Top of the page, cool. While I'm here I want to say that it's so fun to see so many new people here, both on idb and in the phandom in general. After months of people slowly leaving for different reasons I love seing some new usernames!

I read an AMA by a code solving specialist on reddit yesterday that seems oddly fitting: "I have had people call me at all hours of the day and night, usually because they've moved the Scrabble pieces around, found the word "the", and now want to "hand it off to me" to solve the rest. The most common method is literally that, they'll take a cipher, move all the letters around, find a message in English that they like, and then they'll just conveniently ignore all the other letters!"

Also, I've just examined the freckle placement against my own arm and I have freckles in exactly those two places, as well as several others that match up fairly well to the other freckles on Phil's arm.

Hello everyone. I've been lurking around here for years (years!!!), but honestly, between Phil's-arm-gate 2019 and Dan using insta to promote Phil's butt, I had to make a post. I've been laughing about these two losers all morning - I can't believe this week has delivered so much and the convention content hasn't even happened yet.

(I guess I should intro myself slightly: I've been quietly watching d&p since ~2014. I can't even remember how I found them - I think youtube recommended a Dan video and I just accidentally fell down the rabbit hole of content and phandom from there. I genuinely never thought they would actually come out - certainly not in the way they did. I almost had heart failure last month. It was a lot. I'm so devastatingly proud of them both and incredibly glad the drought is finally over. I've missed them both!)

I don't even know what to expect from the rest of this week, all bets are off at this point. Although as long as we get some more solid gay jokes, I'll be happy as a clam tbh. The post coming out universe is truly a beautiful, beautiful thing.

I've been dreaming of a dnp podcast since Rhett and Link came out with Ear Biscuits. It'd be the perfect medium for them: it gives them the long-form discussions of a YouNow stream, but in a more controlled and scripted environment environment, WITHOUT the cringey audience participation. And I don't care what the show's theme would be; I could absolutely listen to them jabber on about anything under the sun and be perfectly content.

ALSO, prime opportunity for a recurrent sponsorship deal. I'd honestly be surprised if at least Phil hadn't raised the idea already...

Truth. I have some of the same. Re: Dan’s walking Insta (just because I’m amused) you know they both don’t have to have rings if they are engaged.

No, I’m more curious about where/when/why/how this photo shoot was done. Was this particular merch not ready when he dropped the skeleton shirt? Or was the “back from the dead” always meant to be an appetizer? If it is the former, how last minute was this? Could the photo shoot just have been done in the last few days? I do get dropping merch for a con, but yeah the shipping aspect really sucks.

It would have been funnier if Dan’s badge has his name in brackets. Do you suppose they’ll make him a new one?

I truly hope there will be a livestream of Dan’s panel, whether official or not. I think I saw a fan say they would be providing that service a few weeks ago. It’s not quite 6 am there so there’s time to breathe.

It might be recorded and put on the vidcon youtube channel later; not that that helps us today as they’re not usually very quick about it... but I’m sure some fans will provide details. It’ll be nice to see an official, HD version once vidcon get around to posting it, though.

A friend of mine is a streamer (twitch) and I fucking haaaate audience participation. Some of it is just so cringe. I think if you're doing it solo it's good, because it keeps the conversation going, but if you're in a pair/more you really shouldn't need it. Would much prefer to just have them chat about things they've been up to and topics going on in the world and maybe getting some LGBTQ icons in for a bit of sofa chat. Dream podcast tbh.

I'm under the impression that the merch is something charity related. It makes sense that it'd be released today as the mental health pannel is taking place and it'd provide a reason for why it wasn't included on the previous release with such short time inbetween. But guess we'll see.

I completely agree about audience participation in streams, drive's me crazy everyone wanting shootouts and to be noticed, it's as bad as the youtube comment section.

In all honesty I'd be happy with any hint at joint content on a semi regular basis and if I can get a selfie of just the two of them I'd be eternally grateful.

IDB went down for an hour and naturally that caused a content dump.

Is IDB back? If so, that was a very short down-time, and yet while it was down Dan tweeted, Instagramed, dropped new merch, and both Dan and Phil's and Dan and Phil Productions account/tax statements dropped 3 months early on Companies House (why? ).

I love Dan and I'm happy for him, I normally wear a lot of black, but this aesthetic is not for me. I loved his skeleton merch, this just doesn't do it for me.

VidCon has signed posters of them for sale, a Dan and a Phil. (edit: apparently Dan's is just his skeleton drawing) I'm curious why there's no joint merch whatsoever, and no joint poster. I suppose it's all outdated but surely they know people would throw money at it like crazy.
