Apropos of nothing, I'm even more convinced that him and Dan spent easter together with some part of the Lester family (grandma pic..). Still confused about the GoT chocolate dispersement though.

And maybe they're still 'in talks' about their future with R1 so can't really be too specific since they don't know yet. I always thought them going down to one show a month wasn't their decision in the first place (and R1 have regretted it since the rotating hosts didn't bring the same listener numbers/engagement), so maybe they'll go back to their 2hr format (call in requests etc) weekly...?
And put their damn names back in the friggin title.
Whatever's happening, I wonder if the other internet takeover hosts are pissed off about these developments (unless they're involved in future plans too ugh pls no). I'm just happy there's SOME more info to go on, and want to believe that 'D&P are still part of the BBC family' line..

People only saw Phil running to the station alone, right? Correct me if I'm wrong but nobody really saw him on the train so I feel like the most probable explanation is that Phil maybe forgot sth or was buying sth for the trip while Dan waited for the train or something similar. It seems like too much of a stretch to say that Dan was lonely and went up to Phil later just because of a couple of depressing tweets. I mean, if they can't handle being apart for a day or two we need to seriously consider labeling them codependent. And also, if Dan did take a train up north later than Phil, it could have been that he had some form of appointment or meeting that he couldn't skip.

And tbh, Dan could have an "existential crisis" over literally ANYthing (aka nothing at all) especially given his admitted social anxiety (and I say this with all due love and respect as a fellow INFJ) "oh my god, I don't have my ________" (insert necessary item like favorite straighteners, favorite pair of skinny jeans, etc) or "OMG ___________ is coming? Why didn't you tell me? What am I going to say to them? Especially since you told me about the time you two _____________?!" Soz, just sayin' could have been l-i-t-r-a-l-l-y nothing.

Missed the first part of the LS but glad I caught Phil's mention of wanting to see Hamilton while in New York. Now both have confirmed their desire to see the show and I really just want to hear their opinions.

And Phil, tickets are sold out but not if you're willing to pay resale... Which is what I did plus the cost of hotel and airfare. Yes, I am just a bit Hamilton obsessed.

Sounds as if he's getting it done under local anaesthetic, not GA. Certainly up my way, dentists are not allowed to administer GAs anymore - if you need to be put to sleep, you have to go to hospital.

Even without GA he'd be on some painkillers after it was removed I think? I haven't had mine out so I don't actually know how it works

PS Very happy that are not leaving the radio completely, though from what I understood, there are no certain radio plans for D&P yet. So bbc may be lying not to piss off the fans. I have trouble catching up with all the pages, but I found co-dependency discussion very informative. And the discussion on which traits initially drew D&P to each other, I agree with many posters. Miss thanks button a lot, that's how I used to participate in the forum on the gg most of the time.

A little off topic - do you think dan and phil read GG/IDB on a regular basis?

LOL, Probably more the biggest PHANgirl. He's got 43 Million+ subscribers and 11.6 Billion views, so views from our humble little phandom are probably chump change to him.

Conspiracy theory: maybe as their biggest phangirl he's trying to increase their viewers/subscribers (and eventually encourage them to come out publicly)

I did, under local, and without going into the gory details, it... didn't entirely go to plan, and I was sent home with instructions to pick something up over the counter for pain relief when the local "wore off" - which was a joke in and of itself. - for that reason, I am not going to shame anyone who wants company going to the dentist, adult or not!!

I'm convinced that they just have catching-up sessions when they have downtime, especially after seeing that gif of Dan "laser-ing Zoella's face off" on his computer. They're aware of literally every rumor, I'm sure of it.

I don't think they read here. Maybe Dan read GG from time to time but he won't know about this place. Their management company might have people who lurk for information and to see what's popular but I don't even think they would know about it. Not unless they post on GG and they're one of the people we have pm'd with the link to this place. Tbh we will never know, if they do lurk then I would hope they'll realise this community is much nicer than the links to GG.

As for Felix's fangirling,I think he just enjoys poking fun at the dedication of the Phandom because he can. I think he gets Dan and Phil's sense of humor and knows that they would just find it funny.

Doesn't your heart bleed for them dealing with the glitter-splosion they brought on themselves? I found some in my hair about half an hour ago. Washed it twice since I made my glitter Sans/Napsterblook/Papyrus on Friday, yet still...! (and yes, I did get quizzical looks from nurses when they were changing my suddenly-sparkly IV line and assorted other stickers/plasters etc... - I also have silver glitter nails now though, which is what it was brought in for, but still!)

About them finding IDB, exactly what you said! I don't think it would be that difficult for them to find it. And wasn't there some speculations saying that one poster on GG might be Dan? Because of what they posted and their style of writing, plus some very precise informations? I read about that somewhere on tumblr I think.

I can't think of why Felix puts them a lot in his videos these last few days, but I enjoy it a lot ngl.

(I underwent local also to extract a wisdom tooth and had the same experience-just extraordinary pain until I could fill the prescrip they gave me. This is in the U.S and no funny loopy moments for me, just me taking ten minutes to sit in the lobby and cry because the pressure and pain building in my head was so excruciating I could hardly concentrate on where I was going. I'm glad at least Dan's having a wonderful time when he goes...)

No, but really, there's such a wide range of discussions (or in depth bants one might even say) that I could see them reading through for purely the entertainment of it or wondering what else viewers are saying apart from the comments they already see on their social media accounts- Either to get a better idea of the diversty of their audience, read more involved constructive critiscm and to gauge the impact their history and videos has managed to have over time. I'm sure they have their own private accounts to get a better 'insider' view of the talk around town and if it's true they had one for forum 'you know who' then they're probably aware of this one by now too.

Phil in particular strikes me as a detail oriented personality/organized when it comes to his ideas and plans, like how he had a folder of color coded property information when they were apartment hunting or how Dan once said Phil took care of the gaming setup, not to say Dan isn't detail oriented when it comes to planning for his videos as well, he;s made it clear he cares a great deal about quality and agonizes sometimes over what to do next, but I could see Phil having an invested interest in understanding just what aspects of his videos are resonating with people or not, to keep it in mind while still keeping true to his expectations for his channel so it can evolve into something he wants to do and knows people already want to see.

My take on the existential tweets/high school reunion dram is that while at that little reunion with Phil's friends, it hit Dan how different his life was to all these people.
And we have to remember he is the envious type, he will compare himself to others and be jealous of what they have and feel down about himself.
Idk who these people are but I can assume they have more "normal" and common (and respected) jobs than being a youtuber. If we go by Phil's best friend Ian, maybe most of them were married, with children, with a stable job, maybe a house etc. and it hit Dan that he wasn't at all at the same stage of his life. And that is not to say, he hasn't done incredibly well for himself because he has, I am pretty sure professionally he was one if not the most successful there. I am also sure that thinking about it more thoroughly, he wouldn't like that life and what these people have, but the knee-jerk reaction is envy and feeling a bit down.

The thing with like "following your dreams" or having alternative lifestyles/jobs etc. is that we do it because it is what will make us the most happy/satisfied with our lives, but there is always this social pressure to have all the commonly acceptable and desired things. There is a social recognition and gratification for the people who have all those things (family, house, stable job etc.) and I think Dan really craves that recognition but doesn't necessarily want all of the rest (or at least not now) which make for a nice existential crisis.

Maybe the fact of not being out (ignore this part if you don't believe in phan) also hit him. We can assume they behaved like a couple, were seen as a couple there by their friends. then the thought of going back to his normal life where they pretend they're best buds might have made him feel existentially too.

Yes to all of that! I hadn't thought it that way at all and really makes sense in light of Dan's personality. I think maybe even the smaller projects or personal goals achieved by Phil's friends could have triggered it, in a youtube is my job and yet I can't even put out a video I'm proud of, look at them.

Slightly related to how they interact with other non-youtube folk, remember the Sunday Times article mention on that?

They work well together, generating a bouncy positivity that makes it hard not to smile around them, but it is difficult to believe we are all about the same age. Spending most of that past decade on YouTube has given them a Peter Pan-like quality; they come across as a pair of overgrown teenagers.

This has always intrigued me. I've always assumed it them "on persona" so to say, acting like they would in videos or fan meetings. If not, how do they act around 'normal' people? Do we have enough evidence that this is an anomaly for the reporter?

I can see the stark difference in Phil's friends life and especially persona to theirs, which may have caused some serious self-esteem issues, projection but I think we've all been in a situation where we're so different to everyone else there's a small moment of alienation and dread. I'm sure they act normally around Bryony and Wirrow, but I guess the question is what's their normal.

Since they moved to London together, it'd make a certain amount of sense if they were registered with the same GP/Dentist etc. Going for a check-up with both would be common sense prior to the tour too (in fact, I bet it's part and parcel of it, if not demanded by something businessy/insurance related) and the ear molds were definitely tour-related, so makes sense they'd go together.

RE: Sunday Times article - I keep hearing things about it, and that it wasn't the, ummm... friendliest of write-ups. Is the whole thing available to read somewhere?

Why would they want to subject themselves to reading here/gg on a regular basis? The voldy vid in particular has come up a lot recently (more than it had been on gg lately) and people bringing up Dan's bro... I'm sure if they could legally issue a takedown notice for the likes of this, they would. The cherry jokes alone would probably make them want to die a little.
All the constructive criticism in the world wouldn't be worth wading through more speculation on things they want banished from internet memory. imo.
