So far I'm liking this forum. I knew it was only a matter of time before this ended up happening. Are we staying here for good or until we feel like GG is worth regrouping there for?

For platonic friends, they really like to cosy up when they're sitting together ;)
I swear they always have at least one body part touching whenever they sit next to each other, whether the space available says they need to or not

And they look like such a couple in Louise's Tatinof vlog
love these!

I always get the 'my security blanket' feeling when I see them like this (that is how I call it in for myself :D ) It seems like they are almost not able to "function" (can't think of better word at 3am) without the other one being around (=hovering extremely near) especially in social situations. I'm not saying they can't but they are definitely more relaxed the closer the other one is.
Yes, i agree, i think they do that to ensure or encourage each other, make each other feel safe. But i won't go for not able to function without each other tho.

And as a gigantic asshole as myself is this the appropriate time to laugh at their face for "two adult men acting like scared toddlers" and drop a cynical "they have been babying each other for long enough they need to learn independence"? No? Nope? Okay… I'm just gonna go chill at the corner.

I read all the GG D&P threads over a period of like four months and I have many recommendations on where to start / which threads are must-reads! I might make a topic on it, or something. Anyway I'll get back to you soon! lol

This thread is moving so fast that I've actually lost track of what's being talked about. ;_;

I did see someone point out that maybe D&P may have known some of the Impossible Quiz answers, and thus had an easier time than Mark/Jack. Considering that I did have my suspicions about the last gaming video, I gotta pitch in and say "Ehhh, probably not". For one, Dan did say outright that he played the game many eons ago when it was still a novelty. As someone who played through the whole thing when I was a babby, even I remembered some of the answers, so it's not completely impossible. (I pretty much only remember the questions that made me rage the hardest, i.e: "A polo", but not "BOGGY") For another, I am actually willing to believe Phil actually is just that good at answering stupid questions. He's that kinda guy.

I'm pretty sure all of this has already been said though. I don't know anything.

We have a thread called the game plan somewhere discussing it, but basically the idea is settle down here for good after we finish archiving things from gg. :D

I personally didn't do any homework and just joined in without lurking like a self asserted asshole. But I recommend at least read the FAQ tho.

That would be nice! I haven't read all the threads either but I kind of want to anyway because I'm always paranoid I'm missing out by not doing so.

The first threads are very toxic. so I started with f*ck i just went to gg to see what number was the thread i started with, and the site is down again ... well i think was number 12, like before each thread has a name

Edit: was number 7

this made my day
and all the pen!s talk too

I don't recommend the frst 15 or so threads at GG, they were very alike to the trash a guru posts, esp if you're a Dan fan. I found quite creepy how people were collecting his nudes. The mid 2014-til date posts were extremely entertaining.

Felucca, these are for you, and they're not enough:

I'll be forever fascinated with what may have happened in that time frame. Whatever it was, I'm happy it did and I hope it was a good thing for everyone involved. Have you noticed any reaction at all from Phil to comments like that from Dan (at least when he first started)? I remember some radio show (no clue of the date) where Dan said something about a guy looking like a girl in a fan video (he was wearing a wig) and Dan said "All I know is I am sexually confused" and Phil made a hilarious face before it cut away.
Can you pinpoint Phil's own (much rarer) comments (about girls/singleness) dying out around the same time?

Ew it wasn't all smooth sailing though: Oct 2013
Dan to Phil (at 4:15) "You need a girlfriend"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPTcljfc ... 0BXza3K43A
I can't get the youtube formatting to work :(
But it's Phil's unlisted The Abduction video
(I haven't watched Mark's or Jack's playthroughs of the Impossible Quiz YET, but isn't it a british-based quiz? Based on that alone, D&P would have an advantage over Mark, though I assume Jack would have similar/identical frames of reference (like cillit bang?? I'd never heard of that before). You know what, I'll just go watch their playthroughs...)

RE: GG threads. I read through most of them before ever making an account (I didn't do them in order though so it's possible some were missed) but for the love of god, for your own well-being, avoid the threads from when TAB/TINOF was announced, everyone lost their damn minds. It really bummed me out reading it back, you'd think D&P had just blown up a damn orphanage.

I had the same reaction when backreading through the book/tour announcements. It was painful. I've had people who feel that way try to explain it but on a basic level I still just can't grasp it warranting that much anger. But I came along much close to book release time and didn't have any negative associations with it at all.

The first set of threads on GG are also full of holes. They make very little sense at certain points. I tried reading them and I gave it up as a bad job. I hear some other people got some very interesting perspectives and information out of them though.

I'm very tempted to believe that Phil is just that good at answering stupid, out of the box questions. Mostly because Dan, the one who played it before, didn't actually remember some of the more obvious one. And it's quite interesting because I thought Dan would've spent the whole time laughing and trolling Phil. It's what his demeanor at the beginning of the video implied, especially with the polo question. It seemed like an act he was prepping up for that eventually didn't pan out. But he started actually trying to do the quiz. And working with Phil. It seemed like he didn't expect Phil to actually get that many of the answers at the beginning.

(Unless, of course, they are superbly proficient actors, went through the quiz, got all the answers, planned out how they were going to mess up then scripted their interactions completely. But that seems like a bit too much work)

And thanks Vivastian! I'm going to enjoy watching their drunken shenanigans!

Same, I think I read them around June and I basically just shrugged and thought "I'm probably going to buy the book, they can have my $20 I don't care that much, and the people that do can just... not... buy... it...?" I didn't get it either.
But because of all that, I've never ever seen the announcement video fake fan. I watched their explanation one in the gaming room, but the actual video, I can't do it for some reason. That thread really just freaked me out.

(Although I do agree that them going silent for 24 hours afterward was probably a bad move that didn't help matters. But they were probably freaked the hell out by the reaction too. Everybody needed a nap I think).

I read a bunch of them when I first started lurking (you guys are addicting! It was also kind of sad reading through older threads, because I'd start to really like people only to discover they weren't really active anymore), but I would love recommendations of which ones to read! I lost track of which I've read and which I haven't after losing internet for a month, only to regain it in time for GG to go down (probably for the best though, if I'd gotten it back now, I might never have found you all if it wasn't for the comments on the blog post)

Thank God I wasn't in gg back then because I am really excited for tabinof. Lol. Trash. I remember thinking maybe I was a hypocrite because I basically trash zoe and alfie for using ghost-writer (which is fine if they're not lying about it). But I genuinely feel like D and P are not some lazy ass who will allow other people write their book, so I pre-ordered and beg a friend to go to TATINOF with me.

but everything change when I decided to go back home for personal reason, resulting me rerouting the effing book destination with extra 8 pounds

Thank you!! (Is there a trick to time-stamps, because I'm having no luck there either, what's wrong with me)

edit: Can I just say that Canada has a dumb system with regard to dates? M-D-Y and D-M-Y are both used here with no rhyme or reason, so I was looking for Oct 8 and not Aug 10. Honestly what kind of a system is that??? We play fast and loose with our "best before" dates sometimes, it's madness.
