Really sad that we're missing the last bit of the panel.
Edit: Never mind they are back.

The stream ended I guess? This seems to be the recorded version. For some reason the audio is gone for me

Lucky that we have twitter, because otherwise I would have missed this part.crash[] wrote:Stream is kill but Twitter is always here.
Christ.
Go Phil for using that tactic.
Not going to lie I was very disappointed by the panel, I knew it wasn't going to go too deep but did not go too far beyond "editing tips" and "kanye is my dad"
two things I loved though were
-Phil had a dream where he was eaten by a giant lizard and he enjoyed it
-He also got into editing videos when he would do fan videos of Buffy

I really enjoyed this panel I found the moderator to be really great at what he does. Right off the bat having all the creators come out together gave them confidence in equality with the number of screams which I thought was a very lovely idea. Every person on the panel played a role and I found myself loving each person equally. Like Flula was damn hilarious and had me clutching my stomach in laughter. Jenna Marbles is a queen who is beautiful, funny and honest about everything she does. Even Marcus who I find so utterly boring was a nice surprise and he came off as sweet and endearing throughout.
Now for the boys! God I really do love them in this. Dan was amazing in the way that he reigned in the crowd and controlled what he said. He was so genuine in his advice and even though I hate his self-deprecating humor, it was a good look on him. Him being a fan that made it really spoke about the youtube culture. I also love how he always lowkey #spons his spoiler vid-misemma you might be on to something
Also him leaving his meme culture and taking this panel as an opportunity to give new creators actual advice was lovely. No lie I cracked up on his "editing tips" but I also appreciated how he quickly reeled in the audience afterwards.
Phil was amazing as well and I really felt like I saw this side of him that's rare. He always tends to give viewers advice about how to not care about what others think and just make what you enjoy and I think that really encapsulates Phil and his content. He makes things because he wants it not because he thinks it will be popular. It was also nice to get some insight on his buffy fanvids because that was new knowledge that I never knew. I also found it interesting that he referred to his change as a youtuber in relation to his content. He says he remained at his core the same but that "he was a new amazing with he old amazingphil inside him". This gave me the impression that he was aware about his audience finding a huge contrast in his content and he was assuring them that at the core his channel has remained similar. Also him giving Dan encouraging looks ad commenting about Dan's "idea walk" was a little insight on domestic Phil that we rarely see. He was so Phil Lester in this and I appreciated it greatly.
All in all, I REALLY LOVED THIS PANEL AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO REWATCHING ON YOUTUBE

And especially seeing chill Phil. We almost never see him and hear him talk in situations like this. Though that may have had something to do with me not being able to see facial expressions bhaha but no I don't know.

I was quite disappointed with Dan, that he stayed on a brand but I think that Phil actually tried to give honest answers and we learned something new. Dan avoided some questions and answered something little bit different and used his go to answers. I really liked Phil in this panel.000dia000 wrote:Not going to lie I was very disappointed by the panel, I knew it wasn't going to go too deep but did not go too far beyond "editing tips" and "kanye is my dad"

i dont care if its nervous talking or whatever he is just incredibly rude and annoying. He is a 25 year old man. He is supposed to be a professional. attention seeking is no longer cute on him. He should work on those things. It must be a nightmare to work with dan.
Phils answers may be short and he is quiet but he is always on point (like in this panel). i dont think he needs dans obnoxious useless waffles or any help really. Dan interrupts people and he repeats whatever they said in his over-dramatic, fake way adding nothing of substance or anything interesting, he is not helping anyone..
phil made fanvideos for buffy finally some new info came out of their mouths. its like christmas
dan obsession with kanye fucked up a perfectly nice moment again.... i dont even know where to begin. Is he doing it for the "brand"? is he serious? because both are

I think it's just something Dan is used to. He tends to cringe and act really embarrassed about his past instead of looking at it fondly and I can see how that could have taken away. But taking it from another perceptive he kinda try to show how he's grown a bit and how he used inspiration from others to influence his own success.tymyky wrote:I was quite disappointed with Dan, that he stayed on a brand but I think that Phil actually tried to give honest answers and we learned something new. If their roles were reversed I think a lot more people would find it weird. I do hope it's just a schtick and she isn't as abrasive in private, nevertheless Dan's hug was cute

And Dan...we got to see a bit of the creator side, the Dan Howell as opposed to the lolmemelord!kanyedoge who we've come to know and love but tends to dominate what we see of him. I'm glad he expanded a little on his whole "I knew what I wanted to do from day one" from TABINOF and packaged it all as advice to new creators out there. The panel was mainly folks who'd started out when they didn't know what to expect and were just going with the flow (all of them were amusing yet insightful) but Dan brought the how-do-I-get-into-what's-already-established perspective which may have resonated more with those trying to get started nowadays. He kept it light and fun but also broke away from it enough to be sincere. He even dropped the self-deprecating schtick long enough to send the message that you really can start from the bottom, at least skills-wise. Then Phil chimed in about his mumbling and pacing I missed the last several minutes when it dropped out but look forward to catching it all when it posts.
She seems so obnoxious... I haven't seen her actual videos, but little vloggy bits/previous vidcon stuff really put me off checking out her content.fancybum wrote: ...

Oh Phil, there was never a better king of the universe.
