Save him.
Poor Phil. He looks so uncomfortable. Dan was kind of adorkable in this though "boop!"
*sigh* This girl is apparently one of those who milked her time way too much. Her whole twitter feed about meeting them is so cringe-worthy. She obviously thought the pretend kiss was funny and she fell for the fake "oh i love your hair" compliment.
Her pic and the proposal one make me so uncomfortable, but as some have said that particular fan looked too young to appreciate the boundaries. This chick on the other hand...
It makes sense as I was wondering when is going to announce their YTR project; they were the few that had been selected earlier on by YT to attend the initial YT NY meet-up that later announced YTR. I'm wondering now if the UK Tour will also be included in the US Tour documentary which most probably be under YTR
Isn't it the second time the red haired girl causes drama? I remember her saying sth about dan hating her because sth sth (????)happened... was it the uk tour or sitc M&G?.
edit:yes i found it. the girl travelled from Australia to the uk for the tour last october and dan was rude to her and hated her
grumpy sassmaster
Lol what a coincidence...She also said Dan "hated me so much" this time as well although now maybe that probably isn't too much of an exaggeration jk
That's some serious dedication though to fly from Aus.
EDIT: Is there a free trial for YTR?

Well this has been all sorts of awkward and uncomfortable, hasn't it? I'm sort of amazed by how many people can't recognize when someone else is so obviously uncomfortable (i.e. the proposal pic, kissing girl knew exactly what she was up to).
I do have to admit that I have a new found respect for the level of patience have though. I just hope they're also able to stand their ground and tell people when something's not alright/asking too much. They're still human after all.
(Also, hi. I'm new to forums so please excuse the rambling )

i feel like both UK and US will be included. With whatever were filming in the states and all the people saying "their film" this "for the film" that. once again, fans finding things out before they mention anything close. nice.

So many awkward pics and encounters this time during the M&G, so much cringe.
I sincerely hope that if Dan and Phil put it on Youtube Red, that it is also available through other means. I mean in my country Youtube Red isn’t even available, so if it is just on there, I will not be happy.
Ugh the M & G photos from yesterday. Consent people. I bet are glad it is nearly over.
By the sounds of it, the girl with red hair is a bit of a problem. This is the second time she is causing trouble at a M&G. Why would she even go in for a kiss (joking or otherwise). That is just wrong. Some people have no boundries or common sense.
Tbh I won't mind TATINOF on YTred. Obviously YTred is only in America at the moment but I don't mind paying out right for the TATINOF show. I pay £1.89 for each episide of Game Lab (MatPat ) so I don't mind paying £10.00 for TATINOF tour documentry.
YTred is probably the easiest way of getting it out to the most people around the world for people with the YTred subscription or people buying it out right.

but that's what confuses me. didn't they say something about the tatinof whatever being available worldwide so everyone can see it?
blueapple_x wrote:Damn, so this is how D+P are going to drop the news to people? Right at vidcon?
I mean, I expected the documentary to be charged for so I guess to me it doesn't really make a difference whether it's YTR or something else.
So with YTR, once you have a membership you have to keep renewing it to have access to the exclusive videos on there??
you need to keep renewing it to have access to the videos yes and perhaps they are announcing it at vidcon somehow? they do have a mainstage performance on saturday but sometimes creators would reveal short films and projects there.
I really can’t see them just putting in on YTR, I mean that isn’t even available in the UK, so that doesn’t make much sense to me. It would also be a really dumb strategy, because then people like me would get their hands on it anyway, only for free while I am willing to pay for it. So that would actually lose them money.
Does this red square mean youtube red for sure?? I don't think it was ever made clear it wouldn't be on youtube red? It was pretty clear from the start the documentary wouldn't be free, so youtube red or a dvd or netflix etc. really is the same, no? (squishphan: I think YTR works only in the US but the content that's on it is still available for the rest of the world but individually, not with the subscription, at least that's what i understood)
For the kiss picture, the girl says she told Dan beforehand that she was gonna pretend to kiss him for the picture. I think in that case that's ok honestly.
If you’re attracted to somebody, you’ll want them to sniff you eventually - Dan
*Phil is turned on by Dan's brilliance* *they kiss* *they have sex in the microwave* - Oqua (actually Phil)
I don't particularly begrudge having to pay as if they released it on DVD I would totally buy it. I just hope that it includes the actual show and not just behind the scenes stuff because I would only buy a DVD if it was actual show footage and a documentary! If there is no show included then I will be seriously side eyeing Dan and Phil.
Also, it does make me laugh how the girl who posted the awkward kiss photo thinks talking to D&P for a minute is ages. I've always found the whole time restriction on the m&g weird, ill just stand over here in the corner thinking that a minute is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Also, why would you admit that Drake had to drag you away, you're not helping your case love.

I agree. It better be the complete show not just the BTS. I would be annoyed if it was just that.

The girl with red hair looks like she knew exactly what she was doing and I wouldn't be surprised if it was dans "punishment" for rolling his eyes at the previous m&g, I'm new af to the 'phandom' and know how awkward that would make him feel so someone dedicated enough to fly round the world (twice) to meet them would definitely know. As for the little girl, she may not know how boundary overstepping that pose is but her parents must and she must have discussed that pose with them? IDK, I genuinely feel sorry for them because that girl at the airport is annoying af to me but I find it interesting that you cringed as well eevee because that's exactly how I pictured your encounter with them.
Ughh I didn't need to wake up to so much cringe, people what bothers with this girls is how she keeps saying "dan hated me" like is this a thing to be proud of ? Making someone uncomfortable is not cool imo

Well, Wasn't expecting that... Colour me cautiously optimistic...
Wow, European Vidcon right in my backyard. I always thought that if European Vidcon would go through they'd go to the UK or Germany tbh. I'd go if the line up is any good and if I'm not broke. I'm not optimistic about either of those. I'm a bit skeptic about the whole thing tbh.
Look. The Netherlands already has it's own local event (many European countries do) called Dutch YouTube Gathering, it's kinda evolved like SITC did in the sense that it upgraded from meeting in a park and walking around a city, to a proper event. And I'm sure they're feeling very threatened now BUT... If big US/UK YouTubers attend EU Vidcon, then I can imagine the salty Dutch YouTube not being pleased about having to share the spotlight and not headlining the event. Then DYG would live on as the preferred event of Dutch YouTubers, but possibly with less visitors. Same with other countries Creators and their events. A concept with 'local' and international YouTubers mixing in at one event like Vidcon wants though? That's not gonna work I think.
However, if those big YouTubers don't attend then there's really no point for a EU Vidcon. The reason European people ask for a EU Vidcon is because they want a chance to meet those big US/UK YouTubers. Like I'd go to DYG if I wanted to meet Enzoknol (I really don't), I don't need a Vidcon for that. I'm guessing it's the same for other countries. Plus, there's a reason European events never mingle; a 'local' European community doesn't exist. We're not one country like the US. Fans of Dutch YouTubers (apparently those exist) aren't interested in German, French or Spanish YouTubers. And the Creators aren't interested in each other either. They all make content in their own language (with some exceptions, some even have international relevance), based on their countries' sense of humor and interests. They have their own communities and fanbases.
Can you tell I'm not a big fan of Dutch YouTube lol?
(A Dutch beauty blogger/vlogger I'm sorta acquainted with is hyped for this on Twitter, but she also never attended DYG because she had her own event. I think this year was the last one though, she might be looking for something else and I know she loves a lot of US YouTubers.)
We actually have too YT events here, VEED and DYTG, which is actually too much already, if you ask me. Not even big youtubers like Dylan Heagens and Enzo knol go these events anymore, so adding another YT even would be quite useless indeed. So unless there will come populair British or American Youtubers, Dutch people wouldn't even be interested in Vidcon that much, since DYTG is exactly the same and I don't think Vidcon would be held that far away from DyTG either...
And same, the Dutch Youtube community is horrible. IF deppy would come to the Dutch vidcon i'd probably only go for them
[offtopic]Hi btw, I'm lurking here already since ages but i can never keep up with you guys and when I am, i've got nothing to add.[/offtopic]
Damn I'm so out of touch with the Dutch blogging/vlogging community (I blame all beauty blogs and channels going to shit past 2013, after that I never bothered), I've never even heard of VEED ._. Since when do they exist? Why does this country need two events? Most of these Dutch YouTubers are already big headed enough as it is, they don't need be worshiped on two separate occasions. Let alone three with Vidcon added to the mix. Looking at their website and guest list rn, I don't even know who most of these people are. And Frans Bauer as a special guest.
And hi! The amount of Dutch people on here is growing~
About weed being legal or not: I was taught in tourism/hotel school that smoking weed is legal. Possessing and producing cannabis is not, however up to 5 grams of 5 plants is tolerated. Same goes for selling the stuff, only up to 5 grams is tolerated. The police can still confiscate the drugs if they see fit, but you won't get charged. It's actually a pretty dumb and confusing system (obviously coffee shops gets their stuff from people who mass produce illegally and not from some guy with only 5 plants in his attic, thus the system benefits criminals), but still better than the zero tolerance policies in most of the world.
Frans Bauer tho To all the non-Dutchies on the forum, this is Frans Bauer. You're welcome. Disclaimer: this is the worst kind of Dutch music, don't judge our country too harshly, please.
I find it hilarious how little I actually know about the weed legislation of my own country, I just always assumed it was legal to smoke everywhere. Oops.
I'd probably give a kidney to see high. It would be amazing.
/delurk . God i would love to go to an Amsterdam vidcon with *starts prayer circle*
Welcome Boterham ... and what have you done Bedhead. Frans Bauer? You have opened the gates to hell. Soon we will all be dancing the polonaise
Anyway i match your Frans Bauer and raise you a Christoff - very popular at all lgbt parties. honestly this song could be about D&P. How can something that sounds so wrong feel so right.
What kind of Belgian weirdness is this. No offense Stankhanov. I could be really cruel and introduce the forum to Dutch rap but I don't think anyone is ready for that.
People pouncing on Deppy in public places when they, y'know, are probably trying to catch a plane kind of irritates me. I just don't understand what you get out it. Why are people so proud of getting a selfie with them when they are clearly uncomfortable and are only complying to not seem like a jerk? It strikes me as a extremely self-centered, people just want to brag that they met them and don't care if they inconvenience the people they claim to be fans of in the process.

by the time the footage is edited and done, im sure it'll be available in more countries. they were planning on expanding and it's been a while.
but im surprised more people didn't expect this. realistically, it's more accessible and works out cheaper (higher % of money goes to them over distributors) than a physical copy, but obviously some people would be mad if it went up for free and they paid for it. yt red seems like the best place, even netflix would get complaints of not being accessible enough

First of all, is it bad that part of me wants to have a M&G with them just to tell Dan off for his 'false' repetitive compliments and his Doge face for the majority of photos? Not in a mean way obviously, but in a "perhaps you should think about some conversation starters and just by the way, the non-doge side of your face exists and there's absolutely nothing wrong with the way it looks so could zou please quit doging? ^ - ^"...-way. Just me? Yes? Perhaps I'm just a little bitter and fed up with the cringe and second hand embarrassment, whoops.
Honestly, I find it remarkable how they deal with it (though one might argue that it just "comes with the job"). But it seems astounding that they still seem so genuinely appreciative of the things the phandom does, no matter how much facepalm potential it brings.
