Wow, there's a lot of discussion that has happened. I didn't read through all of it, and last night decided to simply enjoy the video without coming here to read opinions - I am glad I did that now.
Re: Agorophobia: I see some people saying that if Dan can still leave the house, or if he can do so without needing meds or therapy, it can't be "real" agorophobia and he is not allowed to talk about it like it is.
1. We don't know whether Dan is on meds or does therapy.
2. mental illnesses come in varying degrees. If for you, agorophobia means you literally can't leave the house, that's what it is. If for Dan it means he can leave the house, but he has great anxiety and maybe panic attacks while doing so, it still is agorophobia. Just because someone else is suffering less or differently than you doesn't make their experience invalid.
I try to take Dan's word for it. He has talked about different mental health problems mutliple times, using the terms of social anxiety and now agorophobia in specific. He does sometimes do that in that way of his where I find it hard to read how much it's meant as a joke, and how much truth stands behind it. I still wish for a honest video in which he just says guys, this is what it is. But for now I just watch and listen and I don't feel like I have to know definitely whether he has those issues or hasn't. It's something he relates to, but if he wants to talk about more clearly and "confirm" it properly, he will. Until then I will just see it as a possibility that I find likely.
edit: @citizen_erased said it probably better
Re: The Video: it was so good, I laughed so much, SO MUCH PHIL CAMEO OH HECK, so many nice sketches, so many ridiculous stories!! I often thought he exaggerated those things when he's mentioned them, but he really did struggle so much, didn't he. oh Dan.
Even if I sometimes wish for different content, the way he creates videos is something I really enjoy. He puts sooo much effort into them, with all the sketches, and all the stories he tells and little things in the background that you only notice if you pay attention - and the editing, he always edits them really great. I think he's got a fantastic creative mind, and I adore him.
Okay let's get this party started (realizes the party has already started and moved on to discussing mental health, while I spent hours writing this. I'm honestly more concerned for my own sanity than the discussion of Dan's). I'm going to be comparing lots of pics from several videos. I can't promise I will have a strong conclusion on layout (floor plan) based on these, but it's fun to analyze.
Personally I think they own one duplex with an upstairs and a downstairs. They use both levels for living to an extent, though the downstairs seems more for filming and the upstairs more for living. I don't believe in a separate apartments theory, unless you are referring to just upstairs and downstairs, which I guess if Phil sleeps in the AP room and Dan's room is upstairs it is possible, but then why is Phil always in Dan's lounge and kitchen for his liveshows? Better lighting and pigeon viewing I guess. I think this duplex could allow for separate living spaces, I just don't think the boys use it that way. So below is what we know or can guess about the floors.
The downstairs contains:
the slounge- with sofa crease, Muse poster, Hulk and Iron Man art, broken ampersand lamp, red pixel mirror, maybe a fireplace, a tv, some gaming consoles, various white shelves and goodness knows what else, flooring material unknown, but my bet is on white tile.
the dinof video background aka Dan's glass closet- located directly off of the slounge, behind a partial glass wall, with desk, computer, white butt chair, light bulb lamp, message sign, some cool zen stuff, overhead white cabinets for storage, a grey metal filing cabinet/safe thing with magnets on it, what looks like a printer/scanner/fax machine though this could have moved, and white tile flooring.
the gaming room- with desk, two rolling chairs, multiple computers, cords and shit, a black futon, a full closet featuring onsies and more cords and shit, because remember it was a bedroom, red cabinets, white tile flooring, an interior hallway with dark wood door and maybe something else located off of it.
the AmazingPhil room- with the trademark AP bedding, Wirrow poster, Bryony cat art, Howl's Moving Castle poster, various knick-knacks and stuffed animals that reside on a dresser and two bedside tables that were left by the previous tenant, side tables may or may not be floating, a window, heating panel thingy, a closet, a mirror, and at least one curved corner, oh and white tile flooring.
at least one bathroom, probably the one seen in ‘A Hungry Sleepless Night With Phil’ featuring slate looking dark greyish greenish tiles, a slightly curved wall by a dark wood door whose handle is hopefully now fixed.
a hallway- with multiple doors off of it, one of which is light and has a different handle, and two of which are rich warm wood, a mirror/wall art with multiple mirrors pointing in different directions hung above a wooden ledge/shelf that is the same color as the two doors on either side of it and you guessed it, white tile flooring.
a kitchen(ette) with dining area in or adjacent to it- featuring an empty fridge, a yellow wood table surrounded by their color chairs, with a dark grey partially curved wall behind it, round metal hanging lighting, and a balcony off of it, glass door is by the table, with those vertical slat blinds, oh and white tile flooring)
maybe possibly the moon room, though I am not sold on this, as it features amongst other things light yellow wooden flooring.
The upstairs contains:
the formal lounge- with light yellow wooden flooring, grey linen sofa, at least one matching club chair, a shiny white coffee table, maybe a grey furry foot floof, a grey rug of some luxurious material, a big curved tv, with various tech underneath and next to it, giant windows at multiple angles with probably sliding taupe window coverings, a white tower shelf of board games with awards on top, a low table with lava lamp, zen stuff, Wirrow painting propped on it, and drawers underneath, all against a white wall that starts a lovely curve), this is open to...
a kitchen- with white table, dark elegant chairs, grey cabinets, at least two glass cabinets, a range with glass hood and stainless exhaust, a fridge with grey wood panel covering it, probably a washer/drier with white wood panel covering it, at least some white walls, recessed lighting, three tall windows, with unknown window coverings, one of which has a handle on it and probably leads to a second balcony, some tall sticky outy ledge thing in light grey that partially covers one of the windows, sometimes a drying rack and if I'm not mistaken, light yellow wooden flooring.
the piano nook- featuring one white electric piano with headphone jack, I forget the brand/model, with dark wood shelves above featuring dvd box sets, books and a stolen angry emoji pillow, a white desk with a hopefully no longer water logged computer and a clickity clackity gaming keyboard, a nice lamp, an upholsted grey bench with possible storage under the cushion seat, floor to ceiling windows with taupe shades of the same variety as the lounge, a white shelf with BONCA awards, maybe terrariums and formerly some board games, also previously rock band, this nook, specifically the desk, is next to a stairwell with partial glass walls and metal railings, and freaky wooden steps and maybe suspension cords and white beams that is oddly industrial but doesn't look convenient to hauling furniture, so I'm guessing that both levels have access to the hall and elevators, or perhaps there is an interior elevator...
an entry way area- with big white possibly exterior door, normal size wooden interior door, not the same as ones downstairs, a little alcove with plant with a hinge on the wall that may belong to a door that is painted the same color of the wall and light yellow wooden flooring.
probably a guest bathroom- but you know, maybe not.
maybe possibly the moon room aka the master bedroom, with most likely an en suite bathroom, large white closet, curved grey wall, at least two windows whose coverings are supposedly never opened, a white framed full length mirror, a shoe rack, metal moon chair, two floating white side tables, a floating white bed, moon mirror, silver cow hide rug, gilded silver mirror and light yellow wooden flooring. But maybe it's the exception to the downstairs flooring rule (bathrooms of course are different).
Let's start outside! Very interesting, I'm guessing rather distinct siding, some note worthy reflections that I have no idea what to make of. Why is that plant all tied up? It's friend has lots of yellow leaves. Plant abuse! This image shows the white tile floors very clearly. And note the vertical slat blinds.
This is probably filmed on the other side of the door to the balcony, though I suppose there could be other windows with these blinds on the lower level. Damn rowing!Daniel
I do think that this room (downstairs kitchen/dining) opens up to the balcony, note the metal handle (sliding glass door?) and possible blind to the left. He is sat at a wooden table with grey translucent chair. Which can be seen below.
The wall has a slightly more purple tinge, but I think it's just the lighting, it's the same table and chairs, note the curved wall and white tile flooring in the bottom right corner.
Same wall perhaps, or at least in the same general area? If this is the second kitchen, the kool-aid makes sense. Note the metal hanging light(s).
Same wall? Same light? I love this shot.
Empty immaculately clean fridge, as if it has never been used. Sure there are other theories: just cleaned before vacation, emptied and cleaned especially for this video for that nice grocery store feel or so they aren't judge by their fridge contents, the boys never cook and actually get take away all the time so their fringe has always been empty (contradicted below), they are moving right now, or people are moving them while their on vacation, but honestly I think second unused fridge makes the most sense in context. Unfortunately this shot is so close up, it's hard to truly know this fridge's location. But it can't be the same as the one downstairs, see below:
Dare to compare. Oh! Unless one of these images is flipped (which based on Dan's fringe and the writing they aren't), the two fridge's appear to open on different sides! Also I'm pretty sure that is light yellow wooden flooring he is sat on, which matches up well with the screen shots below.
I know the lighting itself is pretty yellow, but that's not a white tile floor in that kitchen, which makes perfect sense as it flows from the upstairs lounge.
Second shot of the upstairs kitchen with clear shot of the table, chairs and windows, the center of which has a door that probably leads to a balcony, but not the one seen at the beginning of Dan's video. Note no visible window hangings.
So this is curious. At first I assumed this white tile was the downstairs flooring, but then why are there glasses of water on the floor? Could this instead be the surface of one of their countertops?
Close up of tiles, what is going on in the background? I don't think it makes sense as a floor. Any ideas?
Alright "Daniel's Room". So I guess this battered name plaque from Dan's old room could be hanging on the door to the moon room... but I'm not so sure. I think it's a perfect prop for this video, to stand in for his dorm room. I guess I just don't want to imagine it as a permanent fixture on the outside of the master bedroom. My poor little shipper heart would rather picture that adorable Dan & Phil cross stitch that was hanging on the master bedroom door of the tour bus. Maybe he switched them out for the video. Maybe that door isn't even to the moon room. Maybe he likes rubbing it in Phil's face that he got the bigger room, but still let's him sleep there sometimes. Maybe I'm in denial. But worth noting are the very grey walls, the rich warm doors that can be found downstairs and what is that odd metal square with circle inside it in the bottom right hand corner. It reminds me of the handle on an airplane lavatory. UK people please help me understand!
While we're showing doors, let's do the hallway. Three visible doors, two of which are dark, one of which is light, smaller and maybe has a handle like that odd metal thing I was asking about above. The walls are white, the floor tiles are white. It is unlikely that "Daniel's Room" is in this hall, unless there is an accent wall where the camera is.
Is this the same door seen above? It seems to be the same color and size, though the door handle is clear here. It looks like we are looking around a large corner, but I think the camera is just really close to the door frame... or maybe not. This bathroom could be upstairs, maybe in the moon room. One thing is clear however. It is not the same bathroom seen in 'A Very Sleepless Night With Phil'.
Different door, different handle, and note the curve tile wall.
Hinge side of the door.
Mirror shot with clear shot of the shower.
Not the same tile in my opinion. So the shower vodka facial footage and the girl winking footage seem to be filmed in the same bathroom, but it's different from the one seen in 'A Sleepless Night With Phil'
You can see the shower tile and the an additional maroon tile.
Let's see what else. Well there is the wash/dryer footage. I do think it would make sense for a washer/dryer to be in their upstairs (main) kitchen, since the drying rack was in there during Dan's ls, but I'm not convinced that there isn't another one downstairs and that's what we're seeing here. First of all the panel covering it and next to it is white, not grey (the upstairs fridge and kitchen cabinets appear to be grey though there could be white ones on the other side) and...
I'm guessing this shot is taken right next to it (though I guess those could be any of the white storage doors, I'm going to assume that he did the shots together and did travel upstairs and back downstairs for them). White tile flooring, probs downstairs.
The safe/filing cabinet thingy I mentioned, in Dan's video background.
Note glass door and the reflection of the slounge. As for as we know this is the only entrance to the dinof room.
I don't see how this solid wooden door with Dan's room plaque could also be to this room and I don't see glass or curtain in that shot, just solid grey wall. What do you all think? Looks solid, albeit confusing to me.
I have more screen shots but this is getting so long. I did want to include this one, lifted from a video of scenes from the Tinder Spon (rip) This appears to be an entry area upstairs (note the flooring) note also the different doors (weird hinge on wall, bottom left corner). While the light brown door looks the same as the one in Dan's moon room, the hinges are on the wrong sides.
Personally I see no physical evidence for a third floor, except some confusing mentions in liveshows that may have been to throw us off from sleeping arrangements, but could also have been genuine. If there is a third floor I suppose it could hold the moon room (plus six more floors of just storage), but honestly the two living spaces we know about seem pretty big, having the master bedroom on it's own level seems a bit odd, but not inconcievable, as their last apartment proved.
I'm copying my thoughts on the room plaque out here, since someone brought it up: Alright "Daniel's Room". Maybe I'm in denial.

thank you for understanding and agreeing, gohomohowell I think him constantly saying that he never leaves the house and the way he obviously jokingly says how "oh wow guys can you believe i went outside last week omfg how unusual is that wow!1!" is the only thing that really upsets me about his humour/coping mechanism, because I personally have been dealing with that for the past few years. if he gets anxious when he has to go somewhere but he manages to do it without any sort of medication/therapy, then it's absolutely not a severe situation, but he always makes it sound like for him being outside of his house is terrifying. which it obviously isn't in his case, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to do all the things he does regularly, as a job or not. and yeah, it really sucks and can limit your everyday life so much, in every aspect of it. all I'm asking from Dan is to be a bit more considerate and more clear, since he decided to bring up such a serious mental illness into discussion. there's no need to throw serious diagnoses lightly. I think it's not too much to ask.
Except we don't know how many things he might've cancelled, we don't know how bad and how anxious he feels before doing anything, we don't know how often he might need encouragement from other people to do something anyway. We don't know if (and if yes how often) he relies on Phil to do things for him. We know so little about how he feels and thinks, how can you judge whether or not this is a severe situation? And is he only allowed to talk about it if it's severe?
I have to say, some of these posts here sound very "you don't have it as bad as I do therefore you don't count", as if this is a race and if you're not the winner, if you don't have it the absolute worst, you shouldn't say anything at all and you're just exaggerating. And that, in itself, is incredibly damaging.
"Dan can't joke about not wanting to leave the house because I have the real disorder and therefore I know best" is what I'm getting from some of you, and that's so decidedly untrue and so damaging. Especially if you do have mental health issues you should know better than to expect everyone to feel the exact same way as you do all the time.
I get what you're saying, but please, reread my original posts:
all I'm asking from Dan is to be a bit more considerate and more clear, since he decided to bring up such a serious mental illness into discussion.
and also:
maybe if he actually makes a video discussing mental health I could understand him better, because so far I just don't get when he's serious or when he simply tries to be edgy/is being extra over-dramatic for comedic effect.
I don't think you can change the way I feel about his mention of agoraphobia, nor do I believe my opinions are damaging, since what I said is actually correct. his case is not severe (he himself called it "mild") and he makes it sound like it is, which upsets me, and I have the right to feel that way. but you're entitled to your own opinion as well. just because I want him to clarify his comment without using 10069625 shades of sarcasm doesn't mean I'm attacking him or am trying to say his mental health experiences/issues aren't valid or are less valid than mine.
gohomohowell wrote:I don't like it either because agoraphobia is serious and calling it mild shows that this is perhaps him self-diagnosing. It's like people saying "oh, I'm a bit bipolar". God, I get annoyed by self diagnosers
Just popping in to say that I think shitting on self diagnosers is horrible. Not everyone has access to the kind of health care you need in order to get a diagnosis, some people don’t get a diagnosis because their doctors are shit at what they do, some people are afraid to see a doctor at all which can be a symptom of the very mental health issue they’re not getting diagnosed. My depression went undiagnosed for years. I still had it. Severely at times. Most people know when there’s something wrong with them and if they have the resources to educate themselves on mental health issues they also have an idea what’s wrong with them. See, if I break my leg and don’t go get it diagnosed I still have a broken leg and I also know that my leg is probably broken. Self diagnosed mental illnesses are still mental illnesses and they aren’t less real just because they haven’t been diagnosed (yet) so this discourse about how self diagnosers are annoying and are probably just faking it needs to stop. You’re telling mentally ill people they deserve to not be believed and to be ridiculed, how is that cool?
As in Dan’s case… he’s said he has social anxiety, I think that’s pretty much a confirmation. Unless you think Dan doesn’t know his own mind well enough which I hope is not the case. To be honest, Dan would have to be very committed to the “relatable” act in order to fake social anxiety this well for this long. And even if it’s just a mild case – it’s still social anxiety. This is not the mental health olympics, mild mental health issues are still mental health issues. Dan using the word agoraphobia probably means he experiences agoraphobia and why would he not? Look, I know the drill. “But he goes outside, so he doesn’t really have it!” Like, this is not how it works. You can have a mild case of a mental disorder and still have a mental disorder. And everyone copes differently anyways. I feel like people compare the way mental illness affects them to others quite a lot and if the other person doesn't cope with their mental health issues the same way they tend to think it's not real and I think that needs to stop. Some people with agoraphobia can't leave the house. Others totally do leave the house but feel uncomfortable the whole time. Both are valid. None are fake.
gohomohowell wrote:I'm really not liking the atmosphere. You can't give any criticism about Dan and Phil without people getting offended in the masses and not offering to agree to disagree.
I hate to say this but I find it ironic how you keep bringing up that people can't take criticism on here but everytime someone disagrees with you you get like this. I disagree with people on here quite a lot. Actually I'm sure everyone's super annoyed with me for it by now but I still think this is a great community with many diverse opinions. If someone disagrees with you, they disagree and that's that. You can't force people to agree with you. And disagreeing is not rude. Also quite a lot of people actually agreed with you so it's not like you're alone with your opinion at all.
EDIT: Because the last post made me angry. Sis, you're not the only one with severe mental health issues on here. In fact a lot of us have come forward and shared our experiences with mental health issues. You're not a vulnerable person being attacked for no reason. People just simply don't agree with you on this. These things literally affect a lot of us and we deserve to have opinions about them that differ from yours just as much as you deserve to have yours. Yeah, I'm sad you're leaving because of this. But I'm also quite a bit miffed right now that you seem to think other mentally ill people don't get to have an opinion if it differs from yours. And just to make this very clear because I know it's hard to remember sometimes: I have nothing against you as a person. I don't even know you. I'm just not agreeing with some of your opinions and I think that's true for everyone on here. No one hates you or anything.
Okay let's get this party started (realizes the party has already started and moved on to discussing mental health, while I spent hours writing this.

A lot of you should know a lot better but instead, you belittle vulnerable people in groups for expressing opinions about things that literally affect them. I'm not asking for any apologies, but this has to not happen next time. Please enforce more rules against mass-quoting something and attacking someone for an opinion that breaks no rules and harms no one else on the board. Or at least, keep people from feeling like shit everytime they go to check the discussion and end up either anxious about posting anything in fear or feeling crap about themselves because they've just been implied to have no understanding of mental illness, no empathy, dumb, childish and so on.
This is a discussion forum, the point is to quote and respond to people. Literally nobody here is attacking you; disagreement (especially calm and well-explained disagreement which is all I'm seeing from people) is not attack. And just imo, it does harm people to hear that they shouldn't discuss their own experiences with their own mental and emotional health without first waving their prescriptions around or doing a psa about their diagnoses and whatever. Or if they haven't been diagnosed (or don't want to bring that aspect up at all, whether they have or have not), to be told they have no right to discuss their experiences at all in terms they're comfortable using. Armchair diagnosing goes both ways and you're arguing that terms Dan has used for himself are incorrect, based on nothing. I find that harmful. And saying that is not an attack on you, it's a disagreement with the way you've used words, just as you've disagreed with the way Dan has used words. Did you consider yourself to be attacking him while registering your disagreement? People don't love you or hate you, they're just responding to specific things you've said on a forum meant for discussion. If you don't want to discuss things with a bunch of people, then do what's best for yourself and don't, but don't think you're being chased away by a bunch of angry irrational people because that's not what's happening here.
First off, thank you autumnhearth for that incredibly detailed roundup of what we know about the flat! It does make more sense reading it all together now and I think you've probably got the layout pretty much right, but I'm keeping a special place in my heart alive for the crackpot two-flats theory!
Mental health discussion
I skimmed so I'm assuming other people have already said this way better than me, but I'm weighing in cos I have agoraphobia also (I feel very 'cheery' - for want of a better word - that others on this forum have it - I've never interacted with anyone else who's suffered with these issues, and it makes me feel a lot less alone).
You can be diagnosed with 'mild agoraphobia'. That's currently what I am diagnosed with. I used to have 'severe agoraphobia where I couldn't go anywhere outside my house/I could only go to 'safe zones' and then it was kind of medium for a while, and now it's mild - so mild I don't usually notice it unless I'm having a bad mental health day or I'm sick or stressed so it comes out. It's perfectly possible Dan was diagnosed with 'mild agoraphobia' and is being treated with anti-anxiety meds/talking therapy (or not, depending on what he wants to do). I think if he's outright stated he has that issue we should assume he does unless he says otherwise.
HOWEVER. I still feel a bit uneasy about his jokes surrounding the topic. I get that it's his way of coping and he's entitled to that, but he has a large fanbase, a lot of whom are young and impressionable, and might struggle to separate the joke and the condition, leading them to think 'I don't like going outside either, I must have agoraphobia too' (lots of people prefer to stay inside, especially when they're hormonal teenagers but I think we can all agree this is different from an actual mental health condition), or thinking that it's 'cool'/relatable to have this issue because Dan has it. Because that's the tone his jokes have - the 'I'm just like you!' tone that I talked about in a previous post.
Having said that, we then get into the issue of whether or not D&P are role models and whether or not they should have to be which is an entirely different discussion altogether and covers far more than just mental health. I would be interested to hear thoughts on that if anyone has them.
EDIT: I also wanted to add that I think the main problem is that he drops a term like 'mild agoraphobia' which is still quite a big deal, and then doesn't say anything else about it, leaving us all here scratching our head going 'does he have it?' 'was he officially diagnosed?' 'but he leaves the house!' 'how mild is mild anyway?' - I'm not saying he has to explain himself I'm just saying that a lot of the speculation around D&P comes from lack of information and Dan knows that. And that's why I hope if he does a mental health video, he is detailed and informative in a way that isn't invasive for him.
Pewdiepie drama
Last time this came up I was one of the minority that thought Felix was just making a bad joke and trying to be edgy, and didn't see why D&P would want to/have to stop being friends with him. This feels different to me though. If one of my friends used that word so casually, there is no way I would believe they weren't racist, and I don't think I'd be able to keep being friends with them as a result. I hope Dan and Phil feel the same way about Felix now but I appreciate it's not as black and white as that when you're friends with someone. And again this goes back to the rolemodel thing. Do they have to stop being friends with someone for the sake of looking good to their audience? No. Do I hope that they feel morally that they can't be friends with him anymore? Yes.

Hey, if you're interested in the apartment keep reading
I tried to put everything together that we know so far from the pictures they posted
and it's a lot actually...personally don't know more about the layout but it's still interesting.
I'm off work for weeks I'm sick and bored...soo yeah spent my time laying in bed searching for the pictures (don't judge me )
Wow this is such a great compilation! I had been thinking about making one myself but I was for sure I would've missed something. Even now I'm sitting here thinking there has to be more(!!!) but I'm pretty sure that's just wishful thinking and me feeling a bit frustrated from not understanding their M.C. Escher palace.
The thing that I'm really stumped on is the two fridges and just how aesthetically different the bottom floor and top floor seem to be. The bottom floors seem much more 'dated' in comparison to how modern the top floor is.
Unless like some others have speculated the top half already came furnished and the bottom half was unfurnished? I know when Dip & Pip moved they talked about how everyone would miss their iconic furniture, so maybe they planned it this way so the flat would seem more "familiar" to the audience. Maybe they originally planned to only film downstairs? As Dan did say the Internet was "never supposed to see" the moon room.
I'm leaning towards the theory of upstairs is actual living space, downstairs is all for filming / working.

I do think it would make sense for a washer/dryer to be in their upstairs (main) kitchen, since the drying rack was in there during Dan's ls, but I'm not convinced that there isn't another one downstairs and that's what we're seeing here. gohomohowell wrote:I don't like it either because agoraphobia is serious and calling it mild shows that this is perhaps him self-diagnosing.
THIS! I didn't go the doctor until I almost hit rock bottom and even then I didn't have the guts to call the professionals the doctor told me to call. Which resulted in me hitting rock bottom a few weeks later. I was so afraid of talking to someone, of telling my parents, of people asking questions, of basic human interaction. I am still scared of most of those things. I'm not diagnosed with any kind of anxiety disorder, only depression, but I know I have anxiety. In fact, the anxiety is most likely causing my depression. Self-diagnosing based on a lot of research and having real trouble in day to day life and not based on that relatable depression meme is valid and can be very helpful.
I really loved the video but I am not in the mood to talk much right now. Just wanted to highlight this part of Katka's amazing post.
staying back from the current discussion, but wanted to say Katka your post was incredibly comforting to read for many reasons.
Also, unimportant observation, after seeing Phil's colored in drawing my first thought was to call it a speagle and for some reason my brain's decided that's the height of hilarity. I hope Phil walks his speagle daily and cares for it well.

Let it be Known to the world that I have sincere appreciation in my heart for the idb users mm_sunny1993 and autumnhearth. you all deserve endless puppies and deppy smiles.
I was getting really angry at the mental health conversations and then these massive posts came and I calmed down again. Which might be weird, idk.
Thanks for all the hard work in collecting this stuff, guys! (I'm also assuming there are several people already working on new floorplan drawings )

Also, for people who believe Dan and Phil share a room. What do you make of the sign on his dorr that says 'Daniel's room' then some Japanese characters.
I used to think they shared a room until I saw that. It's probably cursed with some kind of Phil-repellant that keeps Phil from entering (like garlic for a vampire). Hm. Phan cancelled I guess, but it was sure fun while it lasted.
It didn't work, he had the sign up on his door in the old apartment too and pesky Phils still got in and probably chewed on his carped and laid eggs on his bed.

Maybe I'm in denial.
and all the other apartment layout compilers
I don't really know which post to quote but, as for the sign on the door, I think it's on one of the doors in the downstairs hallway. The color of the door seems to match the ones we saw in the Phil mugging Dan for a book scene.

This amazing!
It seems like that didn't lie about the storage. There seems like there's cupboards/closets everywhere. Is there another handle to the right of 'Daniel's room'? There seems to be many more rooms as well.
Just a thought on the number of floors. Okay, I have no idea how to express this is English (or any language really). There might be rooms that are on the same floor but that aren't interconnect. Like two different stairs from level 1 to reach different parts of level 2 (does this make sense to any one). Like you have a main floor and then you reach other parts of the flat through stairs (either full stairs, or like half stairs) in different directions. Their upstair might not be above their downstairs but to the side etc. I think I just confused myself
I'm not saying that there's any proof of this. It's not actually a theory of mine. It might explain that they say the flat is weird. (Although half of their comments are probably just to throw us off).

Hey, if you're interested in the apartment keep reading
I tried to put everything together that we know so far from the pictures they posted
and it's a lot actually...personally don't know more about the layout but it's still interesting.
I'm off work for weeks I'm sick and bored...soo yeah spent my time laying in bed searching for the pictures (don't judge me )
First of all this is amazing! Glad to know I'm not alone in my boredom/obsession. We've come to some of the same conclusions but there are some things I disagree with or am still confused by. I took screen shots of your slides so I could respond page by page. I think I actually solved a mystery!
Ha! We used the same four images. I do think those are all in the same room. The thing hanging is a light, there are two of them and I imagine they are right above the dining table. My question is, what is on the other side of the table, opposite the curved grey wall? I'm pretty sure there are windows/a sliding glass door to the left that lead out to the balcony in the video. But is this in just a dining alcove? Or are there cabinets on the wall we can't see? Or is the kitchen further over in the white area where Phil is standing (literally where the camera is). Also what could be behind that door? Does it connect to the hallway at all? I figured this area was open to the slounge, but who knows?
While I agree that they have at least three bathrooms, I do question if the thumbnail for that liveshow is taken in one of them. Those tile tiles could be the backsplash in one of the kitchens. It seems a more likely place to sip tea, but who knows, Dan is weird.
Yep, all of this is what we know to be upstairs. All the flooring is the same. Thanks for including the stairs of doom, I forgot to in my post. That hallway/entryway is most interesting to me. But while the door on the right does appear the same as the one seen in the moon room below, the handle and hinges are on the wrong side for that to work. Perhaps it is an upstairs guest bathroom, which would make sense if that white door is their "front door". The little glass half-wall in the bamboo pic puzzles me, I don't see how the moon room could be "behind" it, but beyond that curve may be a hall to that hallway and or the moon room.
See the hinges? But these two slide next to each other does solidify by belief that the moon room is upstairs, it has the same vibe as the rest of the upstairs.
Yep! They even open on different sides!
Nothing really to add here except, oh look it does have the same white tile flooring as the rest of the downstairs, fancy that! I really would like to see more of this room.
Okay, here is where I disagree with you. While those are the same type of blinds, I don't think the balcony is off of Phil's room. I think it is off of the downstairs dining area. While not all the blinds are the same on each level of the duplex, these two appear to be (with the gaming room shade being different). However if your theory is correct, that would certainly open Phil's room up and make it feel bigger. Not sure what you mean by the blinds in the kitchen being black. Are you talking about the upstairs kitchen? Maybe, they at least seem to have black dividers/frames. But downstairs I think they are white. And the tile being the same as Phil's room doesn't mean anything as all the rooms downstairs seem to have the same white tile, with the exception of a bathroom or two.
Yep on the filming area, yep on the hallway being dowstairs, but I'm not sure about the stairs leading into it. In the shot of Dan going down the stairs it seems to lead to an area with a white cubby shelf, maybe with shoes on it. I have no idea where "Daniel's Room" is, but I agree it is probably not the moon room. I don't think it's part of the same hallway that they fight in as it has a different color wall. Maybe it's on the other side of the slounge.
Yep, clear as day there is a white door inside the gaming room, different from the dark wood door leading out of it. I don't think it would make sense to lead to Phil's room or the slounge. The gaming room already has a big sliding door closet we saw, though I suppose it could be a cupboard. I find it more likely to be a bathroom, Phil wasn't gone long at all when he checked on his contact in the last stream. Could it be:
Oh look we have a match! Same color door, opens the same way and they even have the same corner. Winking girl was filmed in the gaming room! Damn Phil gave a bedroom with an attached bathroom for that little AP room? I can hardly believe this is the same boy who took the bedroom with the en suite in their Manchester flat. I guess your priorities change as you get older. Or something...

Not sure if anyone has suggested this previously. There's a lot of discussion going on which I'm loving. But is it possible that the 2 separate flats is true, perhaps with a connecting door.
However, instead of them living separately (which between their co-dependence and the moon room reveal I will never believe unless they directly say it) the 2nd flat is just for filming. It's why Phil's set room, D&P games and other parts of the house feel so impersonal whereas the main lounge and moon room don't. It would explain why they have the two fridges but one is clearly not used often if the second flat is technically empty unless they're filming in it.
They already stated when they moved in how they were planning to separate more where they film and where they live. They just might have gone further to separate it all then we realised
This is now the theory I'm going with. 2 flats in the same block. Possibly connected. One for work and one for home. Explains the weird layout, different doors/windows, etc.
Zalfie have practically a whole extra house as their 'office' so it's not impossible!
Also if you rent an office space you can claim it as a tax deduction so it's not even a huge waste of money for them I guess.
I really like this idea a lot. Definitely makes sense with Phil's box room and him not making any changes to it whereas Dan has gone all out with change! Also makes sense as to why they bought that hideous sofa and sofa bed with them, to keep one of the flats as a set only. Also explains why they don't want to do a tour of the flat and seem adamant about not doing so. Good call guys; I could be on board with this theory!
reading these posts, it makes sense that the balcony could be off the lower floor based on the flooring, but what i'm thinking about is the text message dan tweeted, where phil said "come upstairs there's some intense pigeon drama" or smth, wouldn't that mean that the balcony is off the upper floor? or was phil just looking out of a window and this post is unnecessary lol

Good catch autumnhearth! Also thumbs up for the analysis that I missed just as I posted. So whoever called it that there was a bathroom Phil popped into during their Overcooked ls nailed it.
Damn look at all these detectives up in this joint. I'm living for it

or maybe there's two balconies. If they really have 2 kitchen/kitchenettes and (apparently) 3 bathrooms, then 2 balconies wouldn't be that weird either, right?
This mental health argument is, to be honest, quite upsetting.
Dan has made more than clear that he has mental health issues and he should never, and I mean NEVER, feel pressured to share more than he feels comfortable to. He doesn't owe us to show us his eventual presciptions, his medical records or anything like that. He's spoken about it a lot, not just in this past month, but more and more openly in more than a year. It's really harming to assume that someone that we don't know in person is lying about a condition, because we don't know what his personal life is like, we don't know how many hours he stays inside oand how many pep talks he gives himself to go outside, how much harrowing it is to meet fans that make his leaving the house a less safe space.
He has said before that joking about it is his coping mechanism, and as someone who does the same, it's really hurting to see that because of something that is supposed to make it feel more bearable there are people that won't take you seriously. We're talking about Dan, a 26 years old boy who has spoken about mental health in various degrees of seriousness, who called out people that called Phil autistic because of his weird thinking and said how harming it is to impose diagnosis on people you don't know. Someone who went from joking about every insecurity to give them clear names - social anxiety and mild agoraphobia. There's no indication that he's choosing names randomly.
He's not an edgy 14yo boy that reads stuff on the internet and think they're cool, not anymore. He's an adult with a platform of young people and he's making a clear distinction that he has issues about going outside and taking pictures with people etc BECAUSE of these specific things and not just because. That's how much he feels comfortable sharing and it's his platform and his choice about what he wants to say on the matter. I've barely spoken about my own issues outside the internet, and downplayed them even after having an attack in front of friends and family because I wasn't confortable. If he's not comfortable about saying more than that to 6 million people, then he should never see tweets or posts about how he has to.
That said, autumnheart that summary is incredible
Will probably never be over the BONCAS and the beauty of Phil Lester.

Very simple answer, I think there are balconies on both floors. Both off of the kitchen/dining areas. The pigeon drama just happened to be occurring upstairs Ah, citizen_erased got there first. But yeah, if you look closely in the pics there is what appears to be a handle on the center window in the upstairs kitchen.
Also I think that this image, taken in the downstairs dining area, has the handle of a sliding glass door.

Aren't these all things we already knew, though?
And two flats possibly connected, which i'm certain they are, doesn't that actually fit the definition of a duplex? which they already said it was.

reading these posts, it makes sense that the balcony could be off the lower floor based on the flooring, but what i'm thinking about is the text message dan tweeted, where phil said "come upstairs there's some intense pigeon drama" or smth, wouldn't that mean that the balcony is off the upper floor? or was phil just looking out of a window and this post is unnecessary lol
Or maybe they've got two balconies... :eh: Their apartment seems so huge I'm ready to believe almost anything.
edit: Someone already had the same idea.
