This is very true, +1 on being bitter af. I think what really hits us the most is the lack of liveshows. Their content has been meh for a while, but boy do I miss the liveshows. If there is one thing that can make Dan and Phil's popularity die I'm sure it's this. I think the majority of us are far more invested in their lives than their content, because, let's be real, has there been an outstanding main channel video in the last, let's say, six months?

Phil's animal psycic video was really good, but Dan's video wasn't. I agree with the lack of liveshows being an issue for their popularity. Tyler Oakley's YT views really took a turn for the worst once he stopped uploading regularly because he was on Amazing Race and making a documentary or whatever. I think lack of uploading or updating is a huge factor in how YTers lose interest.

with Dil being a major part of tatinof they have to be very clever with this series. Unless they've activated the live forever aspect of the game they can't risk Dil dying as then the show won't make sense. Although we know they are going to Australia next, we still don't know about Asia or Europe. That might not be planned until next year so they need to space Dil out as much as they can to avoid ruining a major aspect of the show.
I agree with you though, the gaming channel has definitely suffered a lot. It's a shame because it's definitely my favourite aspect of 'Dan and Phil'. I always said that two full months on tour would bring this drought, but even I didn't think it would be so bad, to the point of wishing tatinof was over which is a shame seeing as I enjoyed the UK leg so much.
Completely agree. That gaming channel is the best part of D&P. I can live without AP and DINOF but not having any gaming videos is killing me. It worries me that I even miss Dil at this point! There has been loads of games come our that I would love them to play but it is weeks past now.
It has been the world's longest Undetale play through. I feel sorry for the people who only watch D&Ps playthrough as it is months between episodes.

I thought the drought through the Uk one was bad and was expecting drought this time but nothing like this. I wouldn't have been upset if they did bloody LS! Not one in 2 months.

I just want them to come home now and film some bloody videos for when they are in Australia!

Given that the two are control freaks and like to edit their videos to death, would it really matter if they uploaded a few gaming videos that are less edited than others? Like normal gaming youtubers do? While I don't doubt that filming, performing for the camera, and editing is tiring but if it's your actual job then wtf are they doing?

eevee: You are right, Phil's last video was really cute, but it's been so long I had almost forgotten about it. I do suffer the most with the lack of liveshows, though. They were my favourite thing of them

So since he can't hang out by the pool now, he should have time to film a video. ;)

I don't give a f anymore, they are on holiday or at least in an airport. I don't even care about a video I want a ls. :sideeye:
At least take a picture with one of them.

At least they're kinda making an end of tour holiday out of it? Or so it seems. They deserve it after being locked up in a tour bus for 2 months. Wish we could get a break from this drought though, because the thirst is real.

I'm happy with it too! (even if I had a nightmare that they took a month of vacation and went straight to Australia)
But oh my god do I need some content in DAPG, they are really lucky that the phandom can amuse itself or they would be fucked, I can imagine that casual viewers (esp of DAPG) must be really confused.

I feel the same way. This level of openness is making me so happy for him. He's come so far!

Hey everyone it's my first time posting! :D I've been lurking for a while but I have always been to scared to post haha. Anyway I just wanted to say that Dan's comment about the models did make me excited, I'm glad he's being more open about these things. Do you any of you's think he will ever say what his sexuality is again? I feel like maybe after a while in a liveshow he will just say something so quickly/calmly about it and move on and not make a big deal out of it.

Welcome to the forum!! I'm glad you decided to stop lurking and join in!

I personally think he's content with not hiding his sexuality but not making it a focal point of anything he does, either. Liveshows seem like the most likely candidate for him pushing his own boundaries, though.

That's the most likely possibility if he still labels his sexuality but it's possible he doesn't identify with any labels these days.

since a tweet about cute boys is dans idea of "content", no gaming video or ls tonight i am afraid. and Phil hasnt warn us about any videos yet :( .. i can go to sleep now

i hope the BBC will fire them, younow should sue their asses for breaking their contracts and youtube can do another clean up so i wake up to them losing at least 1.000.000 subs from each of their channels :x

Welcome! I haven't posted in while either, but I'm going to try to start again.

Personally, I think it's unlikely that he or Phil will actually put a label on their sexualities any time soon. They may do it if they eventually announce a relationship, if they feel it's necessary to clarify "I'm bi not gay", but for now I think they'd prefer not to label.

If Dan was to say casually in a liveshow or a tweet "I'm bi" (or any other label) it would be an event for in the youtube community. The liveshow clip or the tweet screencap would be circulated more widely than the phandom. There would be a TenEighty article, at the very least. If We Are Unicorns covered the bottom tweet incident, do you think they'd ignore an explicit coming out? I don't think Dan wants that kind of attention*. I don't think he wants to be an LGBT+ youtuber. I think he wants to not be in the closet. I think his goal is to hint about is sexuality until everyone who cares to notice knows he's not straight, but nobody can point to any specific piece of "evidence" and claim to know his sexuality.
And when you're not scared any more, hinting can be pretty fun ;)

*
His main tweet wasn't about male attraction. His main tweet was relatable insecurity about body standards. He's not hinting about male attraction to 3.1M twitter followers, he's hinting to whatever fraction of those bother to do another few clicks to read his replies. Apart from CrunchyRoll spon, which some have managed to dismiss as phanservice, he confines his hinting to only the most invested members of his audience, those who watch his liveshows and read his twitter replies. It's selective honesty, focusing on the fraction of his audience who care most.

ot: when he tweets something like I think is he trying to be relatable and funny or is he really self conscious?? I hope he's not haha anyways there's a good thread name  Dan & Phil Part 18: disgustingly and frankly inappropriately cute.
