Phil replied in 3 minutes, too, which is weird in itself. Idk though. Like I'll freely admit that I find conspiracy theories fun, but something smells funky here to me. Maybe they knew people'd find the blueprints & wanted a statement out there so that people were less likely to flat-out ask them about it IRL?

They're being robots. Would anybody even ask them? They should have waited for that and just responded the way they did for Japan when Phil just flat out said 'there were two beds' or whatever. This is just pre-emptive and weird (and maybe just to reinforce how they want to be perceived to their US audience?).

I agree they're being robots, though I will say that it also just feels like a side-affect of being that much in the public eye while also knowing how the public eye operates that much. And I do think there are people who would ask them - why? Because some people aren't very smart. Like people asked them if phan was real to their faces during m&g's before, people yelled "DAN IS GAY" at TATINOF shows, and even just at Playlist this year, I saw people commenting that someone was carrying a sign saying "Phan is real". People do all kinds of shit because they're desensitized from thinking that they can get away with anything because that's largely how fan/celeb interactions online are set up. Idk for sure if that's even a part of why they tweeted it, but someone asking them would in no way shock me.

And like I don't think this was a smart move. I think it's gonna bring more questions than silence, and the fact that the tweeted it also means that their sleeping arrangements are gonna be discussed by a far larger audience than they'd have been otherwise. But most of why it makes me kinda sad is because so far, this year has been great, it made me think that they really don't care anymore, that we're past that - but this is like tangible proof that we're not, or at least that progress is rarely linear. And while no homo is largely gone now, no phano is still going strong.

@Anonymousse I feel your frustration and hope you don't fret to much over it (i hope that was English). I've long ago accepted that they're ambiguous about a lot of things. They send mixed messages, they often joke about and they're careful in what and how much they share about themselves that's not part of 'the brand'.

@fancybum : yea, it has all the signs of a planned twitter back and forth. It's quite clever. It brings attention to the tour , as a more casual follower it sounds like a fun piece of banter about two friends and their tour life adventures and for the more hardcore deppy fans it offers plenty of venues for speculation.
That tweet sounds like a good start for a smutty fanfic. A Pillow fight gone sexual.

For what it's worth, i don't personally feel that strong about them possilby playing us. Even when everything they do turned out to be a huge charade (and i think the truth is likely some shade of grey), i still appreciate what they do for what it is.
When I got into D&P a few months back and joined this lovely forum with its lovely people, I feel like I learned some about the 'behind the scenes' of youtube and i've grown to realize that behind the camera, most of the big vloggers really manage their channels and brands as a professional business. A lot of you might be thinking 'duh' now, but when you just casually watch youtube vloggers it's easy to leave with the impression that they are all just some friends messing about, doing collabs and just talking random stuff.
Not so much though. It's scripts, spons & clickbait, talent management bureaus, a strict divide between their private lives and their public image and a lot careful manipulation of the dark magic that are the youtube algorithms. The 'professionalism' is ever increasing too. I guess i shouldn't be surprised. What can one really expect when peoples income and livelyhoods are at stake? A youtube 'carreer' is built on quicksands and you're at the grace of google, so I can understand that talented people like deppy want to guide their audience which they so painstakingly built up to greener pastures like books, tours and merch stands. I think a lot of the big youtubers who aren't yet at pewdiepie levels of financial stability are fearful of suddenly 'losing the game' if they change what they do/ "are", and that fear leads to rigid public images that must be maintained.

D&P making a big deal out of everything is probably my biggest annoyance with them. They bring attention to the most irrelevant things or to subjects that should be left alone. All the time. From all fandoms I've been part of and even with irl stuff, I've never seen this way of dealing with things work. People will still speculate and doubt you, even more if you make this kind of statement. If you are only friends, act like friends! If more and don't want others to know, don't say anything. It's just worse if you do argh.

This might be their tour bus? If they really use starcoach. It has 6 bunk beds, and a bedroom with toilet and TV on its own. And that means they don't have separate bus with the crew.

I don't really mind with DnP 'lying' about the situation. If they are platonic, they just don't want the phandom to freak out when they inevitably learn about it and spam their account with embarassing invasive questions (though i'm sure some will still do that). And the same if they are romantic. They just want it to be private and not be forced to explain (after some shitstorm).

it's their relationship with each other that's the more priority for them. Not the relationship with us. And I understand that.

No, please invalidate them because I don't want them I'm just in a weird shitty mood (maybe partyly due to Chris' liveshow?). It is different though imo because these tweets were unprovoked; the Japan one was a direct response to a specific question.

But whatever, Phil's video has cheered me up somewhat (he looks so good, the stories were funny, ugh I love them both goddammit).
