They can definitely afford two busses.
Good on them.
No wonder they have to recruit extra crew member for the merch booth.SquishPhan wrote:Wow that is crazy.phamnotof wrote:As far as money goes, saw this just now & it's making me think they could have 3 buses and still make a profit.I guess we don't have to worry about them making money of this tour, the merch alone would make a profit, or so I assume.

Indeed, they can probably use all the help available.swofro wrote:No wonder they have to recruit extra crew member for the merch booth.SquishPhan wrote:Wow that is crazy.phamnotof wrote:As far as money goes, saw this just now & it's making me think they could have 3 buses and still make a profit.I guess we don't have to worry about them making money of this tour, the merch alone would make a profit, or so I assume.

I just hope that they brought enough merch with them to last the whole tour.
I thought the same...SquishPhan wrote:Indeed, they can probably use all the help available.swofro wrote:No wonder they have to recruit extra crew member for the merch booth.SquishPhan wrote:Wow that is crazy.phamnotof wrote:As far as money goes, saw this just now & it's making me think they could have 3 buses and still make a profit.I guess we don't have to worry about them making money of this tour, the merch alone would make a profit, or so I assume.

and seeing this picture, I'm loving on-line shopping more and more...

That might have been the security guys' doing. It's easier to get one person through a crowd and make two trips than get two or more through at once.sweetmm wrote:Video of them boarding the bus; Phil always run off leaving Dan![]()

Or maybe Phil just wanted to get the Buffy DVD loaded. You'll never know!

There had been a few pics/vids where Dan tend to stay a bit but Phil tend to quickly rush off; I'm not sure whether Phil finds it uncomfortable standing/stay infront of screaming fans hence why he tends to walk off earlier than Dan.IckleMissMayhem wrote:That might have been the security guys' doing. Maybe. I'd be terrified, plus it hurts my ears through a speaker, let alone in person!
Or maybe they're each more awkward in different settings/ways.

Regarding the merch stands: That's a lot of people, but are all of them there to buy something? I remember a review in that other forum where someone said there was a giant line to the merch stand, but most of the people just wanted to meet martyn and cornelia (which i find quite rude tbh).
Has anyone paid attention to that?

I always have this vibe that Dan is comfortable on stage in front of a crowd; he seems to enjoy it immensely. Whereas Phil seems to be more relax in social situations when it is in a group or one to one.IckleMissMayhem wrote:Maybe. I hope this doesn't step into rule-breaking armchair psychoanalysis territory but...sound familiar (as far as we know)? http://thoughtcatalog.com/jojo-adesida/ ... extrovert/ Phil that you secret blogging there?IckleMissMayhem wrote:Maybe. Meanwhile, Dan seems to be more of an introvert, but not shy at all, hence working the crowds and bravely defending the homefront from litigious New York papas.
I can personally CONFIRM that there are two tour busses and also probably two 18 wheelers. In addition to the reddish one that we have seen Dan and Phil with, there is also a darker colored one, which, although I only saw it from the front, is the same height and width as the reddish one, so I am pretty positive that it is the same size. it was parked directly next to the reddish one, which is why you cannot see it in pictures. My sister took a photo of it, so I might be able to get that from her later, if people want to try and guess the make/model or whatever. The blue 18 wheeler is in fact an 18 wheeler, and is not the second bus. I didn't get a great glimpse of it, as it was parked next to the second bus and next to a white 18 wheeler (all in a row), which I got a pretty good look at. The white one had black drama mask on the cab, and the cargo area said something like "Clark (?? there was a glare so I'm not sure on the name) Transport".
I can also confirm that there were 3 girls (not Martyn or Cornelia) working the merch table. Juliet, Lauren, and Caroline were all lovely in person, if not a bit stressed because of the ridiculous amount of fangirls. It honestly is a shame that Caroline sounds like she won't be staying for the whole tour, cause she seemed like she had a great personality.
I'm also pretty certain that they were not expecting to sell so much, as before the show (when that picture of the crowd was taken) there was no set line, and people just crowded the table. The poor merch girls kept trying to get people to move out of the way so that people who had already bought stuff could leave, but no one was really listening
Martin and Cornelia showed up for about 2 minutes, took a few photos, and then left, so they probably aren't going to be as accessible this tour as it sounds like they were in the UK one.
After the show they had set up one of those portable black line things (I don't know what this is called, but I hope that you know what I'm talking about). That helped out a lot, tbh.
The Jacksonville show wasn't even sold out, and 4/5 of the balcony was empty, so I can understand why they might be scrabbling to find more people to help. Bear in mind that the theatre has a capacity of 2,979, so there was still a large amount of people there.
Edit: Everyone at the end of the show was there to buy things, I can't say anything about the huge mob in the photo, though, as that was waaaay less organized.
And for anyone counting how many people are touring, I also looked into the lighting/sound booth and saw 3 people, I think one woman and two men.

I agree. Phil is a shy extrovert (as starlight-still said) and Dan is a very expressive introvert. Dan is kind of a narcissistic, not in a bad way tho, but a massive group of people screaming and chanting his name definitely satisfies his ego. I hope one day he will develop a Robert Downey Jr-ish swag and everybody will love him for him loving himself. (Don't learn from Kanye or Trump.)sweetmm wrote:I always have this vibe that Dan is comfortable on stage in front of a crowd; he seems to enjoy it immensely. thanks a lot for all the information FiveyWho!! You really summed up everything you noticed that we were wondering!
it's just the beginning of the tour so they will soon get the hang of it. a bit of a shame that martyn and cornelia don't get to hang about the merch stand too much but also understandable.
also, wow, 2 buses and 2 vans?!
i guess they have enough merch for the whole tour and then some.. this might mean that even has their own private bus
or maybe that they share it only with martyn and cornelia.
looking forward to more inside scoop as tour progresses from you lovely people along with factual/correct info from d&p

(Also you should totally go leave a review of the show in the TATINOF section, we need more of those!)

Thanks for the information FiveyWho, that really helps us out.
Kind of weird that Martyn and Cornelia weren’t there at the merch shop, but they could have been busy dealing with things backstage.
If all those vehicles are indeed theirs then I imagine that there should be more than enough merch for the whole tour. Plus more privacy for , than previously suspected.

Never before have I devoted so much time to keeping up with with something as I have with DP, yet still felt like a lower rank fan. It's like I straddle the line between spending large chunks of my life on this forum gossiping about them, but not being willing to wait in a crowd like that to meet them or get their merch. this was autocorrected to mercy which may be more accurate.
Also, I've been traveling myself for a week now and am already starting to feel the wear and tear. I'm not sure how DP are going to survive. Though having the same place to sleep every night might be better.

I find Dan's type of personality very interesting seeing as he does not like to talk to people very much, he doesn't particularly like being the center of attention around friends (there's this one vlog where he says 'i really want this moment to end' when people are talking abut him), but then again he loves the attention of being an internet star.
I think I relate to both D+P. I'm definitely a little bit of both, though probs a little more of a shy introvert. Though socializing does recharge me, so
Anyway, they both have such interesting personality types for internet celebrities.

So basically the only consistent thing everyone can find is that buses don't come with two bedrooms. Really the only other option (for the tweet to be even vaguely accurate) is that there is a bedroom on each bus and Dan and Phil are each taking one, and if that were the case I'm pretty sure they'd have led with that. (Also, that'd be such a diva move, forcing Martyn and Cornelia into bunks so they could each have a bed to themselves.)Lain wrote:Exhausting bus speculation under a spoiler for those that are tired of it:

Or one for merch and props and one for Dan's hideous shoes so they don't infect everything else...sweetmm wrote:

(Tumblr bus video person says bus is blue and black with light-coloured (probably white) stripes so that one with the bedroom upthread could be it)

I will never be tired of the bus talk until it's figured out for sure.Lain wrote:Exhausting bus speculation under a spoiler for those that are tired of it:
(Also, I love that we're just trying so hard to find the thing they described to us... two bedrooms in at least a kind of similar bus... and yet... it's nowhere to be found... )
