Wow I know they did £10 tickets for the one is London but free! That seems quite unfair. I would be pissed tbh.
I know they are trying to get rid of seats but just discount them or do an offer like bogof! They really don't want an empty theatre on film!

One of my favourite band, White Lies, had a concert in Poland for free once. I had a holiday, so i spend 15 hours on a train to be there, where are my plane tickets to LA?!
But yeah, i would be mad if i'd bought ticket and someone next to me went for free. They should made discount first, or something.

Just spent 10 minutes looking for tickets to LA for me and my sisphan (kathrynxjane) to get to LA, if we include vidcon it's only going to be about £2500 which is totally worth it for free tickets, gotta love a bargain!

You make a good point there, so now I'm hoping that other people will edit it all togehter. Otherwise we might have to wait a few years.

Well, clearly no one at all saw this coming... Agree with what everyone else is saying, this seems kind of tough on those who have already paid for tickets, especially as it was so easy to predict at least a discount being necessary from their London experience. I was a little bitter about the London tickets being discounted to £10 the day after I'd spent £25 on mine, giving them away for free would be even worse! They look like good seats going free, too.

And as for the free seats right in front of the stage, those are probably the VIP tickets they've not yet sold, and so might well stay unoccupied or have people moved into them on the night for filming purposes.

Why would they even need all of the front for the cameras ? Several artists record their shows and they don't lock down all the front seats for the cameras... yeah pretty bad lie

I think he's telling a bit of truth and a bit of a lie. I don't think they expected this show to fill, I think they just booked it so they essentially had two takes of everything they did that night. It means if they majorly fuck up something in one show they aren't forced to put that in an official recording.

But I think the whole 'these tickets opened up because of camera placement' line is bs. I think they expected it not to sell well and planned all along to bounce some tickets free. (Also, they're not technically free, they're still $10-$15 with tax and processing fees. So it seems like about the same as what they did in the UK.)

Seriously, why did they think that that second show was a good idea? Did they learn nothing from those last minute added dates in the UK? Why is so much of this tour planned so badly? If the issue is that there's no more room for cameras in the first show, they should've planned that properly beforehand. Also is there no one else involved who actually knows how to plan things and how tours work, and maybe kick them and talk dumb ideas out of their heads?

And yeah I'd be pissed if I paid full price.

Ngl, I cringed a little bit when I saw this tweet and his response. I know it's only twitter and there's a huge chance he won't see what one person writes to him BUT there's always also this small possibility that he will, so it's like a semidirect contact with him. And I can bully him here a little bit but I'd never ever in a million years have the guts to say that to him directly.

Situations like these are the main reason why I always side eye theories (Phan related or otherwise) that assume Deppy are some mastermind planners and control freaks and that they almost always know what they're doing. They're kings of chaos to me. Obviously it's usually a controlled chaos and it's worked out quite well for their lives, but still. During this tour they're breaking their own records methinks

i'd say its like 70% a lie. they definitely didnt sell as much as they thought but they also cant have expected to sell out. and i do believe there were more available seats than they first expected, but most of those ~new seats~ would have been available anyway.
