Sometimes the past smacks me in the face with how far from their old personas they are. We were joking on april 1st, but if you'd told 2016 phandom that they would make clear that they don't have separate rooms ("sometimes I don't want to be in the same room as you") and joking about getting a divorce over peas...

I had to miss yesterday's show and just now listened to it and wow I love them. Timestamps and upload are incoming but first reaction:

I really loved Dan saying "Phil really showed up for work today." and referencing the Stereo as work because god you guys THEY ARE WORKING TOGETHER AGAIN?! Good timeline indeed.

Also Dan was quick to tell us Phil's opinion on the foods. He's in LOVE love with Phil. I wonder if the fact that he had a bad weekend plays into it? I wonder if he's maybe just a bit extra in love with Phil during times when Phil's been there for him during bad moods or stressed phases? (I'm getting sappy, I know it. Don't judge me.)

And the divorce comment!! The casual joking!! Look, after this run of Stereo shows, however long it lasts, you will never convince me that Dan and Phil just don't give a shit about us as a core audience knowing and openly discussing how they're a couple and that they're really just looking to avoid more outside fandom attention that could bleed into the reception of other projects of theirs.

Also Dan making a huge deal about realizing there was something about Phil he's never seen (Phil on a bike). Dan's now spent 40% of his life with Phil, and over half of his life that he can REMEMBER with Phil (what I'm discounting there is the five-ish years of early childhood where memories are sparse) and of course 100% of his adult life. Just, like, man. No wonder he considers them married enough for a mushy pea divorce.

Mmmm yes to this. Also, there's a small theory building in my brain that they (or Dan) are using the stereos to become more comfortable talking about their life together to a smaller dedicated audience who is already basically in the know, because the book might bring it more to the wider public. If it does, that has to be a scary thing and using the shows to practice dropping casual comments like the divorce joke makes sense to me.

7:36 - Dan is bleeding right now, because he's signing a lot of books. (About ten thousand pieces of paper on it.) Dan procrastinated signing them until the day they were due. Phil also forgot when Dan's book comes out.
9:22 - Dan had a sensitive weekend and spent the weekend logged off. Danny's tea topic: how does social media make you feel in the good ways and the bad ways?
10:57 - "I know that you are less neurotic than me, Phil." Phil thinks he's gotten better at consuming social media. He found it stressful for a while if he clicked on trending topics or something that wasn't part of his bubble. He likes his replies and seeing what his friends are tweeting and that's the bubble that he enjoys being in. He won't even click things he likes trending because he'll see opinions that make him stressed.

13:26 - Phil would have been deep into the Buffy fandom. He was on Buffy forums chatting to people. (Dan shades forum. Phil defends that there's still forums out there.)

14:50 - Dan feels like he has to follow celebrity and politics to stay informed and his problem is not having a nice bubble.
15:42 - Phil talks about how instagram gives him people with unattainable looks. Instagram recs him a shirtless guy ("lol Phil's gay shirtless guy") whose head isn't real. Head is photoshopped on and facetuned. The vision of what is being presented is not that person and it makes Phil look at himself and go why don't I look like that.

18:22 - Dan thinks that user has 'me energy' bc he knows all about mental health but has the worst mental health ever.
19:30 - Dan has information overload issues. He needs to be more chaotic, also with posting.
22:20 - User message: listener uses twitter eleven hours a day. Dan comments on how their phone must be plugged in all day.
20:46 - User message: if you make things it's nice to see other people get involved and just ignore all the people that are really mean.

23:20 - Phil got instagram scammed. They lured him in with a picture of a cool hoodie and then realized it was not a real website.
24:30 - Dan has been spending a lot of time delving into his youtube aglorithm. He usually just checks his subscription feed but loves what youtube thinks he should watch, and lately it's weird. Random meme videos that are three seconds long.
25:16 - Phil thinks the algorithm has been changed to be better because he's getting things he would click on. They've both been recommending a dog grooming youtuber with a good ASMR voice.
26:28 - Dan asks users to send in weird stuff youtube recommends to you. Phil specifies stuff you actually watch and think 'that's for me.' Phil gets Arthur compilations and Dan is mad because Phil didn't even watch Arthur, he wasn't a CBBC child. Phil also mentions the 'give him to me' weasel.
28:00 - User message: falling bread and waffles.
29:00 - User message: rats doing weird things, like yawning and smiling and clenching their fists in rage.
29:30 - Phil keeps getting 'will it flush' which is just a toilet and a guys hands. He puts things like 1000 m&ms down a toilet to see if it'll flush.
30:30 Dan's right now: Girl with dogs, hedge hog playing jazz, Formula 1 cute moments. Boring boomer dad sport and yet Dan has stumbled across a lovely cute girl edit of some bromance. It's a whole fancam cute moment. Dan's obviously falling into a bucket there. And a video of someone that's built a house in New Zealand.
31:30 - Phil: Their house got finished, what's that like. Dan: Bruh.
31:50 - Dan wants space. Sometimes he just doesn't want to be in the same room as Phil. They agree that it would be good if there was one more room.
32:00 - Phil's: Tom Holland falling off of a chair, what happens if you get coronavirus, and lots of toilets flushing.
32:48 - User message: guy making pools.
33:34 - Phil's last one is hamsters escaping mazes. Dan used to build mazes out of paper for Suki for enrichment. Phil used to do it with video types, and he had the sky restaurant at the center of the maze.
34:35 - Dan's grandmother had to talk to him about how he keeps doing chores to get money for plastic shit for his hamster.
34:59 - User message: someone keeps getting piss kink tiktoks. Dan stops the message halfway through, then plays it again.
35:51 - Phil's tiktok kink: paint mixing. That was Dan's job at the hardware store.
36:50 - User message: someone watched an entire fifteen minute video about people fishing for special crabs.
37:15 - Dan spons the subscription feature and money going to charity.
38:42 - Dan's Tuesday game: Dan in the Pan. He wants people to suggest their favorite food and Dan will give it a grade... is it in his pan or is he throwing it at the wall? He starts off by tossing creme eggs.
39:45 - "Phil turned up for work today." re: Phil suggesting the Dan/flan rhyme.
40:05 - Dan gives creme eggs a C, and broccoli an S tier. He hated broccoli as a child because British mothers in the noughties didn't know how to cook and his mum would put it on the plate with no seasoning. Phil says it's a B, but a good B.
41:36 - Pineapple on pizza. Dan says it is not in his pan. It's a D tier food.
42:01 - Mushy peas. Dan loves a mushy pea, and Phil doesn't. "This... this is the divorce right now, live on Stereo." Phil doesn't like baby food pre-eaten by a bird and poured into his mouth. Phil's tongue wants a real pea. Dan: Something about your youtube recommended about that person's tiktok feed.
43:01 - Licorice. Phil loves it. Dan does not, and tells Bella to take her money back.
43:51 - Curry. Dan gives it an S tier, best flavor. Phil says they had curry yesterday. Phil couldn't have it for breakfast, he needs sugar in the morning. Phil's specifices they're talking about Indian curry, though he loves a Thai curry. (But not for breakfast.)
45:11 - Buttered ramen noodles. Butter and a little garlic powder with ramen noodles (water drained). The both think it sounds good, though Dan adds wrong and dirty. Dan points out they have all those ingredients.
45:55 - Dill pickle spears. That is in Dan's pan, and Phil despite being a massive homo doesn't like gherkin. Insert all the sexual innuendo here. Phil will put one in his burger but wouldn't chew on a big pickle.
48:00 - Shoutout section. One person is listening with their girlfriend, one person is recovering from covid, one person can't ride a bike.
50:45 - Phil thinks bikes are scary. Dan realizes he has never seen Phil ride a bike. He thinks it would be like a horse trying to use a unicycle. Phil gets nervous on roads, and Dan makes him promise to never get on a bike.
51:45 - User asks Phil about linguistics. Phil liked forensic phonetics best.
52:58 - They try to do danger men at work again.
53:00 - Someone from Australia thanks them for starting their day.

Can we talk about this for a second? Because it took me off guard. It really seemed like they wanted us to pick up on that because they kept saying “one more room” over and over. And mind you, I am not someone who thinks that everything they say has a ~deeper meaning, but in this instance? I am 100% sure they did it on purpose, just like the divorce comment.

Edit to add that I hope that if they’re indeed doing these things on purpose, they’ll be encouraged to do more after seeing that our reaction to their shenanigans is not losing our marbles but mostly taking the piss and making jokes. It wouldn’t have been like this two years ago.

Doesn’t look like the Moon room bed or the AP set bed, which are both white and shinny. Plus the furniture in this apartment comes with is rented. We won’t be seeing any of it again. So most likely this is a spare bed they bought for the other room in the living apartment. Pj and Sophie stayed over and so did Dan’s grandparents right? I doubt they made them go sleep in an completely separate apartment.

It's the gaming room. They don't have the living flat anymore, so no more access to the moon room (or office that we never saw). All their shit is stuffed in the old gaming room - the one you see in that story - and probs some of the filming kitchen/lounge. There are also boxes where Phil currently films - behind the glass (aka where Dan used to film), because he showed us that. Which means - the only place they've got left is Phil's old "bedroom" - where they're likely sleeping.... under "Phil's" newish buck duvet.

Which brings me to a topic that's been briefly mentioned and that continues to wild me out: Cannot believe they've essentially admitted to sharing a bedroom at this point. Like - there's clearly no other option and they know that we know??? Wild. WILD.

Because he’s so stressed, Dan is getting more (jokingly) aggressive everyday; mate just needs to go outside and scream for a good couple minutes.
I really liked the show (expect the parts where Phil gets interrupted, lol what’s new). Favourite moment was when Phil mentioned the guy on his explore page and said “shirtless guy, lol Phil’s gay”. It reminds me of the clip from the gaming channel where he says “funny joke Phil”.
