Quick note about people's concern for Louise's "lust" for Dan - I never understood it. Everything she's saying seems perfectly innocent to me. Her liking that fan fic seems to have had more to do with her being happy that she wasn't cast in the role as mother/sidekick for once in her life, but actually got to play the main part. That the other part was played by a friend of hers who understands shipping and fan fiction must've been a bonus, because she could actually call him about it and share her enthusiasm without it being weird. That's how I interpret the situation anyway. Her joking about sex in her videos... well that's just Louise, isn't it? She does that a lot from what I have seen, not just with Dan.

If Dan really wanted to shade Onision he should've added a gif to his post, I'd recommend:

I, too, suspect most youtubers know. The idea that they don't always seemed weird to me tbh. People gossip. Whether they're together or not I'm sure word's made its way around the British Youtube community a few times - most people wouldn't get the information first hand from Dan and Phil, that's true, but people will talk. Remember people like Emma and Evan communicated with Charlieskies back in the day and Evan's tweeted about watching the vday video and how everyone talks behind closed doors. D&P might be private, but they're not islands. Too many people from the old youtube community would know the truth.

(It all reminds me a bit of gay youtuber Jimmy0010, who only came out on youtube last year. In a video he and his friend Chels made a while back Chels talks about meeting Jimmy for the first time - and already knowing he was gay even though he wasn't public with it, because people in the community talked.)

Evan tweeted about watching Voldy? Not that I would put it past him, he has no sense of shame, but does anyone have this saved somewhere? Perhaps our magical archivist oqua once again?
I agree with felucca, Louise is a naturally flirty person and doesn't mean anything by it. I think Phil gets this because he's kind of the same so he isn't bothered by their friendship.

I agree, for me Louise doesn't seem as someone who has a crush in Dan. They only have this weird conection in awkward situations. And yes the ff part is pretty innocent, and if I was her I'll be pretty happy/excited too.

I agree with Felucca about Louise viewing her role in the fanfic as non-motherly and loving it for that reason specifically. And she is very flirty. Overly so. In fact, if you ever took a gander at her thread on thewebsitethatshouldnotbenamed, her flirting was likely the topic of convo. Pre- and post-marriage.

As a whole, I try to remember that D&P are humans and pretty smart ones at that. If I like them, then I think it's safe to trust them with their choice of friends. If they're cool with Louise, I'm cool with Louise. Frankly, I haven't found myself opposed to any of their most recent relationship decisions. That is to say, who they choose to hang out with and who they avoid. This is actually an interesting topic - have any of you guys ever found yourself disliking a decision D&P have made in this realm? Someone they've worked or hung out with? Is this where Ben Cook gets brought up?

I also wanted to touch on something akui mentioned a few pages back. And that's how Jack seemed to be double-bluffing when he tried joking about Phan in front of Dan. I feel like I see that a lot from other youtubers? It's probably just my but that's PewDiePie as well. His mentions of D&P have increased exponentially since spending time with them. Aside from everyone pointing out that he may enjoy the Phandom's response, I think it's also a double-bluff. "Oh hey. I know them. Look at me casually joking about their relationship. Because there... uh... isn't one."

we already talked about this today, but it's funny how we just know these things and we accept them because we have no reason not to and then there's dan and phil and the never ending search for poof

i blaim it on heteronormativity a lot, and it probably has something to w it, but it's also just them, idk if it was 2012 or what but they trained us well

I so wish i wasn't on a train right now so i could contribute more to the Dan's Complex About His Growth theory- (at this point i do think it's a complex, because of mismatching information in diff contexts, most of which seem to be in relation to Phil). there was a good convo on GG with lots of links last year- the most recent contribution though was the cover of the 2016 calendar. Dan is photoshopped to appear smaller than Phil.

i don't know why he does it, though the romantic dynamic brought up by someone earlier is certainly a persuasive one. whilst i think it's funny and sort of ridiculous, I don't wish self image issues on anyone and I hope he embraces his size and facial hair as he ages. he's changed a lot in the last 3 years, I don't blame him for having a weird time with it. he grew into a great looking man, though.

also already pointed out, but his frame and limbs are larger in all aspects than Phil's as you can see in that picture with their director, and that can contribute to a few centimetres of length appearing more or less significant depending on other factors on camera. meet and greets will be interesting i agree. flarequake 'willowy' is such a nice descriptor. aw.

Hmmm re the Dan height discussion: I am a tall woman and I am insecure about it. I can't speak for Dan but personally I often feel uncomfortable in my own body and with being 'bigger' than everyone around me, so I slouch a lot.

Also I can't believe Evan tweeted that, even if he was drunk. So rude and immature. No wonder Deppy don't get close to other you tubers.

This is also part of why I like Deppy so much more than other you tubers. They both come across as genuinely nice people and they don't start shit.

On the Dan height thing, I could see it just being him being self-conscious about it, but it seems like a lot of work to work around something fairly insignificant (though it's insignificance is just in my own opinion. But also, he points out how tall he is a lot? Though it could be done as a self-depreciative joke.) There was one liveshow where Phil was talking about how everyone always freaks out about their height when they meet them, and he said he doesn't know how to react/doesn't actually like hearing it much (I don't know if he might have added a "Please don't just call me tall when you meet me" or if I'm getting too far ahead of myself. ) This could all totally play into that.

As someone who normally stays pretty in-the-middle/tries to give the benefit of the doubt/all of that stuff, that's like an entirely new level of screwed-up, assuming they would all watch it just to laugh/make-fun-of/mock. (Assuming the relationship for this) I can both see PewDiePie doing it this way, or I see it in a different way where he knows about them and he's making jokes about how he knows but the jokes are playful enough where people can't tell if he's joking or not, and he's playing with that level of power/ambiguity. And just in case that made no sense, (because when I typed it it sure didn't feel like it didn't,) let me try again. If Pewds has recently discovered their relationship, he could be making jabs about their relationship as a sort-of inside joke with himself (+ whoever else may know about them) where he knows what he's saying has certain aspects reality to it, but the viewers don't know that, but the way he delivers the "jokes" is so playful but also serious that as an outsider, knowing whether he's actually joking or not becomes a guessing game, and he could be getting a kick out of making people question it when he knows the truth.

Notes on Dan's height complex written a long time ago when I was a lurker who wasn't 100% phan yet.

My phan goggles are permanently on by now but I noticed something. In the shop both Dan and Phil’s heights are listed as 6'2'' despite Dan having said he's 6'3'' and being visibly taller than Phil. Why would Dan care about being taller than Phil unless they were in a relationship? Even though I don't like being taller than people I've only wished I was shorter when I dated guys shorter than me. Since Dan is apparently still struggling with having outgrown his twink stage that might be why he doesn't want to be taller than Phil.

pixlexia we had the same thoughts on Pewdiepie's phan jokes.

Agree with the height comment so much. I'm taller than all my girl friends, and I'm not even that tall. But it makes me feel so insecure most of the time. I am constantly subconsciously slouching in my seat, or leaning on something to make myself appear shorter. Never ever wearing heels. I cringe to think how many times during meet and greets they must hear "YOU'RE SO TALL!!1!!!" Maybe they don't care and are used to it but that would drive me bananas

Between all the talk about Evan and Emma and thirsty ass Onision I am constantly reminded why I rarely watch any other YTers. They just keep giving us reasons to be disappointed with their rampant immaturity and blatant jealousy of D&Ps success.

Re: Dan's height. Wasn't he taller than Phil from the beginning? I've seen a post on tumblr about that (which I can't find now, but it seemed Dan was taller from day 1).

Also, do you remember a photo of Dan with a photoshopped beard? I think it was in the last tumblr tag video. Phil said 'maybe in 3 years' and Dan said 'maybe in 3 0 years' looking quite horrified. It has nothing to do with height, but it could relate to the whole discussion about his growth/progressive lack of 'twink-ness' (I hope this doesn't sound offensive, it's difficult to put into words).

Same. I read here first before I head to twitter and a bit shocked reading all the replies are about existential crisis, so I try to read it from that perspective and can see that it can also be read that way.

Eeeeek. Dancing so much throughout my childhood/adolescence may have given me some issues, but at least poor posture isn't something i have to worry about! I hope the physio sorts you out asap. Get them good habits forming now, saves you in the long run. *Glares at * - seriously, I'm bracing myself for endless M&G photos with them hunched over with fans already...
