for some reason the exact intonation of dan's "it looks like a raccoon wearing a party hat" from pinof 3 has always stuck with me
other phrases i think about a lot include "it's not the same unless it's on the sea~~~" "yeah, you like that, katie?" and "no, good sir, for i have the power of triangles!", probably bc they were from the period of time when the only dnp content i consumed was their youtube content and i rewatched their videos a lot
i also blame them entirely for my knowledge of the ditty meme theme, which gets stuck in my head CONSTANTLY

For me it's the song Dan hums in the pumpkin cookies baking video. Whenever it pops in my head i feel the urge to do the little dance as well.
And whenever the "obviously we were more than friends" randomly haunts me through the day i just need to take a moment to process it no matter where i am or what i'm doing.

I constantly have the "Thats. Our. Dan" song stuck in my head and occasionally I'll also remember random quotes from Golf with Friends like "Dan, master of geometry"

What a great topic! Loving reading the little things that seem to get stuck in people's minds for no apparent reason, funny how much it varies for everyone
Mine are 'this is the most fun I've ever had' Dan's 'always busy and dping stuff' from their bbc pete wentz prank call and 'try new things'
Also, not D&P but 'airplane food AMIRITE' from Jenna and Julien's doing stand up comedy for eachother, (which, side note, I highly reccomend) literally all the time (my brain does it especially whenever I'm about to start eating on public transport lol)no idea why

This made me realise that whatever I used to have stuck in my head for years was gone. And then that thing happened where it gets annoying when you can't remember and you start to think too much about it. So, at first it was a relief when my brain went:
IT'S A BREAKFAST BAR STOOL, IT'S A BREAKFAST BAR STOOL.
Now 30 mins later relieved is not the word I would use.

I always have random dnp quotes stuck in my head too! Usually from whatever I've watched recently but mostly CAN A MATCH BOX NO BUT A TIN CAN, dan's dramatic OH NO OH DEAR when phil messes up in gaming videos. I sometimes also just start thinking in dan's Mettaton voice

i’ve had “fuck, fuck on a duck” stuck in my head for a few weeks. it’s from a gaming video, but i can’t remember which one.

for me it's phil as a toddler going 'oh dear...'
also years ago dan said 'yolo swaggins' in a baking video and this clearly made an impression on 14-year-old me as i recently found an old photo of a cake me and my friends made with 'yolo swaggins' written on top in decorations...

I'm watching old Grace videos and stumbled across this deppy mention from 2017, about Vidcon 2013.
starts at about 3:54
The idea of Dan and Phil watching on with bewilderment as a drunk Mamrie serenades them made me giggle.

It's been 1 month since Phil's coming out video!
Deppy's silence is very loud. Deafening even. Makes me feel anxious and very on edge. I hope they're moving.
Love the quotes. "Patreon for our euthanasia" is something that often pops up in my mind and I've even sort of adapted it into my speech when making dark jokes about how close to death my depression got me feeling that day. My mom doesn't really seem to appreciate it.

Ooh, another thing that gets stuck in my head a lot is Dan saying "you don't deserve that" from the final google fued video and how his tone of voice is so similar to when he's talking to his dad about being six and a half and his name being Lara in the childhood video.

This reminds me of another quote/moment that got stuck in my head - during the hiatus I often find myself thinking ‘what are you doing?’ about them, and I always hear it in my head as Dan’s ‘what are you DOOOIIIIINGG??’ about Eliza Pancakes turning up on the doorstep for the 90th time.

for some reason I’ve always had “are you just gonna leave me here? Is That the plan??” from a 1d vlog Louise did with dan?? i day it like once a week or something though it’s been years since I watched those old vlogs. I don’t know why exactly this meaningless quote got stuck in my head lmao.

in today’s edition of “how you know you’re dnp trash”...
i was doing my morning peek through news headlines and my stomach did a rollercoaster-level-swoop at the headline “youtubers tie the knot in a surprise ceremony.”
i have never judged myself so hard when it turned out to be logan paul related. clickbate indeed. (also, lol, in WHAT WORLD would dnp livestream a ceremony—or charge people $50 to stream it lolololol)

Such an interesting subject! So cool to see everyone's lines.
The high-pitched "PHIL LESTER, YOU'RE A GENIUS" is definitely one of mine.
+1 on the singsong "can a match box? no but a tin can", also the "fucking meteors!! ~skip skip skip~". This might be because of the number of times I watched the crack vid from crunchytoast1edits.
Also I find myself humming their usual montage/fast-forward/background tunes sometimes.

I need to add the "raccoooooon" moment by Dan from one of the drawing videos and the "I can't, I don't have legs'

Hey I know some people were worried about it so I thought I'd let y'all know that Anthony posted his interview with Legendary Youtubers video and Dan and Phil weren't involved. (It was a pretty good interview with Drew Gooden, Danny Gonzalez, and Joana Ceddia though, so if you're a fan of any of those people I'd check it out! https://youtu.be/o1KvKWFffVk)
He DID however use a super cute picture of Dan and Phil with a fan as his example of legendary youtubers who are "friendly and humble in their real lives" which was nice to see!

I’m a few pages late but I just wanna say I really like and agree with this take!sp00ky wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2019 9:08 pm(Longtime lurker but I’ve actually been thinking about this a lot the past week or two and couldn’t help but reply)LtrllySusan wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2019 8:06 pm It's a shame that they've let the reignited hype die down. I thought they were back, considering the videos and the merch and social media activity, but now we're back to (basically) zero. This whole talk of 'onto the future' and 'the future looks bright' but nothing is happening... I'm personally not so sold on the moving theory, so I don't have that to hold onto.
I think that may actually be intentional. Some of the hype is just because they (mostly Dan) were gone so long, but a lot of it is people drawn in (or back in) by them coming out.
While riding the hype would be a better business decision, I think it may feel to them like capitalizing off their private lives even if whatever they make has nothing to do with their relationship or queerness.
Dan made it clear in that he didn’t want to monetize their relationship and Phil made that comment about daily vloggers: they’re very private people and I can see them putting that above the hype.
For a while now I’ve had the feeling that they’re specifically waiting for things to settle (and waiting for a lot of the “hits different” emotion in the fan base to fade) so they can get back to normal without the next things they make being overshadowed.
As for a dappy quote, well, obviously, “obvsly
