P will spend more time with them rather than Cat or Louise.

I've heard stories from M&Gs where they've rejected poses in their signature indirect, "polite" way, such as pretending to misinterpret the request to fit their comfort zone or casually suggesting an alternative (kinda like the recent airport vid where the chick went in for a hug and Phil said "group hug" I'm still laughing). Yeah, I'm guessing it was much trickier to turn this one down and in the heat of the M&G moment, it was easier to play along.

If they haven't prepared responses to these sorts of uncomfortable scenarios yet, I'm sure that's on the agenda tonight (b4 post-show secks amirite?)

Definitely. Even if she didn't go in for the kiss, it must have looked like it from a distance, yet no one intervened.

As much as I'd love to give Dan a smoochy-smooch on that lil squishy cheek, I'd rather he consent than have him plant a "PLS STOP I AM VERY UNCOMFORTABLE" fist into my back.

What annoys me with m&g photos is the effort/attempt of those people to one up other people's m&g photos. What is wrong with "normal" photo? I know the m&g ticket is expensive but does it really make them entitled to cross boundaries? I mean D&P already talks and hugs them.

Posting my two cents:
1. The girl in the picture looks very young and she probably doesn't know the boundaries quite yet. I'm not saying that all younger fans don't know boundaries, some actions from older fans are sometimes crossing the boundaries.

2. This is a business. For example, you pay the cash in return take a picture and sign something of yours. Part of the meet and greet is to make their fans happy, happy fans bring in more revenue. Plus, these happy excited fans dropped a 100 or so each for a picture, signature and a mere fraction of their time. It would be off putting to the other fans in line to hear, "Oh sorry we can't do that." Plus happy fans bring in more revenue, this is a business obviously.

I mean the boys have turned down poses before but we're dwindling down to the last shows, maybe they're just rolling with it?

I'm utterly disgusted by that girl's behavior. Consent everyone! I also thought that was on the rules of guidelines of the M&G. As much as I also would love to plant one on Dan, there is something called consent.

I feel like most M & G's have been tame so far but this one, the whole Dan and Phil weird proposal picture and the non-consensual kissing of Dan.

I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, I felt like I passed judgement based on twitter replies but id rather see it for myself. Even so, she got really close to his neck area which is a part he hates people touching (except phil). It reminded me of when the fan licked Phil. I think some fans mistake DP with other celebs. I know the members of 1D like Harry will allow you to kiss them on the cheek but not everyone's the same so hopefully people recognize and respect that.

If it was actual kiss on the lips (which i was suspecting/guessing) would be kinda weird and off-putting at a meet and greet. Considering that many of the attendees are not of legal age. Don't want all the minors going crazy for, 'omg a kiss from danyul!!!'

I wanted to be good and not jugde her too soon but i was reading her twitter and i don't think she realizes just how uncomfortable she made Dan. Almost like she found it funny. Someone tweeted @ her something along the lines of how awkward the photo is and she replied 'how so?' .... srsly side eyeing this girl, and poor Dan.

There are two tweets from 2013 and it hasn't been used since? I've never heard of this until now, but does anyone know if it's actually his or not?

It's 100% his, I was already caught in their web when Dan claimed the Twitter and Tumblr (well actually someone gave him the Tumblr URL, they noticed it wasn't taken so they snatched it up and notified Dan asking if he wanted to have it) and it's the sole reason I roll my eyes at discussion about Dan dropping DINOF as a username. After three years of that I'm over the whole thing and I won't believe it until I see it :')

She also said on Twitter it was a "joke" (I'm a joke, it's a joke, everything's a joke) but I can't help to think that if this was switched (with Dan doing the pretend jokey kiss and her trying to look like he's avoiding as much physical contact as possible in the way he is) how it would have caused an uproar. I dunno, I guess we need to wait for the full video to come out as one photo doesn't always give context.

And well the proposal picture, I think it's safe to say Dans eyes are definitely not saying yes this time. In fact they're telling me he's well and truly done with shit like that
