d+p talk, only the last part is really relevant to current conversations since i spend too long talking about other stuff first
i mean in general weed smoking isnt a particularly thrilling rumour, its a pretty basic standard thing. it definitely isnt a bizarre conspiracy like secret tour crew relationships, whether or not its true. they dont drink much, maybe they have other hobbies instead. i remember (probably on gg?) this discussion and i pointed out that manchester uni has a reported 85% of students doing drugs at some point, even if dan was thoroughly tied down by that point. even if theyre all ~respectable and wholesome~ now, its definitely not a very outlandish theory to consider being a thing which happened at some point. i dont know about other places, but where i live in the uk it was a very standard thing between the ages of about 16-24. then again, theyre posh boys from posh schools. they tended to have some... other hobbies.
dan said his teenage friend group hung out in fields drinking cheap cider and stuff, right? yeah, sounds familiar
i generally dont like serious discussions on things like this just because even if i dont care if they do, some people will so it can cross lines of comfort. its not like discussing if they do hard drugs, but i respect that it can alter some perceptions so i'll keep it under a spoiler
on tour though, when youre with a lot of people you dont really know, have a lot of work to do, arent familiar with the countrys laws/regulations of the place, not the best plan. evil, illegal parkers or not, theyre not the risky band kind of people. i think any possible activities would be contained to their home. i definitely dont think theres any real weed tour conspiracies so i strongly encourage the jokes

Just got home and haven't had a chance to catch up with the thread yet but since there's a strong UK userbase here:
It is suggested the Brexit referendum might have motivated the attack.
I'm surprised, I did not expect tensions to rise so high in a generally peaceful country like the UK. I hate nationalism, this why you well never see me wave a flag. Politicians getting murdered in the streets? It takes me back to the assassination of the Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn.
Also what do you think about the Brexit. To keep it D&P ... i mean.. a brexit could severly effect their EU tour plans.

even though i doubt any possibly impending brexit changes would be in place immediately, i wouldnt be that surprised if they were recommended against planning out the eu tour before the referendum. having everything booked and set up before finding out a month before that they have a lot of sudden, new paperwork to do would be a nightmare. they'll still manage to tour, but it could now require the heavy planning of the us tour, and theyll have to be aware of the time constraints they have so they dont end up delayed by any of the factors
the scottish independence referendum kind of prepared me for a horrible couple of months of horrible protests and media lies (the celebrations from no voters the day after the results managed to include union flags, anti scottish government statements, xenophobic remarks, sectarianism, nazi salutes and the bbc STILL reported it as 'violence from disappointed yes voters??? bye) . i expected right wing publications and figures talking about how us evil immigrants are ruining their chance to fund schools or hospitals, while in fact far more money than what we're somehow wasting is being lost by constantly cutting taxes for the richest, and i expected minor displays of hate and things, but i definitely didnt expect something like that to happen. it really is shocking.

It just shows you that the US doesn't hold the patent on nutcases. It just that in the US, nutcases have access to highly destructive weapons. Eff-in' intractable situation here.

Oh, we're well aware of that... It's just that the UK does a far better job of restricting the nutcases' access to weapons that can kill a fuckload of people in a short amount of time.
There's violent crime reported on the local news (according to the BBC, that means Manchester, Liverpool and fuck-all else, unless something really dramatic happens elsewhere) We do have shootings, they're overwhelmingly gang-related, and mostly planned/targeted, but most violent crime are either stabbings or someone getting six shades of.... knocked out of them.
As for the referendum? You bet they won't have planned anything definite for the EU tour yet. I don't tend to listen to much of anything that comes out of any politician's mouth, not without the proverbial salt by the bucketload, anyway so the amount of BS being spread by BOTH sides has nooooo effect on me other than making me roll my eyes, and hope like hell that impressionable folk down listen to it.
I'm worried scared, (eff that, terrified, really) because it WILL have a big effect on my life and future plans. Fingers crossed I wake up happy next Friday.

Thank you for that wonderful walk down memory lane! I will never be over those late November tweets Also that second Uma Thurman tweet has somehow not been deleted, though the twitpic itself has. Presumably Dan thought deleting the twitpic would delete the tweet itself, but it's still there, though it makes no sense without knowing the deleted context. I don't quite want to link it b/c I'm afraid people will understandably not be able to resist liking/RTing it and it'll get deleted, but it's very easy to search.

Europe is currently crawling with (right wing) nationalism, it's scary. It's sad but looking at the extremism in all major European debates right now, including Brexit, I'm not even that surprised that it has come to this. But I feel awful for her family, she had young kids who now have to grow without a mom because she was killed by a terrorist.
The murder of Pim Fortuyn changed the political landscape in my country forever, but 14 years later it didn't shape up to be a good thing considering we have now have people like Geert Wilders running around. I hope the UK doesn't go down the drain like that.

My best friend is in the same boat, she moved from the Netherlands to the UK last year. Having to get a visa would suck and if she has to leave the UK she has to move back in with her lowkey emotionally abusive father.
Bring it back to , I agree that they're probably seeing what a possible Brexit might do before planning and embarking on a tour. That's probably also why they're doing Australia first (at least I expected them to go there dead last).
And omg I hate it when they delete tweets, it just makes me sad. Don't RT those things people, they will delete it whether it's suggestive or not. Just screenshot it if you wanna share the love with the world.

Yeah, I am more "neutral" when it comes to Phan but 2009 is the only thing that makes me think it's actually real.
The biology tweet is so, so cheesy I throw up a bit in my mouth everytime I see it
