I get what you're saying (I dont even like Alfie that much anymore it was just an example), I'm not complaining about the tour, I'm complaining that when they are not on tour they don't post much and that's the perfect time, if they are going to be busy doing a stage show for two and a half months and then come back home to not post something for another week it pisses me off a little bit, that's why I was so happy with the Diss Track video because it really showed effort and how talented Dan is and Philly's little vlogs always get a piece of my heart because they are so lovely, but yeah i wish they would have like an schedule.trashqueen wrote:the name alfie and written books in the same sentence, why, i don't think it's fair to compare tabinof to alfie's cheap copy of wreck this journal, and what exactly did he do on tour? sign autographs and a Q&A? (genuinely asking idk what he did but i don't think a stage show is the answer) but yeah, besides that and comparing them to almost every other youtube channel, their schedule is a mess, but tbh at this point i don't expect it to be better and i'm okay with that as long as they keep me entertained in some other way (if i'm bored i get extra bitchy that's not my fault), like non robotic tweets, and that the videos that they do put out are good, this year has been really hit or miss on that angle

I'll be the hater and say that video was boring because I was never a fan of the whole Undertale series. It doesn't help that Dan overreacts and Phil looks bored. Also, this kind of game highlights that Dan controls the pc games most of (all) the time. But I am getting used to that kind of set-up even though I hate it. People need their Dan moments. (sorry, I was just really disappointed.)
Please give me Pokemon Go! (or sims)
Regarding their late uploads: I live in different time zone so I get to watch their videos in the morning. Do they need to upload on a specific time zone?

I agree with this because very recently, I rewatch the first sims episode (aka the birth of Dil Howlter) and Phil complained about Dan buying a gaming keyboard that he finds so hard to use.Winston wrote:I thought mostly the reason Phil doesn't play it more is because he hates the keyboard and is slightly uncomfortable with playing the PC games in general. He has said negative things about it multiple times. The keyboard and the mouse. It's not his computer and is set up for left handed play (not that would be too hard to switch over) but it still would slow down the flow...He also doesn't seem too interested in playing (and sometimes watching).
I also agree that if he wanted to play, he will tell Dan he wanted to. He probably doesn't take control of the game this time because there are less sparing monsters and more exploring. Or maybe he just dislike Undertale in general. Haha. Curious question, what does Phil's fav genre of PC games in general?
This is super cute.crash[] wrote: Also, a side note that I forgot to mention: Tsundere!Dan is cute. CUTE

Wow so much hate for this video. I really liked it. Even Phil made me laugh like twice. It's not so much that I like the game- I just really like seeing them play it bc I find them charming/ funny.

Yes please give me more SIMS!!! Those two and a half months rewatching the spa episode really got me crazy, I loved the proposal episode but still, I WANT THEM TO GET MARRIED ALREADY, GEEZ. And yes I loved the Pokemon Go video, I thought it was so cute and I can't wait to see Dan's outfit for the ocasion.

THIS. I get really tired of the wah let Phil play thing. He's a big boy and I'm sure he's capable of doing it if he wanted to. They might even have agreed to do it this way so we can't judge and it's getting a bit tiresome for people to attack Dan for something they have absolutely no idea about, imo. But what's new hahaha. The poor kid usually can't do anything right anyway.Winston wrote:I thought mostly the reason Phil doesn't play it more is because he hates the keyboard and is slightly uncomfortable with playing the PC games in general. I liked this one a lot. I didn't notice Phil looking bored, though he did look particularly lovely a few times. Interesting how real he was when he told Dan "that was unnecessary" when Dan made some joke about Phil being a loser (doubly interesting as they used that to describe themselves with the tab/tatinof promos and in the Sunday Times article and it really rankled, it's so strong in its negativity). Dan said something else pretty obnoxious, I forget what now, but I can't imagine his throat is great after screaming until he sounded croaky. I do like him being loud and expressive, though, he makes some great faces.
I'm team leaving hot things to cool, hot water has always been too hot for me.
As always, loved the voices. I thought the pace was good, their chemistry and bants were great, and I preferred it being a bit shorter. A whole hour seems a real marathon, though usually I'm swept along with them pretty well.

I fell asleep while watching it. Just after Undyne made.the cup of tea. It must have been boring.
Undertale was one of the best games of last year and they don't seem to care anymore. Tbh I would rather them just stop and try something else they have made it seem such a boring game!
Dan needs to let Phil play though ffs. I know he is a control freak but its not like you can really mess up the game!
I suppose I better go watch the rest....

^I feel you, I think the same.
In response to human: I agree but they play most games on the pc and that means that Philly doesn't play that much anymore (I really loved his Shelter videos) and I want a bit of Philly and not for just voicing the Undertale characters. It's Dan and Phil games, but Phil hardly plays games. Never meant to attack Dan, loved his solo videos too like the Pokemon one and Outlast. I hope they do more Dan vs. Phils.

I felt bad for Phil and, at the same time, scared when Phil said that. He sounded serious. He seldom reprimands Dan in non-joking manner.flarequake wrote:I liked this one a lot. I can't remember if I shared my Undertale thoughts or not lol so I'm just going to copy what I whatsapp'ed Emma haha.
le sigh. I love it so much. I'm sure everyone else thought it was boring but I love how they get into it. Dan especially loves rp games and he's such an intelligent gamer too I could watch him play and work out stuff forever. I felt like Phil got a bit disinterested halfway through lol. but they're literally the best undertale played by on YouTube imo. they dig out so much more plot and characterisation than anyone else I'm so impressed. I almost feel undertale has earnt them a lot of respect in the gaming community because they're surprisingly dedicated to it for YouTubers who don't game full time and pewds got bored and even mark struggled to give as much of a damn with the storyline so it makes me feel very proud.
I'm really proud of this lets play for them tho. I feel like they put the bantz in to keep people interested who aren't gamers who just want some domestic phan tho lol

I'm not going to say more on the matter because I said it all already, I'm just here waiting patiently for them to upload a Sims video, those videos are my drug I cannot stop watching them, they're my favorite we think we know everything about them but with these videos we really get to know them in those specific things in life, like in the last one, it will be exciting to see their input on wedings, babies and stuff like that.

Just my two cents on the uploading times during Tour: I too was a tad pissed when I was a mere spectator of their schedule (or lack thereof), but now that we have learnt they must've been writing the second book, it puts things into perspective.

Yeah maybe that explains things but I hope is not book after book for just a way of not taking care of their youtuber career which is basically what got them where they are to start with

Nah, I don't believe they will publish more books besides this one on November, considering it'll be exclusively focused on their Tour. Or maybe I'm wrong and they end up publishing the DP cooking book, Phil's amateur gardening book, another book full of romantic ideas for your partner...karlitatvphan wrote:Yeah maybe that explains things but I hope is not book after book for just a way of not taking care of their youtuber career which is basically what got them where they are to start with

^Honestly I wouldn't be surprised, I mean Tanya Burr has a cooking book and that's not the first thing you say when you think about her, right?, hope the guys don't go that road *knocks wood*

The regular list of time stamps.
There were a lot of innuendos this video. A few times I was surprised at things Phil said.
The editing was rough. It was almost like they usually go through the video another time to smooth out the editing but they skipped it this time. Maybe because they were already so late to upload it.

How about instead of villainising Dan for "taking over" have a go at Phil for being overly passive? Just a thought... and it's not just on D&PG either.Winston wrote:I thought mostly the reason Phil doesn't play it more is because he hates the keyboard and is slightly uncomfortable with playing the PC games in general. I have a feeling if he really wanted to play, they are close enough that Phil could tell Dan that he wanted to and they could switch off. He tends to relinquish the power to Dan on a few things. (FNAF is an example, he decided he was done playing and would just supervise) I have faith that if Phil felt like he was being pushed around he would say something. He isn't a weak little boy, he is an intelligent man, dealing with his (gaming) companion, best friend, (business) partner and roommate of many years. I am sure he can take care of himself. I swear sometimes the way you guys talk about them, it sounds like you think Dan is the boss of Phil. It seems to me they have their relationship dynamic figured out pretty well, both taking over where their strongest and happily taking the passenger seat when the other is better suited for the task at hand.
On the other hand. Laid back sassy Phil who gently pokes fun at other YTers, swears (ish?) comes out with dick jokes/innuendoes and makes references to boys being tsundere and Papyrus muscles? Moar pls!!! (although maybe all that was only cos he knew he'd be editing?

i'm actually really happy it was undertale bc i love it, it also reminded me that i need to continue playing it as well
but i watched it at like 4am and was half asleep so i need to watch it again before saying anything about it, but i think i really enjoyed it the first time!
one of the few things i remember was the whole 'stroke of the sword' which was incredible though
and while i get that people can find it annoying or whatever when it's like only one of them playing, as people have already mentioned, i doubt it's just up to dan who controls it. if they couldn't even talk about things like that i don't think starting a gaming channel together was the best idea. but who knows~

I didn't love the Undertale video, but it was alright. Felt like watching them do voice acting for a children's book/cartoon. Like they tried, with voices and Papyrus T-shirt and making battles and puzzles look dramatic and exciting. But I agree that this series needs to be finished in one go. It seems ridiculous dragging it on for the whole year.
The one thing I liked about this video is watching react to each other's strange voices. Is anyone still keeping the score who made the other laugh more? I feel like Dan won this time (again) despite being sick, Phil was just so live and smiley.

Same here i watched it very late in the evening. I underestimated Dan's 1 am - 3 am productivity spike
I really liked the video. Undertale is a funny game and it works well with their gaming channel, which is about the bants anyway with gaming coming a distant second. Idk, tastes vary but i find the undertale series to be much more entertaining than the sims vids.
The way they game together really brings back childhood memories. I used to take turns with my brother playing games (we only had one pc, life was hard) and watching someone play was just as much fun to us. I remember friends staying over to sleep and in the mornings we just played games. Well one of us would actually have the controls and the other would 'provide council' on game decisions Don't nerd shame me k
I'm getting a similar vibe from Deppy, i don't really have the feeling Phil is bothered in any way that he's mostly just watching Dan play.
Actually, i thought their interaction felt pretty natural ( and filled with the usual tropes) and Phil really shone through for me. If you take a look at the swords comment frame by frame ( I've clearly got some issues) it's hilarious how you see Phil cracking out a smile while you see Dan visualizing the scenario a bit to vividly. Loved it.

Is it too much to hope for a joint liveshow today? Phil missed his last week and I'm guessing it would be the last time we see them before they leave for Aus
My stats say 7-6 to Dan, close callvincentian wrote:Is anyone still keeping the score who made the other laugh more? I feel like Dan won this time (again) despite being sick, Phil was just so live and smiley.
Insanely cute video. They made each other laugh and cracked up even at their own jokes, I care about nothing else today.
