I've popped my main forum cherry now and I don't know how to feel.

By the time I woke up your message was several hours old and the link was already spreading on tumblr so I figured it was fine, and to be fair you had at least made a post a couple of weeks back when the forum opened. It's the people who literally delurk, have 0 posts and PM for information within 5 minutes of registering that are a bit infuriating

If he wanted to work in media, a degree regardless of what it's in, would be required. He may not have planned to use the degree specifically, but it's a pretty good general degree for work in the media. He may have also realized halfway through his degree that he didn't want to use it, but figured he'd finish it so the years he did put into didn't go to waste.

Other people's mileage may vary, BUT. Early/mid 2000s when I was going through A/AS-Levels at a grammar school in NW England, it was expected, almost to the point of being mandatory that you would apply to Uni, even if you had little/no idea of any end-goal career-wise. I knew I wanted to go on and study languages, as it was what I had always been best at academically (Did French, German, Computer Studies (mistake!) and Music at A-Level) and got into my first-choice uni/course, but a LOT of my friends felt a bit pressured more into APPLYING to uni, rather than thinking about potential careers and how their choice of degree course would affect that. With the result that my two best friends had very different opinions of Uni: one did Joint Honours English Language and Media Studies, and now writes synopses (synopsises? IDEK... what is English?! ) for TV magazines, the other did English and Creative Writing, and is now an assistant store manager for Pets at Home.
It's nigh-on impossible to change course past your first semester at Uni in the UK, at least where/when I was studying, so I can understand and empathise with Phil knowing that he'd come away with a qualification he'd likely never use, apart from proving that he had the capacity to study a subject to a particular level. He then went and did a post-grad in Video Production/similar, didn't he? Much more relevant and useful for him.

yeah, it might be different in the uk but where i live people who work in the media have the most random degrees, from law to interior design, it's more about selling yourself and making people take you seriously than anything else, and any degree fulfills the 'i am a smart person' category, sometimes i feel like i'm doing something wrong by actually studying communications

re: sly!phil, yessss i am so here for this, also guys, 'evil' is not a slytherin trait (smh, offended slytherin right here), the actual characteristics are ambitious, cunning and resourceful, i think that when talking about hogwarts houses it's about the motivations behind your actions more than anything else, and i feel like phil's really slytherin in that sense, although it looks like he values hufflepuff traits above anything else

and since we're on it, i can see dan as a gryffindor, but to be he's more of a hufflepuff pretending to be a slytherin (and phil a slytherin pretending to be a hufflepuff?)

Phil is such a diva now having a hair dresser at home I am more surprised that it took him this long to use house call service. Jesse PVP uses house call all the time and so does some of the youtuber such as Tanya.

The other day some friends of mine and I were trying to decipher these rules and we made some progress. I wanted to know if any of you can make out anything or have any input/corrections?

Here’s what we have so far. The blue parts we're pretty certain about, the purple part is more iffy:
