Dan & Phil Part 16: Old, Hungover, and Probably High

I'm pretty sure that for there is a real divide between their youtube personalities and who they really are. So for example while I can believe that AmazingPhil and danisnotonfire aren't a couple, I do believe that Dan Howell and Phil Lester are one.

IDK, I think play pretty close to who they are irl. The BBC show and the ls are unedited, so it would be hard to remain in character 100% of the time (if they were "in character.") Same with their collabs: would be difficult to play something you aren't. So, yea they may have more depth / things they don't talk about on-camera, but I think we see who they really are for the most part.

I think it's more a case of showing a facet of themselves and not playing a character. It's an argument that's been made a lot on here, but - we are different people in different situations, and that doesn't mean any specific part is entirely dishonest. The facet they choose to put forward in videos, radio, liveshows, etc is their friendship - and the relationship side is reserved for people they actually know, and their private lives.

I'm not saying that they are totally fake or just playing a character whenever we see them, but I do think that there is a line between what we get to see and who they really are. I mean there are clearly some parts of their lives that we don't even really get a glimpse of or maybe even things that we just don't know about it. I can't really explain this well, but for me there is a difference between Dan Howell and danisnotonfire and the same goes for Phil. Although I do feel like that line has become smaller lately.

I love the shoes! They were all over pride fest when I went. I wanted them, but not for the price. What the hell size feet does Phil have? There were some mighty big sizes (15) at the booth there. So I am sure he could find some online. Maybe he got them for Dan to live vicariously through his footwear.

I love Dan unashamedly wear those shoes and proudly showing it off. Poor Phil cannot have those shoes for himself.
