As much as I appreciate the 45 minute long video, im bored of Undertale, it's not a game for me, I find it kinda boring ngl. Plus my ears are broken from all the Dan screaming, why must you be so loud Daniel. Why does Phil never get to control the character, isn't he allowed to touch the gaming keyboard for longer than a minute or something, it's hardly a Dan & Phil play, it's more of a Phil watches Dan play Undertale.
Appreciated the stroke the sword comment though, probably the one laugh it did give me.
Sorry to be a misery
I haven't watched it yet but I know what you're saying, I'm a big fan of the Sims series and I've watched every episode like 15 times to overanalyze things like everyone else and yeah it's the same thing, I get frustrated sometimes that Dan completely takes over the controls of the games and only plays himself and I get frustrated because Dan is so bad sometimes at playing it and Phil would def be better before he has played it before.
Just watch the Dil birthday video, I love it, but man, Dan needs sometimes to let Philly do the talking, he was all over it and Phil would occasionally say one-liners like "Okay", "Amazing" and stuff.
I'm not being mean to Dan just giving a little bit of constructive critism. I love the gaming videos but Philly needs to demand to get more involved in those videos.
And please no more Undertale, I rather see them play The Impossible Quiz for an hour than Undertale.

The vid was alright. I was kind of distracted and had to keep pausing it to tend to other things so I'll give it a rewatch later.
Although I really appreciated the innuendos

Whuh. Is that a sly attempt at saying he's single? Trying to muddy the waters a bit after his diss track? Or just a meaningless throwaway #relatable comment. Why is that the one thing that stood out most to me in this video? idk.
I'm pretty sure he meant it like 'I love life' in a sarcastic way cos it was a fail
That was, without the rose-tinted glasses of YAYCONTENT, pretty average. You know how they could kill two birds (it being a bit repetitive, and phil looking bored) with one stone? Switch it up and have Phil control an episode. Like, the whole thing. Maybe even swap seats, go crazy

I have no idea why Phil said 'let's have a stroke of the sword' but Dans reaction was hilarious.
So far I actually really like this vid though the beginning was hard to get into
In general I think their chemistry is off the charts in this video

I agree they should just go crazy and change things a little bit. Sometimes they're too british with the stuff they do like too correct and stuff, they should apply the fun things they do in their own channels to the gaming channel.

Hmmmmmm. Maybe..
Well I'm going to reach in the opposite direction now and say I maybe sensed Phil awkwardness at the part where Undyne talks about Alphys's "Uh... friend???" at 23:45. Which just makes me want them to get back to those friendly-bro guards and deal with that dialogue. It's going to be so awkward I can't wait.

Hate to be a negative Nellie, but for the love of all things holy Daniel let Phil control a PC game for once.
I like Dan, but if I were Phil I would be so annoyed by this point with how controlling he is during gameplay (and all the unnecessary screaming). The video overall was meh I would love for something different other than Sims or Undertale for once. They really have slacked off on that channel.
Now I'll let myself out

Sorry I meant it in a good way, not that they're boring, that they won't push the limits more, like they said in their Sims video:
Phil: I never push the limits when I'm boxing
Dan: Have you pushed the limits ever, Phil?
Like they know they are too correct sometimes and don't risk things, I don't wanna say all British people and/or youtubers are like that but most of them are. Sorry if I offended you I didn't mean for it to.
About the video, me and my brother watch together and yeah he doesn't like Undertale that much also, I think there are other youtubers out there that played it better.

I liked the video, I loved all of it from when they met the killer robot. I agree that they, especially Phil, could now be bored with it, let's face it the game itself is and it's something that suffers from long breaks. Phil imo if he wanted would play but he doesn't, still they should try more.
Also good for the shoutout "coffee pigs" , even if he drinks soluble coffee [offtopic]

agreed, he's said those exact words before in videos after something goes wrong. he just meant it as like, he tried to hit all 3 switches, he was waiting for something to happen, nothing happened, fml. def don't think it had anything to do with his romantic life.

i'm sure that they've discussed their roles in videos and who will play/control what. i doubt either of them are ever 'letting' the other person play, or just silently going along with the status quo if one of them is unhappy with it. i agree that i would like to see phil control the game more often, but i'm p sure their roles in videos are mutually decided upon and something they do for a reason (even if that reason is something as simple as preference. or phil is just less dexterous with keyboard-controlled games? who knows.) i just don't think it's a poor-phil, dan's such a control freak kind of scenario, y'know?
sidenote: i liked the little domestic tidbit we got about phil drinking hot tea straight from the kettle whereas dan likes to wait for it to cool off
also, some bits of this vid did seem more casual/sloppy. the editing, as some of you have mentioned, but also their both sipping of ribena, and i'm pretty sure phil's phone alarm went off at some point and he reached over to turn it off. i was weirdly excited by these moments of humanity. also, dan sure did check himself out in the viewfinder a LOT during this video.

I thought mostly the reason Phil doesn't play it more is because he hates the keyboard and is slightly uncomfortable with playing the PC games in general. He has said negative things about it multiple times. The keyboard and the mouse. It's not his computer and is set up for left handed play (not that would be too hard to switch over) but it still would slow down the flow...He also doesn't seem too interested in playing (and sometimes watching).
I have a feeling if he really wanted to play, they are close enough that Phil could tell Dan that he wanted to and they could switch off. He tends to relinquish the power to Dan on a few things. (FNAF is an example, he decided he was done playing and would just supervise) I have faith that if Phil felt like he was being pushed around he would say something. He isn't a weak little boy, he is an intelligent man, dealing with his (gaming) companion, best friend, (business) partner and roommate of many years. I am sure he can take care of himself. I swear sometimes the way you guys talk about them, it sounds like you think Dan is the boss of Phil. It seems to me they have their relationship dynamic figured out pretty well, both taking over where their strongest and happily taking the passenger seat when the other is better suited for the task at hand.
I would love it if Phil decided he wanted to take control of an ep of Undertale or Dil, but he doesn't seem too interested in doing that, and that's OK. He seems happy enough to be the passenger in those situations. I seem to remember him taking over during an Undertale and Dan just moved aside. It worked out well and Dan, was super supportive about it. (so supportive, my hubby heard the vid playing in the other room and had to come and see what the hell I was watching. Thought I was watching some really loud porn.... )
I liked this ep. but will have to rewatch as I was distracted through a lot of it and missed almost every interesting part everyone was talking about. (they did put it up right as I was finally on my way home. sorry guys. Next time I will try to get home early see if that helps.)

Just for the record, they've got about 4-5 hours of Undertale left before they finish. They kind of implied wanting to do the Genocide route (probably from peer pressure lbr), so that's another 4-12 hours (depending on how well they do at a certain point.)
If they continue at the pace they're at, the projected end of this playthrough issss until we're ded in our graves.
Also, a side note that I forgot to mention: Tsundere!Dan is cute. CUTE
This is truly awful, but I had to.

I agree. I mean, YouTube videos is the main part of their job and should come first in my opinion. A regular upload schedule is impossible with these too, but uploading at a regular time of day would sure be nice...

I agree. There may be a reason Phil isn't doing the controlling but it would be nice to see them switch off just because I'd like to see how they'd play differently. Oh, well.
And as others have said, I am getting really tired of Undertale. I love the game but waiting so long between each video just takes away from the experience. It would have been nice if they'd done the whole game in the space of a few months (uploading every Sunday or something). Everyone who wanted to watch would stay engaged and excited. If they don't finish by January I'm probably not going to watch their Undertale vids anymore tbh

Responding to the person who said that Philly can take of himself and stuff and they discuss the gaming videos who controls it and stuff, yeah I'm sure they do, they're grown men, the thing is Phil may be not playing the games, but he needs to say something, like i said before he mostly sticks to one-liners and even though I love Dan's sexy voice, it's tiring sometimes hearing only him when it's another person in the video as well, like the birthday video of the Sims.
And about the schedule, yeah I think the same way, they're very unconsistent and it's getting annoying, I understand the book, the tours and stuff, but men if they can do an hour long stream every week, they can post a video in each other's main channel and dan and phil games weekly just fine.
I don't want to compare but Alfie for ex. (i think) uploads 12 videos a week, and he has written books and gone on tour. So yeah, they could upload weekly just fine.

Phil actually seemed to get really into the puzzle part, that was cute.
I need to watch it a second time through when I am not dividing my attention between it and work, but I still liked this video. Phil wasn't as active in the gameplay but he did most of the voices so I wonder if in their mind that evens it up? Phil is being a vocal, verbal part of the lets play process.
On a side note, heyaaa dick jokes and male attraction from Phil. Maybe he's not singing it in a literal song roast-style, but I still very much enjoy Phil's more subtle version of warming up and opening up to the camera through the increasingly transparent guise of humor.

Agree with this. Also I've personally noticed in YouTube gaming duos, it isn't uncommon for there to be a mostly designated player in the duo and the other person is there mostly as a conversation partner than a second player. That being said, I would love to see Phil do some gaming on his own. Anytime he's in control he goes into super-focused mode and Dan starts bouncing off the walls.
Also, the tiny tidbit about the coffee had me

the name alfie and written books in the same sentence, why, i don't think it's fair to compare tabinof to alfie's cheap copy of wreck this journal, and what exactly did he do on tour? sign autographs and a Q&A? (genuinely asking idk what he did but i don't think a stage show is the answer) but yeah, besides that and comparing them to almost every other youtube channel, their schedule is a mess, but tbh at this point i don't expect it to be better and i'm okay with that as long as they keep me entertained in some other way (if i'm bored i get extra bitchy that's not my fault), like non robotic tweets, and that the videos that they do put out are good, this year has been really hit or miss on that angle

I'm 10 minutes in and I'm so bored. Undertale is so unbelievably dull.
You know it's been too long between games if you can't even remember what voice you used for a character Phil! I find the voices so annoying as well. I can read the text quicker than they talk so I'm just sitting there like ugh waiting. I understand it would be boring to just watch them read the text though.

Just repeating what others have said but I'm sure that if Phil wanted to control the game he could. Dan is not some overlord forcing Phil to just sit there.
I honestly don't really think it makes a difference who controls undertale, it's not really a game that requires any kind of thought or choices really. It's just walking around and looking at stuff. I'd like to see Phil control Dil though, that might be interesting. Dan sometimes does stuff out of the blue there which I would like to see Phil do as well. Dan also made so many basic mistakes at the start of the Sims that were super annoying and it would have been better to have Phil control it since he has played it before.

Last time Dan had weekly uploads, he'd always upload really late at night though and stated how much he hated having a set time limit for videos. Phil was never consistent with uploading from the start. So I really don't see them starting weekly uploads with their main channels and more than likely their gaming channel as well. That hasn't been weekly since it started...
I mean it sucks with lack of content, yeah. The worst was back in June when we had no new content for about three weeks. But that was because they clearly didn't plan in advance, which shows they are really big procrastinators and that's their biggest flaw as creators.
To be fair about them doing weekly live shows, I'm pretty sure they make the same amount of money in younows that they would with weekly videos. And it also does provide weekly content for the fans from the both of them. It's not a YouTube video but it's still some type of content.
Alfie's content is basic most of the time, with daily vlogs and tag/challenges videos being the majority of his uploads. It's quick and easy to put out videos like that week to week. In my opinion, if Dan and Phil were to start doing that, people would become slightly irritated with them doing content like that as it becomes repetitive after awhile. Unless it was daily vlogging, but Dan and Phil clearly have no interest in that, which is understandable.
