Tatinof Show and Documentary Thread Promo

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to take a moment to promo two threads here that I made a while back to reserve a place to discuss the tatinof show and documentary after they’re released on Wednesday:

Basically, I want to make it easier for the people who won’t be able to watch the film+documentary right away seeing as they are not the same as regular free YT videos that can be watched at any time.

Plus I think it’s easier to ignore two whole separate threads designated to the tatinof stuff (until you’re ready to read it) than to read through the main thread and have to skip a post, skip part of a post, etc. due to constant spoilers and in-depth tatinof discussions that would normally be mixed in with everything. This way you won’t have to filter through endless posts in the main thread.

I'm a little concerned about this, now we're gonna have a lot to talk about spread across two separate threads and basically nothing to talk about on the main thread until possibly Phil's ls on sunday, but even that is probably going to be about tatinof and/or the docu. I just don't really feel like this is a great idea thoughts?

Personally, it doesn’t affect me where the discussions are because I’ll have access to the films either way. It was just an idea on my part to have separate threads because I thought it would be more considerate/easier for those who won’t have access to them and those who don’t want to filter through/miss out on other main thread discussions (basically the same concept as having separate topics for each tatinof performance). There may not be much to talk about on the main thread for a bit but that’s happened before. I also see your concern about the liveshows and I guess if people want to comment on the potential spoilers deppy may discuss in their liveshow, they can use the spoiler tag for those instances?

Idk, as I said before, my idea of organizing it that way was mainly to make things easier for those who won’t have access to the films at the same time as everyone else. But I also see the points you made. I’m cool with whatever tbh Any mods here want to share their thoughts?

There may also be a practicality issue in that I'm assuming the films are going to be important topics of discussion for a while, and it may be more convenient to just discuss it all in the main thread rather than loose track of what's been said over different threads. I think it's inevitably going to end up being discussed in the main thread because it's such a big amount of content - the only question is of extent.

We're going to let it play out naturally at the moment, and let people post where they want to. If the majority of the discussion is here in the main thread, we're unlikely to do anything about it. If things change in some way, and it would be better for discussion to be contained to dedicated threads, we'll look into that.

In any case, we'll be making sure people use spoiler tags.

If we do make a separate place to talk about it, I think it would make the most sense to put them together, because checking 2 threads is easier than checking 3. i feel like we'd end up with a lot of overlap between at least the two about the movies, never mind the main thread. But I just feel like the main thread is the place to talk about this, since unlike the actual tatinof tour, this tatinof YTR content is available to almost almost everyone, even though it is paid content. it's a huge thing in dan and phil's lives and i feel like not talking about it on the main thread would be a little silly and also confusing to any new members or those who can't lurk 24/7 due to the daily demands of life. i guess it really just depends where people choose to post but i'm pretty sure i wanna post here unless there's huge backlash. i will use spoiler tags tho.

on that note, when does the YTR stuff become common knowledge and not warrant spoiler tags? like, we talk about tabinof now no problemo, how long did that take? just curious.

Yeah I don't mind posting everything in the main thread either.

I think after some time has gone by and stuff becomes plastered on tumblr and twitter, we may not have to use spoiler tags as much.

For the first few days after the release, we'll be doing our best to make sure people use spoiler tags so that anyone who can't watch the show or the doc because they don't have the time to, or the money to, won't be spoiled by any post here.

Something to bear in mind, though, is that it costs you little to add spoiler tags, compared to the amount of enjoyment that may be taken away from someone when they see a spoiler.

I liked Phil in the maroon Jeans. I think they really suited him.
Dan's were just too blue. They could have made them a darker blue and it wouldn't have looked as weird as it did.

The thing is that that would have been a really good header if it wasn't for the weird colour correction. I don't even know why they'd do it? Like, Dan's whole brand is his monochrome wardrobe (tho it did make me realise he would look really good in blue skinny jeans [eyes emoji])

I think it must have been done by a graphic/digital designer who didn't understand their banding and wasn't properly briefed. Putting some yellow on Dan's t-shirt balances out the yellow in the text on the other side. Making Dan's jeans blue balances him with the blue of Phil's shirt. We're used to Dan's branding, so we know that he's supposed to be monochrome, and it looks wrong to us when he isn't, but whoever made that header thought it looked better edited. This is what happens when deppy hand over branding control to anybody else. We notice.

Did anyone figure out which exact bus they had? I know a while back you were discussing http://www.starcoachesinc.com/ but did anyone figure out which one it was? None of them look stripy on the website, but the layouts look spot on.

Can I +1 this please? Does anyone have the link to the actual specimen? I know we know it and pics have been embedded but I can't find the link. I'll cry tears of blood if I have to go back through the threads to find it!

An IDBer (I want to say manged?) was able to determine (from a picture of the license plate) that the bus was rented from Four Seasons Coach Leasing.

I may be 25 but I have no control over my own money (I have a Power of Attorney) as I am a major shopaholic and I doubt my Aunt is going to allow me to spend money just to watch something online so I'll just cry over here.

Stupid post: When Phil said "bye Hannah" in his livestream, it was 75% to me, because I scrolled up and never saw any Hannah's write their goodbye messages (there was three in the LS, that were writing). Usually there is a sort of lag, between the messages and Phil either has a brilliantly fast internet connection or mine is much slower than I thought because one of the Hannah's said bye after he'd said bye BUT maybe it was to her. Haha, I thought FAR too much about this but I'm happy to imagine it was to me. First ever interaction with any of them, because I'm usually too shy to even speak (even in comments on their videos that I worry they could read).

[offtopic]I don't know everything, but I believe I heard that you must put in a credit card because it assumes you're going to pay for month 2. It's a way to make money because a lot of people don't cancel their subscription by time month 2 rolls around. So therefore you need a credit card to prove you're invested in YTR and interesting in possibly buying it (lol). To get around this, in some countries, you can just walk into a drug store and buy a visa/mastercard "gift" card with cash and use that number as a credit card. I've had problems before when trying to use a visa gift card that doesn't have enough money on it though, so make sure this gift card has enough for the YTR subscription.[/offtopic]
