I could have sworn the membership was $4.99 once, but now it is $6.99, if you live in America. But what matters here is what it actually is. More expensive than chips (thinly sliced potatoes), unless you are buying a 24 pack or whatever. Whole Foods has maybe one bag of chips that is more expensive.
It's not worth it, unless you just want to pay it to support Phil and Dan. The "exclusive" posts are leaked (though I suppose that is the prerogative of those paying...) and he even replies to people that are not members on videos, and I kinda doubt he's replying to 20 comments of paying members. I think I have seen him reply to non-paying members! But if the money is had to spare, by all means, fans should join the channel/pay for the membership!

Not me being an IRL Merch apologist lol.
Yeah they've been a mess for a minute and half now and they really could do with some more expertise on board, but I really don't love the 'how are they surprised at this they knew this was coming other companies are doing it why can't they' attitude. Plenty of small business who were well prepared haven't survived Brexit + COVID at all and just shuttered.
I'm going to add onto this as well as someone who's had to turn off shipping and digital sales to the UK entirely because my European/UK distribution is based in the EU and no one understand what to do about VAT. It's a mess for all businesses, but it isn't IRL's fault.
While we've known brexit was coming down the pipeline for a long time, the business community was told over and over the gov't would have the VAT/trade issues figured out prior to 12/31/2020. They were passing trade agreements at the ACTUAL 11th hour - they didn't even have the Northern Ireland border worked out (still don't). No one in small business was prepared for how bad it's been and how little the UK gov't has figured out. The people's whose entire job it is to communicate international VAT in HM Revenue and Customs still don't know what's happening and have barely communicated with people who do EU/UK cross-border trade and nothing was worked out by the July 1 change date.

Always nice to see Hector's take! (And of course he knows Dan's part of the story even if Phil doesn't mention him.)

The irony of during the stereos Phil telling multiple stories of Dan being a mess as a 18-20 yr old, not knowing how to make a salad or use a washing machine. whilst he, in his mid thirties, is attempting gardening in his own bathroom at 11pm

Phil..... saves tweets. These bitches are always watching. They know everything and idk why we even pretend like they don't.
Shady shits.

Nah but how are they usually all like 'oh we don't go in fan spaces when we're not tagged because there are things not meant for our eyes' when meanwhile they're saving whole threads huh??

The worst part is that deep down inside we all knew. We knew when Dan said "phannies", we knew when he said "emotionanal", and we knew when he told Phil that a reference Phil didn't understand was from Phandom. If Phil's not saving tweets, Dan's telling him about them.

Our tall overlords are always watching
One theory is that the twitter algorithm provides them with "in your orbit" tweets because we follow the same people (you follow Phil so here's a tweet from someone else who also follows Phil).
But either way it hopefully means Phil video soon-ish!

Okay my new theory is that Phil actually doesn't pay attention to us at all. It's just Dan. Dan does. And Dan tells him. But Phil didn't wanna say "Dan told me about this thread and now he can't find it..."

My theory is they’re both nosy but Phil’s too lazy to hide it. There’s been several instances of him liking tweets he wasn’t tagged in and he’s even said on Stereo that he’s seen tweets about his videos. They’re always watching

Never believed the story that they don’t lurk. Dan saying “is this joint content?” which was what phannies used to say all the time last year was the last confirmation I needed. They’re way too nosy and control freaks not to keep up with what their fanbase says or thinks about them. “But they said otherwise”, okay but they’re never gonna say “yeah actually we keep track of all of you” because they know people would act accordingly.

I also hated the dark blue confetti button up shirt he wore for the TATINOF shows but it's not ~the worst~ I guess.

I've always wondered if someone on his management team doesn't monitor fan spaces somewhat; wouldn't that make sense for a manager to keep tabs on what fans are interested in?

I keep trying to think of anything of Phil's that I'd legitimately roast and I can't come up with anything besides the pizza shirt. That one can legit die.
I think for me it's that Phil's 'fashion sense' usually comes down to what is comfortable on him and I can't dredge up any anger over comfy clothes because I just look at most of the outfits and think, ah yes, I see the reasoning behind that, good job for your body.
The tl;dr here is that I am not a fashion person. But I am DEFINITELY looking forward to this video.

I'm in a similar boat for different reasons?
Like - I love overanalyzing the shit out of everything Dan and Phil wear. I want to know every detail.
But... I find Phil's funky sense of style super refreshing? In an age of neutrals and everyone wearing the same shit they see on Instagram, Phil's over here embracing whatever shirt speaks to him and him alone. And if that means funky symbols or glitter or a hypnosis-enducing pattern, who am I to fight him? Who else is wearing those weird shirts? And even more so: Who else is making them work?? Like, I certainly could never comfortably pull off a button-up splattered with corgis. So... Yeah. That's why I struggle to roast him too. (And not to draw a comparison, but while I love that Dan embraces his love of all things black and designer, he doesn't always... make it work the way Phil does his own clothes. So perhaps the best outfit on Phil is his
confidence~*~*)
For sure though, pizza shirt is trash.

I definitely believe this, but I wish they'd lean into it more. Throw some Brexit memes at us. Let us know you don't know either! The phandom fucking loves feeling in on a conversation. IRL Merch would have no biggest defenders than their repeat buyers if they just opened the door a little bit and stopped doing... the exact opposite of that. Like stopping shipping to entire countries (Brazil, etc as well as the UK) without saying a single word.
