I can't stand felix the youtuber but I'm really liking Felix the person that doesn't stand for onison, his fans or anyone bullshit.

Thanks for sharing that, I'm glad he said something and hopefully the people he blocked will actually think about what they're saying/posting next time before being awful humans.Anonymousse wrote:And another example of Pewds being a decent human being

I do think that Onision genuinely does have a bit of a crush on Dan. Then again, who doesn't. Get in line, Onision. I'm always surprised that Dan isn't super conceited, knowing that half of the internet, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, wants to get into his pants.spider wrote:Baiting the phandom for attention. Just had a look at their twitter timelines (the lengths I will go to to procrastinate from uni work...)

I assume they're talking about this incident:

I think Zoe's tweet is about something else because she references people being mean to someone close to her and she is close to neither Emma nor Dodie

Zoe's tweets for context.
No idea what's going on. Although...??
Maybe? Ugh. Sort it out face-to-face children. Keep it out of audiences sight at least FFS.

Everytime I think I can't love Pewds even more, he surprises me. I love that dude.Anonymousse wrote:Pewds talking about the old him and new him

I mean, he's the biggest youtuber, he could easily be an arse, but he uses his fame for good and is not afraid to call out even himself.

Ooh sexuality-related insight from Sammy Paul Interesting, nice to see that frustration voiced by somebody in the UK YT community.. Sexuality (IF NOT STRAIGHT) becomes a defining part of whatever you do when you're out whether you want it to or not. Hm.

heey long-time lurker blabla i was wondering if any of you watch joey and ur opinion on #janiel i have an on and off going relationship with his channel but i do enjoy his recent videos

I used to truly enjoy Joey's videos, but since his coming out video he just seems to use homosexuality as the absolute, unique money-maker. And don't get me started on Daniel...nowadays I can't stand either of them. Their dogs are awesome thoughcrushedpop wrote:heey long-time lurker blabla i was wondering if any of you watch joey and ur opinion on #janiel i have an on and off going relationship with his channel but i do enjoy his recent videos

Just trying to spread the Dangirl agenda
I don't like Felix gaming videos, because I was introduced to him early on (like 2011 or 2012??) and that was when scream-gaming is a thing. Lol.
But after he features in his Youtube High School thing, I check Marzia's channel for some domestic videos of them, and I kinda like that bit.

Hi
I've been watching Felix since 2012, and even though he was very inmature in his first youtube videos he's now a really respetable person
, a little too persona heavy, but oh well.
And also, youtube drama, I think this video makes a really good point (it's from IHE):

Alex from IHE is pretty much the only YouTuber I watch as religiously as tbhsoulitary wrote:Hi

YouTuber historian/media scholars, I need your help. I have a question about ancient YouTube history (2008-2009). I stumbled across this deep cut video of Phil's where he is doing an impression of an American cartoonist/singer called Zachary Sterling (his senpai of sorts it seems- it's cute ). In case you haven't seen it:
This is the guy he's doing an impression of here:
And the rest of the VlogCandy videos here: https://www.youtube.com/user/VlogCandy/videos
I'm just curious, from anyone who was around back then- what was this VlogCandy? Was it the beginning of the Youtuber world we know now (particularly the whole 'challenge' structure)?

Oh man, I'd pretty much forgotten about VlogCandy so maybe keep that in mind for my answer, if anyone remembers them better please do feel free to step in and correct me! It was one of the first big collab channels, with a different person posting a video each day a week on a certain topic - there were others like fiveawesomegirls, fiveawesomeguys (definitely not all awesome), and a UK one in the LoveHateSociety (also not all awesome) which was more review based. I was never too familiar with VlogCandy, but I wouldn't have said that they were particularly responsible for the extent of the influence of challenges - it never struck me as a particularly vital part of their #brand, and they weren't dedicating the whole video to it. I actually might give 'Challenge Charlie' from charlieissocoollike more credit there, though anything from early YT like that is probably more significant than anyone realises at the time, and again I was not too familiar with that channel specifically - I think I only watched it for a couple of months? - so might be underselling their influence. Collab channels were great in general though, I miss them now!starlight-still wrote:I'm just curious, from anyone who was around back then- what was this VlogCandy?
