New favourite DAPG video? I think so
Crash Bandicoot was one of my favourite games as a kid (actually it was one of the only games I was allowed to play... my parents were strict). Seeing this has really made me want to play it again. Aggghh I got so frustrated with Phil in particular at the beginning because wtf!! Why didn't he look where he was going!!!! He kept making the same mistakes in the same places!!! But then he was amazing in other places and got really far and I was so proud. Whyyyy did he censor himself swearing? Shelter is another one of my favourites on DAPG and tbh the swearing may be partly why.
Not to even mention all the funny and domestic bants!! Everything was top-notch. I loved this. What a comeback.
I'm all in on the newly moving theory
Dan & Phil Part 50: Should we kiss now?

i loveddddddd that gaming videooooooo oh my godddddddd. i love when they play video games rather than lil flash games and that definitely was worth the wait. so many things to talk about!!!!!
- phil swearing???? UH i thought it was going to happen in this video considering the warning at the beginning but it still felt so unexpected. i wonder if one day they'll uncensor his rare swearing, we can only dream.
- they were SO into that game it was hilarious???? i probably would've jumped off the nearest moving platform if i kept having to try over and over again but then again i haven't played video games in a few years and even then i'm a bit rusty.
- the amount of swearing dan did oh my god...... he really was into the game, huh?? it was very amusing just hearing him use the f-word 4+ times in one quick sentence lmao.
- the banter was hilarious and idk.... i just really liked that. especially when dan slipped up and said 'our mum' when they were Banting It Up, that was funny.
- also last thing: the editing was so funny?? with the little mix jamaican accent meme and black and white with sad music bit. i'm just sat here wondering who edited the video so i can give a round of applause.
tl;dr really loved the gaming video! it's probably one of my favs

I loved that video! So good!
About them potentially moving: I've been somewhat skeptical about them moving out again so soon, mostly because were were told all of these things about Dan sorting out his bedroom and the fact that they do seem to have gotten settled in to their new place. I've always figured they'd move on eventually, but not this soon.
HOWEVER, aside from what everyone here has been mentioning already, I think one of the major points in favour of them planning to move again so soon, is the fact that he did his tinder spon with his location set to where they live now. I feel like, as someone who takes so much care to maintain their privacy, and after having experienced first hand what it's like when people figure out their address, that he would think twice about putting them in a position where people could pinpoint their location like that. Granted, a kilometer is still a large area in terms of London, but it would make it significantly easier for people to work out where it is, if they were so inclined. But if they are in fact planning on moving somewhere else soon, then that would make more logical sense to me.
Or maybe I'm completely wrong and the tinder thing had nothing to do with anything!

hello hi wow i havent been here in forever. anyways here are timestamps. they are v messy and also v unedited i took them when i watched it on my second rewatch also i didnt quite double checked it. i really enjoyed the video i think it should take the best gaming video in boncas 2017. so anyways i tried to make it comprehensive but i think i missed out some key moments. enjoy~
thanks emma for telling me to clear my cache so that i can post this lol
Sign me up for the "They're Moving Again" conspiracy theory
I was really surprised when they moved in April and were continuing to rent. Their duplex is clearly very spacious and swanky and must be costing them an absolute fortune. Makes perfect sense that this is just a temporary move while finding somewhere to buy. What with the possible reveal of 'that week in March' very soon, there could be some interesting times coming up in the world of D&P and IDB
Back to the bandicoot - did I imagine Dan making a strange joke about flow and periods? I need to re-watch ASAP
Edit: thanks for the timestamps redelep, so there was a period joke at 7:54!

Okay, I googled because I'm curious (I really, really don't want to know WHERE they're living because I want them safe, but I wanted to know if this type of rental was common) London is the sort of city where you can be living there for a few months and then be moved on, there are rental companies that deal specifically in short term lets.
You have two young, rich af guys who need to move out of an unsafe apartment where you can literally google their exact address in under 2 minutes. They don't have to deal with it anymore, they're trying to buy a house house and it has a hitch. They have had their heart set on moving, and they can afford to just say 'fuck it' and move somewhere new for a few months. So they do.
I'm going to say this apartment is a test. How much can people work out? How much can they show without showing anything? We have photos from two bedrooms, a living room from a few angles including a window shot so we know they're high up, a kitchen, the gaming room, and a mysterious curved wall. And I've still not seen it narrowed down to anywhere beyond London (contrast to me knowing the specifics of the borough with their old flat almost as soon as I started watching them, just after they moved to London). I'm going to say that they're building sets in this flat. YouTube lives in these sets and I think they're testing to see if it works in a building that is safe. Especially with the Tinder spon and the location, if it was set to 1km, and people still haven't found/spread their location, it says a lot. THAT is a bold move that indicates that they're testing this out, imo. They couldn't do this experiment in the old flat because people would've noticed, and they simply didn't have to think about it when they first moved to London because London was anonymous. (and they had about 1/2 million subs combined) They can afford to do this now, and protect future privacy for a place they can't just fuck off from.
So what does that mean for now? I think they could be moving again. They don't have a lot of personal things out yet, and these two nested hard in their old place. It's possible they could be moving again. I definitely expect a move in the next few months tbh. It doesn't seem personal enough yet and they would be increasing the amount of personal things in their videos by now, surely. Especially Phil. Dan has more room because of the rebrand Either they're moving again, or its a set, or both.

After seeing Zalfies mansion I have been convinced D&P are in the process of their own home being built. I think they're fairly clever with money so to rent again is a bad move, such a waste of money. I am 100% certain they had to move whilst waiting for their house to be built.
Also, I did think this was what Dan said was stressful and to ask him in 5 months was about, but I really don't wanna hype that because it'll only make me when it's not (but lbr it totally is).

Ooh, thanks for mentioning Commander Keen. It rang a bell in my mind, but I don't remember it, then I thought to search for my old favourite from 1993 and found it, Secret Agent. I'm not sure if they've got all of it, but I played part one when I was 12, it was so good, looks so cute. I'm terrible with platform games usually, I have a PS4 but for the few games I'm willing to attempt. Bandicoot would drive me up the wall. Even watching this was a bit stressful, I also stopped watching the gameplay and watched them instead when it got really bad.
Wonderful time stamps, redelep. I'd already forgotten most of the cute parts I wanted to squee over on here, let's be real even before I went on a tweet-spree I'd forgotten them. I didn't notice Dan looking younger, I'll have to look out for it, though I often think that in his liveshows, as if it's him being more himself and relaxed does it. I thought his hair looked different, though, a little pushed back off his face. I liked it, anyway. There are some tshirts that make him look cuddlier, long-sleeved white ones do it, this one and that Sad Boys one, it must be the fit the long-sleeved tops have, I know I have some in a different size to short-sleeves tshirts. It doesn't take me much to want to hug him. His cute apology after his massive f- spree was adorable. I'd jokingly be tempted to smack his butt if I was a close friend playing it with him
(consent in all things). Phil calling him Daniel, yes, that was cute. Bossy Phil is always funny.
Phil and his sound barrier again. You stand your ground, Phil, it can indeed be about pitch if you want it to. Well, not really, but he can have some artistic license. So many close slides off the edge and banging into things snout-first, that timing really has to be right, or just luck if you go for it and keep bouncing up the disappearing steps.
I wasn't expecting I'd want to watch it again with those stressful bits, but the bants were so good, I will. I was surprised to be rewatching Anthony's video twice, it was that funny.
Interesting theories, especially sparkle's post. Certainly hope they do think about things like a 1km radius in a dating app. They can take their new furniture with them to a new place, a little splashing out on the piano and moon bed isn't wasted.
I'd love it if missemma's right, I mean that's the dream isn't it? If you have the cash, design your own perfect place and have it built where you like. I'm sure there are still compromises, but you can have it done all eco-friendly so it'll cost less in the long-term while it helps the planet and all that. Phil can have a moat with added safety features to stop him falling in. Who knows what game-inspired silliness you could incorporate if you really wanted to.
So glad we've got better things to talk about again. Also glad Phil's throat and voice have recovered, seems ages ago already. At first I was a little annoyed they were gonna let him having finished the game stop them playing it on the channel (can't you even start a new game if having collected all the mangoes etc makes it too easy? Are they mangoes? Apples? Idek) but after seeing how stressful this is, I don't mind if this is it. Funny to remember watching my family friends' kids playing the first version of this 15+ years ago, I don't remember it being so hard, I just thought the bandicoot character was a cute idea after seeing so much Sonic and Mario.

Okay, I don't think I'm putting my tinfoil hat on for the theory of them moving house so soon.
The hype of them moving months ago was justified, but now this is excessive. I'm going to stay grounded and remind people that house planning takes months and months, not only that but also getting planning permission to do so. Even extensions/large renovations require planning permissions and can face objections from neighbours. I know deppy are rich af but I don't think people are getting that you can't just order someone to build a few walls and stick a roof on top and suddenly it's done. There's a lot of planning and technical issues that go into the construction. Even if they bought a house, as it is, doing the place up, painting, getting furniture is very time consuming. I know saying "they're moving house" is just a bit of fun, but it's a bit of a fairy tale scenario, and they've only just moved from their old apartment.
I don't think it's in reasonable to even think it's possible, when the planning of something such to be executed should have been proposed at least over two years ago-when they were already busy with their tour! That, mind you was already a money gamble they had to work out to get funding. I only think it's safe to speculate that they might be planning their dream house NOW, but it won't be finished for several years smh
Anyway, I liked the video, Phil saying "I know how to play, Alan." was brilliant. This is definitely one of my favorite gaming videos this year.
EDIT: but anybody that suggested phan wedding, I'm here for that

I'm not saying I'm 100% on them moving in August - mostly this is just a lot of fun to talk about. But I feel like you're missing that the entire foundation of the speculation is that house buying/whatever takes a lot of time and involves a lot of setbacks and that's what they got hit with in March.000dia000 wrote:The hype of them moving months ago was justified, but now this is excessive. The theory people are building off of is that Dan and Phil were meant to move into a house in March (since Dan has twice repeated that something went wrong in March - maybe, as you said, objections from neighbors, or technical issues - and implied that eventually we'll know what it is) and something happened that delayed it by months. So yeah, I don't think anyone here is being unrealistic? Not when the concept is that moving into a house is the plan they've been working on since last October (or presumably sooner; that's just when they started hinting to us) and the apartment they're in now was a last minute switch when something with wrong with the house.
I don't think it's a hard and fast rule that a house requires two years, though. No one is saying they know for sure that Dan and Phil are building a house from scratch. And renovations take a different length of time depending on what the renovations are. Could be six months, could be a year, could be, yes, two years.
The dream: The year is 2018. Dan and Phil have moved into a proper house, and from what little the fandom can tell of it is it's big and sleek and quirky, but they still refuse to do a tour, and the fandom tries their best to respect their privacy but analyzes every detail we get. Phil has started filming his main channel videos in a study, and Dan says "the bedroom" in at least one video, and they act totally chill about it, even though the fandom is not chill at all. They have recently adopted a dog, and the fandom swears they are getting annoyed by the never ending stream of dog related content but collapses into a puddle of goo every time one of them posts a picture of the other with the dog, or tweets about something cute or silly the dog did. Cat comes through and posts a "Meeting Dan and Phil's DOG" video, which is 20 minutes of them being adorable with the new pup, showing off the tricks they've trained it and telling funny anecdotes. Dan's main channel has been posting a steady stream of content. He has done more collabs with PJ and Tomska and Anthony, and regularly posts random content to his side channel, usually chatty videos where he talks at length about one topic he is interested in. Phil has been slowly starting to wear his hair pushed back, and has gone through a beanie phase during the winter (which the fandom is sufficiently divided on their opinions of) and his content has started to become more creative. He has collabed with Jenna, and it was amazing, and ever since then he has been pushing the envelope and inching back to his weirder, more random videos. They had released a secret project to distract the fans while they moved house, and it was a silly but adorable and fun video game of some sort. They play it on the gaming channel. They have all but confirmed their relationship, and have started sporadically liking less than platonic fanart of them on twitter and tumblr (most memorably, Phil liked a very cute drawing of them and the dog, where Phil was holding the puppy and Dan was kissing Phils cheeks, captioned "their family is growing awwwh"). IDB is thriving, they are both glowing, making their mood in early 2017 look positively miserable by comparison.
I'll let myself out.

I recall a live show mention, I think. I was in the midst of finishing my thesis and graduating college so march-May is really just one giant blur for me.

I do want to point out that I don't see them as being "ready" to put time into a final home. That is a personal opinion, and I know that some people do see as being emotionally mature enough to do so, but I'm not too confident that they are. They seem to be in a place where I can see them *planning* this kind of long term thing, but certainly not at the end of it. I feel that the maturity they have today was not the kind of maturity they had two years ago (when they would begin to talk about settling down) when Dan and only Dan was being comfortable enough to make male attraction mentions. It seems a bit of a stretch that he would see so far into the future to assume that he would be comfortable enough in a few years time to be living in a "forever home" with Phil. I don't think so. I think Dan (and Phil, for that matter) would be terrified about their future and unsure of how open they would be with their audience. The current relationship we have with them as audience and creator may not have been what they were thinking.alittledizzy wrote: I'm not saying I'm 100% on them moving in August - mostly this is just a lot of fun to talk about. But I feel like you're missing that the entire foundation of the speculation is that house buying/whatever takes a lot of time and involves a lot of setbacks and that's what they got hit with in March.
Second, their tour consumed most of their time, so I don't see them actively participating in a second project and planning a future home during this time, and only seems actually realistic post-tour.
Also, them fixing up their "forever home" that they bought isn't *too* unrealistic, but unlikely, they only just moved. And they seemed to stress how they found moving strenuous and difficult, I feel like they wouldn't have put so much time into decorating their place and Dan bothering with background layouts for videos, if they weren't planning on staying in their current apartment for the foreseeable future. I'm sorry, but I don't see any house moving anytime soon in anyway possible.
I believe what they got hit with in March, was something we will hear about soon, but I don't think it's do with house-building and realistically only to do with the difficulty of moving/possible project. But like you said, the house speculation is only a bit of fun, but I just wanted to point out how building a home requires a lot of time and planning, something they haven't had up until this point, and something I think they seem only emotionally mature enough to do now.

*wipes tears* such a beautiful picture. Save this to wave in people's faces when it turns out you're right! A beanie phase... that might actually kill me.Loafer wrote:The dream: The year is 2018.

Also re building their own house. That will never happen. Don't believe me? Its not because they don't have the time or the money or the means. It is two simple words.

I think Dan also said in a month or so he can talk about why he refused another trip to Japan. And that places it in the same period when he said to ask him about the week in March. The question is why he can't talk about these things now, and only in August. Having to keeping quiet until a project is completed would make sense.000dia000 wrote: I believe what they got hit with in March, was something we will hear about soon, but I don't think it's do with house-building and realistically only to do with the difficulty of moving/possible project.

What have they said about that week in March?
"This is not children's television. I'm 26, I'm depressed, and I need edgy jokes to cope with my anxiety."

I would like to add that just because Dan said "This isn't a forever home" in response to someone's congrats in that joint ls, doesn't mean that the first home they do buy (or build) will literally be a "forever home" or "final home". I agree it is probably too early to settle down into *that* it's not too early to be homeowners (though I would hesitate using the term "starter home" for their situation. Dan also said "when a house is bought", "a house" feels a lot more casual.
Do I fear I'm getting my hopes up with this most recent wave of hype Yeah, I do. Alternative suggestions to the boxes being gone but no side tables replacing them? I think a project is more likely.
Loafer that's lovely.

i personally don't really think the boxes are significant, i'd just assumed that they decided they were ugly after all and removed them before getting something to put in their place.autumnhearth wrote:Alternative suggestions to the boxes being gone but no side tables replacing them? or they're doing a huge crafting/animation project for which they needed boxes exactly this size and sacrifices had to be made.
i'll get suspicious though if they don't put anything in the gaming background any time soon. they complained a lot about it looking ugly in the old flat and now they live under the assumption that a wide, empty room behind them looks better? hmmmm
conspiracy theory about the master of erotic massages thing: dan lurks on idb after all and just wanted to provide us with a thread name suggestion
thank's you were great
they could have been building some IKEA ones? Capitalised on Mr Lester feeling better and filmed it in the middle of furniture building? Like Dan has being sorting things out waiting for Phil to recover so decided to be productive in making their environment nicer? Video is a bit more zoomed in to hide the random building crap left on the side?autumnhearth wrote:I would like to add that just because Dan said "This isn't a forever home" in response to someone's congrats in that joint ls, doesn't mean that the first home they do buy (or build) will literally be a "forever home" or "final home". Also, is this the same shirt Phil wore in his live show the other day? So maybe they filmed that day when he felt better after the dentist, which would make sense why they were gone if they weren't planning on using the room. And he left the show early so not to damage his larynx from filming/he'd filmed the video and didnt want to over exert himself but wanted to do a ls so we know he's not dead but know he actually had laryngitis (car horn Phil was cute)
