I do wonder whether Phil is doing the questions video to slyly address something or because he knows a lot people like/will watch. I’m kinda leaning towards its popularity for this one.

momager is literally the perfect descriptionalittledizzy wrote: Tue Apr 13, 2021 9:12 pm The fact that we knew they were gonna be temporary and that they lasted so much longer than I ever thought SHOULD make this easier - and alright, it probably does, I just don't have the right perspective at the moment to judge - but I'm emo as fuck right now.
While at the same time being excited as fuck for everything to come. I love that Dan's got so many plans and ideas and I love that Phil's got Dan on his side pushing him and 'momager'ing him.

Every week I'm struck by how they truly are each others biggest fans. They are so so excited not only for their own projects but for the other one's as well. It's probably the key component in why they've been able to "be Dan and Phil for so long" while also (seemingly) having a healthy relationship.
They just want the best for each other

I'm in the middle of time stamping yesterdays show and... god the number of topics they covered that I just really love them talking about?! I'm just over halfway through and actual timestamps are coming but - ugh it's so good.
- Their thoughts on queer representation in the 90s/their ideal type of queer representation.
- Dan acknowledging that short form content is hard for him and he's more interested in doing long form things.
- Dan's desire to encourage Phil/Phil's tendency to take a no and give up.
- Feeling adult because they're buying a home together after years of being 'Dan and Phil' and living in strange places, plus Dan literally calling it a forever home.

I loved Phils' thoughts on representation, and the self awareness regarding having the confidence to chase up on his gameshow. Both sharing things I wasn't expecting.alittledizzy wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 5:09 pm I'm in the middle of time stamping yesterdays show and... god the number of topics they covered that I just really love them talking about?! Also that forever home line - with them going forever home...idk is it i don't know it's just the next thing. I think I get what they mean, it's a dream home, and they are so excited to live there and everything, but I think he called it that as thats what fans have called it?
Whereas they call it a dream home so they *might* end up living in it forever or careers might take them somewhere else whether that's to having loads more money and a dream mansion or just to another country or something? Might just be my take. I just got the vibe that their plan was forever together and the house was just the add on dream place to live, but they might have bigger dreams in future?
I could just be being in an emotional glass case. Who knows.

If we consider how much effort they put in that house, I think it’s fair to assume their plan is to stay there for a long time but who knows what the future might hold for them. I am thinking about Safiya and Tyler who moved into a house just last year but then they moved again very recently (side note: I absolutely loved their moving blog, it was so chill and gave off such cozy vibes, @ dnp take notes).

I think it might be the 'forever' that trips them up because I can also see them having discussed a nice retirement place on Isle of Man or something, or maybe they're factoring in that if work took them to another city even semi-long term.glitterintheair wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:23 pm If we consider how much effort they put in that house, I think it’s fair to assume their plan is to stay there for a long time but who knows what the future might hold for them. Though I do also feel like they're two people that really value their roots together and after spending three years making this place won't be pulled away from it easily.

Oh totally I didn't mean they *did* plan to move. Just that I think they haven't planned to never move and knew ish happens in life, either life changes or just not limiting your future plans and dreams. For example mr FC and i have a place, and I don't think we have ever had a discussion about how long we will stay here, forever or otherwise. Who knows!glitterintheair wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:23 pm If we consider how much effort they put in that house, I think it’s fair to assume their plan is to stay there for a long time but who knows what the future might hold for them. And omg yesss their moving vid, totally get them with the getting fast food for two days running cos convenience and and then swiftly remembering why you don't normally do that cos it makes you feel horrendous. I might watch that easibake oven thing now, I don't think they had that for sale when I was young, although it's 135 pounds here so even if they did there was no chance of me getting that haha!

10:31 - He describes himself as liking creating in long form. He doesn't do short, little things. (Like one 45 minute video, or a book.) He liked doing a two hour stage show.
11:14 - 2021 Dan energy, Basically I'm Gay on stage with a different theme, theatricality of the Dan and Phil shows. His touring agent called him to say Australia is opening up but he didn't want to leave the rest of the world out. It's "on the table."

18:23 - Audio message: deep dive on queer representation in media. He talks about how he didn't see representation growing up before youtube.

I always thought we knew this would be the forever home because in the liveshow after they moved, Dan said the current apartment[s] wasn't a forever home. Negative inference, I guess.fruitcriminals wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:03 pm

The forever home thing, I guess to me ... he said it on a live show, tired, mid box moving into a rental property. And fans are the ones that ran with specific wording he used. That's all I meant. Not that he never called it that. Just that he might have meant this isn't a place we own so it's not a forever home. Maybe his biggest dream in life at that point in 2017 could have been buying one home forever. Which is cool. But in 2017 perhaps a netflix show, youtube series, coming out to his family, BIG, his own book and things beyond were also a pipe dream? So now they're just like...well shit, this is our home for the foreseeable future, and we'll just enjoy life. Maybe we stay here forever, maybe we upgrade/emigrate/retire as we see fit at the time? I mean it has so many variables.lefthandedism wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 9:20 pmI always thought we knew this would be the forever home because in the liveshow after they moved, Dan said the current apartment[s] wasn't a forever home. In 2017 they already had purchased a place together and they knew they'd be designing from the ground up - we know they were already committed that far back. So I feel like the word choice is not entirely incidental. They've also said they were looking for a place in 2016 too, these boys wanted a place of THEIR OWN so very badly. I do think they haven't ruled out an eventual upgrade or move but this place has a lot of their heart into it, too.fruitcriminals wrote: Wed Apr 14, 2021 10:43 pmThe forever home thing, I guess to me ... he said it on a live show, tired, mid box moving into a rental property. How does one submit questions?
The mauve ones are boys and the white ones are girls, and the blue ones are just little sillies who are not sure what they are. - J. M. Barrie
Welp. I submitted a question for Phil's video.
@AmazingPhil
My therapist wants me to ask you this.
You are a person whose friend Dan has struggled w mental health issues. I really worry my mental health impacts my friends+family negatively. How do you look after your own mental health while being there for your friend?
My therapist really did tell me to ask. XD
I hope it gets answered, I feel like it could be impactful.

I think questions were submitted through the insta story questions widget thing. Which has been gone for a day or two since it was only up for 24 hours. Not sure, but he very may well have filmed the video by now, if not for sure chosen/screenshotted his choice of questions.

final stereo impending, how we feeling, friends?
think they're gonna drop any lowkey bombs on us or is it just gonna be a fond farewell to the shows?
gotta say i'm really glad they told us before it was over. see, they do learn! no dapg hiatus-ing here. and if they ever do come back (aka stereo slides them that wad of cash again) it'll just be a pleasant surprise.

I'm also very glad they told us beforehand, but I can't help the light feeling of dread that I'm experiencing, my brain has been conditioned to expect impeding doom when it comes to them and things ending lmao
I'm hoping for a bit more house talk, and some more news about Phil's videos and future projects, though I know that's not gonna happen and we'll get some more Dan book promo. Which is fine, I'll just tune it out lol
I honestly don't expect them to use the app again unless they get a new sponsorship, but if they do it'll be a nice surprise. I hope it rekindled their interest in sharing more with the audience, that has been a lovely collateral!

I keep thinking, if Dan does like long form stuff and has remembered he likes interacting with the audience, like god damn... a weekly or even bi-monthly podcast.... nothing is stopping you, boys.liola wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 1:41 pm I'm also very glad they told us beforehand, but I can't help the light feeling of dread that I'm experiencing, my brain has been conditioned to expect impeding doom when it comes to them and things ending lmao

It's a bitter sweet feeling today. The stereos have exceeded all of my expectations and made these past few weeks so much more enjoyable. I'm really sad to see them go, but it's fully understandable with all of the stuff coming up.
The next few weeks we can look forward to
- Phil video
- Dan book
- That panel Dan is going to be on
- Probably more book promo stuff
- THE MOVE wow I would kill for a Moving day in the life type video

I am glad they told us beforehand too (see, maybe calling them out when they deserve it is not a bad idea after all) although this time it was kind of.. expected that it was going to end so I am not going through the same post-december 2018 liveshow shock. However, I am sad because who knows when something like this will happen again. I do hope they won't just go back to how things were before stereo, though. Dan completely vanishing wasn't great and I know it's not gonna happen in the next weeks/few months because the book is about to come out, but after that and the pride project? hmm... and also the whole weird not acknowledging each other thing was weird as hell and I pray we won't have to experience it again.
I keep thinking that a podcast - not necessarily stereo - is something they should seriously consider as a form of semi-regular content. Even once a month would be great. Dan especially has seemed to like the stereo shows, so.. I'll keep my expectations low but I hope they'll think about it once they moved and all their projects have come out.

I totally agree. I think dan genuinely loves doing these live shows, always has. And doing it with Phil, plus somewhat unexpected input from the live audience, makes it fun and less sombre than what dan's soliloquies um.. live shows used to be. I hope they can see this opportunity. If not as anything else, please see it as an easy way to make money. Put a mic each in front of you once or twice a month, record it, film it, no or minimal editing, publish it, done! lolglitterintheair wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 2:12 pm I keep thinking that a podcast - not necessarily stereo - is something they should seriously consider as a form of semi-regular content. A forever home doesn’t have to be like… the home you want to be in age 90, just one you want to live in and love for your foreseeable future. I would say that my childhood home was my parents “forever” home because they lived in it for 25 years and poured their heart into it, just because they’ve recently moved into another house because the old one has too many stairs and they’re getting older doesn’t make my childhood home not a forever home for themalittledizzy wrote: Thu Apr 15, 2021 12:20 amIn 2017 they already had purchased a place together and they knew they'd be designing from the ground up - we know they were already committed that far back. Whereas my home I bought I know I will only own for the next 5ish years, I can’t imagine me living in it when I’m in my 40s etc, so I wouldn’t call it a forever home, even though I love it and am doing it up to be beautiful.
I think for d&p this home will be one they can love and live in and feel theirs for much of the adult life, but it doesn't still have to be their house when they are old and grey to justify the forever title

I'm not a homeowner, but I do think there is a psychological/emotional difference in owning vs renting, and that's mostly what I think about when people talk about "forever" home. Like, I've rented my current apartment for 12 years and I can't say that it emotionally feels like a home to me 100% because there is still always this unconscious transitory/temporary feel to it -- like, any day my landlady could decide she wants to convert this to an AirBnB or move into it herself, and I can't make certain changes to it that would suit my style/functionality preferences. So yeah, I think moving into the ownership phase of a living situation just feels different in terms of control and stability.
I've also been a bit stuck on Dan's tour show and how it sounds like it was going to be a long-form storytelling show, but on a different theme than BIG. So other than mental health and sexuality, I'm very curious what else Dan would want to talk about for the length of such a show. Fame? The Internet? Creativity?
As for Phil, maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't know that I'd want to see him as the host of a game show. For some reason (even though it doesn't benefit me as a fan), I'd like to see him do non-camera work right now more that on-camera work. Writing, collaborating in some way with other people, maybe doing an animation of some sort. I think I want to see him do something that's all about his creativity being the product, and not his on-camera personality.
I've also been a bit stuck on Dan's tour show and how it sounds like it was going to be a long-form storytelling show, but on a different theme than BIG. So other than mental health and sexuality, I'm very curious what else Dan would want to talk about for the length of such a show. Fame? The Internet? Creativity?
