Dan seriously did seem to make few gay jokes on Phil's behalf. Like, what? I don't think he has ever done that before this video. It even seems a bit inappropriate to me.

I honestly doubt that Dan's not in Floriday, considering he was actually seen at an airport and tweeted about falling asleep choking on peanuts hours after. I even think that he knows we know, but why acknowledge it and risk a higher amount of fans catching wind of it and potentially trying to stalk spot them on their vacation?
But then again, you never know for sure with the two of them.

i don't think that's a gay joke at all..? it's just a fact about him, and one that he brings up in a mildly comedic way to show the 'haha typical dan and phil not being masculine enough!!' thing

Sorry for being unclear. I'm referencing how he made a comparison of Dean and his lager to Phil and his fruity cocktail, and said 'its just who we are' or something like that. I took it as a gay joke. Idk about you guys

I took it as more of a nod to their lack of stereotypical masculinity, not their sexuality. Especially since Dan also went on about being perceived as the alpha male of the group.

Ok fair enough. That makes sense too. For some reason I just initially took the comment in a sexuality-related way.

Maybe it was his use of the word fruity? I know he was describing the drink, but yeah that is kinda an (insulting?) idiom for being gay.

I mean, to be fair, fruity drinks are a gay man's stereotypical favorite. That is a thing portrayed by popular culture over and over again. But we can neither blame Dan for not subscribing to said stereotype, nor for not being bothered by it. That being said, calling it a gay joke has the connotations that it's something bad/Dan was mocking Phil, which I just can't agree with, it was said with affection and Dan went on to talk about himself and not being percieved as traditionally masculine as well. (Which, like it or not, also a popular culture stereotype about male queerness.) We can only guess whether Dan had intended to make a comment on their sexual orientation through that, I don't think so, but either way, I'd assume he knew where Phil's limits were better than us.

What can I say. Wow, loved those videos. I might give my insights later. What pisses me of is their personas. I kinda think they don't show their real selves anymore.

Dan made a similar joke before in their ditl Londonvlog or something… it's just him mocking the traditional masculinity stereotypes, not a gay joke.

I honestly can't imagine deppy being "omg you have a cosmopolitan? can you be any more gayer?" Like Tyler Oakley or people on the rupaul's drag race.

*nods* I'm basically the same, but I just wanted to clarify that the connection is indeed there and it's not impossible to make that assumption & from what I saw in the comments under the video, many people actually have.

nah it wasn't a gay joke. It was just to show Phil is not your stereotypical manly man who opens beer with his teeth and then chugs it. He's joked about Phil's love of "girly"superior drinks before. When they went to the pub in the London DITL and Phil took a raspberry flavoured cider or something comes to mind

I kind of take the fruity cocktail thing as a reference to both Phil's perceived sexuality and his femininity, but at the same time I really don't think there's much depth to it at all.

@ the Instagram picture, Dean literally looks like my mom. (Just the way he was standing/his height + there is an optical illusion that he's wearing heels, gave me a giggle.) I'm calling him mom from now on.

He's in the US and looking great, the hat is hideous though!
