I don't remember Dan ignoring specific topics, but I do know, from watching old videos and seeing now how Adrian is, that he grew up as a typical middle-class white British boy, where racism is so entrenched in your reality and view of the world that you do not even notice, you cannot possibly acknowledge it.
I am almost moved to tears by this statement because yes, the U.K. is a wonderful place of progress and I refuse to see it as the worst and most racist people in the world, but it does have its problems when you go and look at the more populist movements that tabloids do fuel.
And Dan is showing such a level of maturity and growth in his ability to finally see through this and speak up for it. It's amazing.
You would think that racism wouldn't even be questioned when it comes from two witnesses (Harry and Meghan), when it points out at a country that has a deeply silenced history of racism (see Why I am no longer talking to white people about race) and yet Piers Morgan is such a big, prominent name in the media, someone who can even sound reasonable. Because he does not speak like Trump. He speaks like Obama and sounds so "smart" that people do believe him.

Hey, does anyone know the name of the anime/show that they talked about in the last show that Dan had an emotional reaction to? Maybe it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but I can't find it.
This is from earlier but no one has posted it and it has been completely satisfying my needs to as a mindless, repetitive distraction from doing all the things I should be doing in life, 9/10 would recommend.

Upon listening to the last stereo show for the umpteenth time, I just caught Dan’s pun of calling Phil’s cactus crew “a bunch of pricks”! I love him!

I have blown the dust off of my bingo card maker so I can play along today.

I caught the pun the first time but it wasn't until later that I realized ofc Dan is also a member of Phil's channel, so really he's just calling himself a prickSusanisnotafish wrote: Tue Mar 09, 2021 6:48 am Upon listening to the last stereo show for the umpteenth time, I just caught Dan’s pun of calling Phil’s cactus crew “a bunch of pricks”! I am very much looking forward to the stereo later today, knowing these shows are coming has really been pulling me through the days as finals approach at uni. I'm also kind of interested to see what the vibe is like after a them being somewhat quieter (compared to the last two weeks) this weekend and Dan mentioning having a bad mental health day. Honestly I would love to hear them talk about how/if such days or periods effect them in terms of making and posting content, although idk if they ever would 'cause it might cause people to read too much into times when they don't post as much, which could also be for other reasons.
Edit: I am living for the bingo board, especially 'Phil says fuck the tories' lmao. I mean, if Phil wanted to make his big break into swearing in context 'cause he wants to and means it, it's a great chance, I'd love to see it.

I also just realized I TOTALLY left Dan mentioning marriage/commitment issues off the board, and that's one of the first ones I thought of while methodically laying out the card in my mind while in the shower this morning. (As one does.)

Omg, I am so impressed bu these Bingo cards you guys produce.
They scare me for how accurate they are!
Can someone make a IDB bingo card? What each new thread will inevitably touch on? xD
I would LOVE for Dan to touch on Meghan/Harry denouncing Britain's systematic racism. I guess it's too serious of a topic but can I hope for a little nod at least?

Haha this is so funny and freaky cos I made myself one when I couldn't sleep last night just for a laugh! I didn't share is as I realised I had a rogue letter on a wrong line and I couldn't be bothered to redo it. But mine is here https://imgur.com/WPGFmmD - too funny that they both have similar stuff on.alittledizzy wrote: Tue Mar 09, 2021 3:53 pm I have blown the dust off of my bingo card maker so I can play along today.

Aww thanks! If you wanna collab on one for Thursday lemme know cos I am happy to make one! I am so bored. Mr FC has managed to escape the country (and me) for business and I am unimpressed, unamused and honestly ... just bored. Who do I annoy now!?alittledizzy wrote: Tue Mar 09, 2021 5:42 pmomg "house husbants" I'm already in love with this, and yours is SO PRETTY!! Also "vagina reference gone wrong" - lmao too real. why is that so cute
They've updated show info for today - Relocating Roommates - and it appears they're trying a live caption service!

This is all starting to feel like a new era of “giving the people what they want”, except maybe now it aligns to what they actually want to put out in the world and not just fan service obligation, or at least I hope so.rizzo wrote: Tue Mar 09, 2021 7:00 pm i feel personally attacked by this. both for its content and for the reminder that we never got the vegas video. God I hope they know how directly they are opening themselves up for an 'OMG they were roommates' jokealittledizzy wrote: Tue Mar 09, 2021 7:42 pm babieswhy is that so cute

Also? mentioning vegas in the promo insta story? I hope this means at least one funny vegas trip anecdote is on the docket today.

I don’t wanna imply anything but I need to say that it‘s funny how Dan talked about abandonment issues instead of commitment issues this time and how that coincidentally happened after the discussion that the phandom had after the last liveshow. Incredible how things happen.

Phil ending the show with "yeah" made me think the same thing, because that was also a topic of discussion in my little social media corner.glitterintheair wrote: Tue Mar 09, 2021 10:05 pm I don’t wanna imply anything but I need to say that it‘s funny how Dan talked about abandonment issues instead of commitment issues this time and how that coincidentally happened after the discussion that the phandom had after the last liveshow. So this one seemed to go by so fast! It did feel more relaxed to me that some of the other shows, despite several long Dan rants, but just in general I think they are having a good time, which translates. I do think they are repeating some conversational stuff -- dog talk, stories we've heard before -- and I would very much have liked to have heard more "dumb adulting" stories, but they seem to be settling into a bit more a rhythm which I like.

The dog thing was actually something brought up via audio message and I almost got the feeling like Dan was exasperated with it. I wonder if he's remembering that dealing with nonstop repetition in questions you're asked is part of liveshows? Especially when the phandom itself considers it something of an injoke, which 'Dan and Phil get a dog' kind of is.Megancita75 wrote: Tue Mar 09, 2021 10:58 pm So this one seemed to go by so fast! But I definitely agree that this seemed like a much more chill, relaxed liveshow. I absolutely could have listened to an entire hour of dumb adulting stories. I could do without the news/future part, it seemed very Phil in an otherwise very Dan show.
Without having listened again, highlights were definitely the gloryhole section, learning that Dan just didn't bring his laundry to Phil's but made Phil do his laundry, the cabbage story, and every time Phil lovingly roasted Dan for being a fail.
