I got into the phandom early 2015 and 2009 was pretty easy to find to me, I just had to dig a bit through the phan tag on tumblr

don't most of their pages have a password tho? easy to guess for those who know what they're looking for but impossible for those who are brand new.

I don't have an opinion on how easily accessible this stuff should be but in my opinion it's hard to find for someone new.

I agree that it's easy if you know what you're looking for but it's not easy if you haven't seen a certain video or already read the tweets. I can see both sides of the story though, Dan doesn't want them out there so hide them, but then again they are on the internet, people are gonna read them, so let them read them. I see both sides.

This is spiraling me into an emotional fit about why the fuck they even went back to the closet and I am a mess right now.

The DD password is virtually impossible for a newbie to guess without a bit of research but the other popular password protected blog can be guessed by any novice.
I honestly think if I gave the two provided clues to any of my friends who are not remotely familiar with D&P they could still guess in less then a handful of guesses after googling the meaning of the second clue. Once you know the meaning of that there really are only a few logical guesses to make.
I know I got on there within a few minutes of discovering it and this is without being familiar with the D&P related context beforehand.

When I first enter to the phandom and I found a password protected blog I google for help and the first link gave me the answer. And is the default password for every phandom blog, so very easy inded. I remember reading gg but I wanted to watch every video in their main channels and read all the phan directory before start posting there. Is more fun when you know the references. It took me 2 months tho

Thank you vincentian for finding it. How interesting, I wish they would've talked more about seeing them in the greenroom. Like what put them off? Realising the videos are a performance (d'uh)? Or something else? Because at the moment they sound a lot like disappointed fans. Lol at the guy going "if they do a video together, I WILL watch it!"

Edit: The drug deal password is literally too, being in the phandom is so easy hahaha. ...unless you have no idea about the whole cherry thing... which you don't, as a new fan... Oh well.

Honestly, even the hardest password isn't that hard. It's took me maybe an hour of stalking/searching the old forum and some guesswork to get it, and 2/3 of the clue answers have been mentioned on this site. As for the easy one, hang around for a few days in the tags/forums and you'd get it without having seen the tweets. I guess the idea is deter poeple who aren't invested enough in the forums/phandom or don't have enough exeprience with the phandom to realize what would happen from getting it and spreading it around.

Well I have never found the hardest password and I did try and read most of the old forums, but still nothing for me. I don't need it now there is the version with the easy password, which still took me a bit to guess, being a new fan and all. I remember typing in that easy password and feeling very foolish, because I did not think I was going to be correct, since I knew nothing of the background of it all.

yeah I don't really understand what it is they disliked or reproached them. Was it because Dan and Phil were too "normal"??? That's just kinda weird.

Chiming in as someone who's really a newbie in the phandom. I've actually read the available timelines from phandirectory and some other archivers in Tumblr within 2 weeks of discovering but it was a stroke of luck that I encountered somebody talking about the video-that-must-not-be-named (caught my attention cause they were calling it the Voldemort/Voldy video and I'm HP trash so it stuck in my head), and thus knew about the so much thing. It also did help that I was literally going until like at least page 50 (I know.. I'm sorry for being stalkey. That's what I do when I get into a fandom) of some of the more popular Tumblr phans and archivers and their anon asks to get a feel of the phandom. It took luck as I searched through the tag, randomly asking for help from seemingly more approachable phandom members, and a whole lot of nice people for me to get access to some blogs and other things that are common knowledge within the phandom. But it wasn't easy getting access. And it's hard trying to catch up to 7 years worth of information. I haven't even caught up to 1/5 of the available material but enough I think that I understand about 90% of the references made here. So yeah, it's not that accessible for a newbie.

That was exactly what happened to me when I first found the phandom, it was just a matter of stalking the right tag on tumblr and making one or two google searches, but I think that it's still fairly protected because only someone who is invested will take 2 weeks searching for a answer (it took me 5 days lol), and while searching they will bump into the warnings about not sharing the content and see how the people who end up sharing it are very disliked and it encourages them not to share (idk, am I making sense?) The phandom has a very good protection system going on.

yeah thats #relateable. i think ive seen all of 2009 shit, but sometimes ill be like when i find something new (for ex their kracie poppin cooking video is one of my favorites and i only found it this year! not even a secret vid, it has a million views!)

i actually like how they feel like a never ending box of chocolates sometimes, their's always something new. in the beg of fandom- it was slightly overwhelming trying to catch up with all the in-jokes (of which their are many) off the top of my head ? cactuses, shibes, whisk, 'this is the most fun ive ever had', dan being a stalker, editing tips, 2012 no homo (which.. i find very weird. he's a human being.. whatever not getting into that), etc. interestingly enough, once you've fallen down the rabbit hole.. you're too deep into the phandom to escape.

My path to phan was google search for vday video ---> GG at the top of the search results ---> link to phan directory ---> phan timeline. I think I went from knowing basically nothing about their relationship to seeing all the secret things in about four days. GG was pivotal with that, though. I can't imagine how long it would have taken if I'd just tried searching tumblr or twitter.

I can be quite determined when I think there's a full story I'm not privy to, though. I like solving puzzles.

It is like solving a puzzle...and for me, when I was finding everything, I pretty much got a rush. Maybe because I suspected they were together when I first discovered them, but once I discovered all the old stuff and I just kept clicking and reading and finding more and more cutesy things my heart was fluttering and I couldn't take it. It was a rush to me because I just felt so happy to be discovering what appeared to be true love. It was magical.

2012 me had no morals apparently so I just right click saved everything that spread on Tumblr in those days. Now I have folder full of Phan shit including ~proof~ screenshots and nudes, all for me to look at when I'm in either an antiphan or phan af mood. I love life. It's probably incomplete, I stopped adding shit to it somewhere in 2013. I'm pretty sure it doesn't include Uma Thurman Gate for example, that game of connect the dots got solved a little later.

I can't believe my trash levels have been consistent for over four years now
