That's too real, oh god. It's like someone said a few weeks ago, they're just not that into us :wahh:

I let myself hope for a ls today, so this was a reminder to never hope.

It frightens me that some people doubt the return of regular liveshows. Liveshows have kept me on the hook in the absence of good dinof videos. What will i do if they are a thing of the past? *sighs melodramatically*
Bolded part, yep, that was me and you took the words right back out of my mouth! Gets high school flashback,--thinks about passively aggressively not watching their live show, should there ever be another one, or un-subscribing (yeah, like THAT would ever happen)

I'm not quite to the "what if live shows are a thing of the past?" stage. Right now I'm more in the "oh god, I'm going to resort to reading fan fic if this goes on much longer" stage.

I'm not sure which one is scarier. At least on IDB we have each other.

Right? I like finding those accidental model moments for Phil... and there needs to be more

I'm #teamblackhair too but If we're talking new hairstyles I actually liked his circa-2012 hair, which was a little bit longer than now but not the early days bucket hair. (gif credit)

Image
His hair is nice in that gif when his fringe falls across his face instead of being tucked in one corner. I think messier hair or his fringe swept off his face altogether would suit him better than having such a rigid fringe that does not suit his face shape. I remember my mother remarking that his hair looked too artificial and I have to agree, at the moment his hair is so flat it looks a bit like a lego hair piece

Oh dear, that manip of Phil with brown hair is way too weird and looks way too much like Dan. They're already almost the same person, but this is another level.

Uuuuugh, I'm so thirsty for a live show that's unbelievable. I really hope we get one soon or else I'll just mindlessly watch old ones on youtube I guess
I miss the /regular/content we used to have so much. Please guys make it come back.

Same (it'll be the third round for most of them but sometimes I just want to hear their voices, I need a detox).

Well at least we'll always have the memories... no, what am I saying? They'll be back, they just need to get into it again. I didn't actually mean I fear it's a thing of the past, sorry for promoting pessimism! I was just projecting, like if you have a dear friend who neglects you for a while so next time you see them you'll be like "oh, didn't know you'd be here", but on the inside like "yes, you're back, you're BACK!! " Let's hope for Sunday.

I'm stealing this speculation from somebody on twitter who may have been joking, but what if they're ignoring their liveshows because they're busy settling into a new place? And they're not yet up for dealing with the shitstorm of explaining their new... video backgrounds. Maybe Phil's new video will be an apartment tour and that'll be the last word on the subject.

Hasn't it been established-ish that their lease renewal is probably in July or thereabouts? Didn't Dan skip his last liveshow before starting the tour even though he was still at the flat? Maybe because he was packing for more than just the tour...
And Martyn flying back and forth so much during the tour; was that really just for work-related things, or could he have been acting as a helpful brother and overseeing his little bro's shit getting moved to a new place? "Watering the plants" my ass. No 'so happy to be home' selfies, no houseplant pic updates, nada.
(Phil's jet-lag selfie could be anywhere, white walls aren't exclusive to his room)

The last we saw of their flat as we know it from either of them was early April with the liveshows and Dan's anime vid. Since then it's been pre-filmed stuff and hotel rooms.

THEY MOVED

I'm not even sure if I'm joking, I've kind of talked myself into believing this I'm so bored.

Also Phil got that poem generator off of Bryony who tweeted hers like two hours earlier than him, so lol.

I don't know, where's the BBC? I'll just pretend they were at a meeting to discuss their R1 return in September and then got some dinner and then went back to unpacking their new place, wherever it may be. They're giving me nothing, so I'm just going to make up shit to pass the time. Phil's already broken 3 plates even though the moving box was marked 'FRAGILE, SERIOUSLY PHIL I STG'. At least, that's probably what it said, who can tell with Dan's chickenscratch.

I love everything about this and your theory and have chosen to believe it as well. You're providing an oasis in this content desert.

Phil will leave a cacti or two on any given surface in the wave of unpacking. One left on a kitchen chair will result in a bad time for Dan-who-just-wanted-a-break-after-building-that-Ikea-night-stand.

Let's be realistic, I'd say they just didn't do a liveshow because they want a break not to dissuade you from the conspiracy theories . I know we are in the middle of a content drought but they just got back from a huge tour and are only now just home. I'm not going to hold it against them if they don't want to do them

they obvs packed everything themselves, like they would let any hired person touch their personal stuff. I say they are sitting down in the middle of their new living room stressed out bc they packed all their nerdy stuff (figurines, fan presents, books, games etc) in the same boxes and are debating what used to go in what room so that we don't notice they mixed it all up.

Are we sure they are actually moving together though? What if only one of them is moving and the other is staying at the flat? What if Phil is the one moving and Dan is staying?
Nah, they both don't seem like the wanna move away from eachother anytime soon. That's clearly obvious... Or is it?!
Ok all jokes and theories aside, realistically, I'm pretty sure them moving won't happen till after all this tour stuff is 100% over. And they just haven't expressed much interest in moving this year. Dan and Phil are just probably wiped out from touring for two months and jetlagged as hell. They'll probably get back into the swing of things sometime before Sunday. That's what I'm hopping for at the very least.

I don't think they are moving out yet. After all, they bought new furniture and hanged pictures on the wall before going on tour. What I'm a bit worried about is the lack of liveshows, I have a feeling they might stop doing them regularly (as in, weekly). How many big youtubers do liveshows as frequently as Dan and Phil (used to) do them? I hope I'm wrong, though, it would be a very bad move. Liveshows are what keeps the phandom engaged (and by that, I mean the obsessive fans like us, who watch their videos twice or three times even if they are not that good).

I wasn't expecting or really wanting a liveshow right now - I'd rather they be fully recovered so we can get a decent run down of the tour, but if there isn't one by/on Sunday then I think it will be more telling about the future of their younows.
(Also If they are gonna stop doing regular liveshows then I would like to know their logic, I mean it's one hour of work p/week and all they have to do is talk, i don't know why anyone would not do that for the $$$).

Really like the speculation of them moving, but half expecting either Dan or Phil to tweet a photo or something soon to ruin the fun (that is, if they truly do lurk)...

They were nowhere near the BBC unfortunately. They were by Hyde Park, maybe they went there for a meeting about the tour and went for a business dinner. There are a lot of restaurants near there. There are also a few embassies in that area so maybe they were sorting out the next leg of the tour.

Agree with all of this. I don't think they'll be moving this year at least. When they started hanging photos on the walls and bought those new cupboards for the front room/Phils room the whole thing about moving just seemed so unrealistic for me. Plus with a tour that's still ongoing there's no way they'd have the added stress of moving, trust me moving is hell.
I also thought the same about the liveshows, especially as it seemed Phil got kinda bored with them before they left.

I agree with all of this as well. At the back of my mind there's a nagging worry that they'll be phasing out liveshows in the near future. I really wonder what's in store for them after all the touring. A podcast? Another book? Who knows. I haven't forgotten that they did some voice acting wherein they were the main people for a whole episode.

I think part of the reason this worry about 'no more liveshows' came up was because they haven't done one in so long (I think generally broadcasters are supposed to do at least 1/month??? Don't quote me on that). But then I remember that D+P are some of younow's top---if not the top--broadcasters and younow states they make exceptions for exceptional talents so they probably made some deal before going on tour. At least I hope they did. I don't want to believe they intentionally broke a contract as an excuse to stop doing liveshows.

The 1/month thing was never confirmed. The younow guidelines are:
To qualify as a YouNow Partner, we look for:

Average concurrent viewership of 450+ (not just a one-time peak).

Regular broadcasts of at least 2 times a week.

Content that conforms to our Terms of Service and DMCA Guidelines
But they make exceptions for outstanding talent. What the terms for those talents are, nobody knows. Some people on the old forum started to think it's 1/month, because that's the longest they went without a ls, at the time.
Personally i don't think they have a limit at all. Considering they easily have the biggest audience on younow, younow would be stupid to let them go.
I hope deppy realize how important liveshows are for them. In the absence of good regular content, this is what keeps me their most enganged audience happy.

I obviously want some content like many of you, but *unpopular opinion* the lack of liveshows somehow makes me like more? I feel warmer towards them as people, when I forget how they are when facing their audience live in a ls, and I love self-deceit haha. As much as I'm nosey and like analysing things they say, I found Dan very annoying in his latest ls and Phil's ls were uplifting but he looked like he wanted to finish the show asap. Joint ls would be good, but only for the tbh.

Personally I miss gaming videos (and radio) most. Tour DITL probably won’t happen until they have to promote their doc as somebody guessed in the previous threads. :(

I agree that they probably won't be moving in the nearest future considering unfinished tour and new things they bought recenty for the flat (also they learnt their lesson to never move in the summer). Buying their current flat is more likely imo.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one whose tin hat has been tingling. I mean, logically, they'd be idiots to move in the middle of an international tour, but... They're occasionally idiots. So.

Also: this felt odd to me. the questions is 'london apartment' and he responds with 'house' and yeah, I know they call it a house, but it's... as a response, it feels almost like a correction

I'mma take that one step further and say they've already been using it as a studio and have lived in a house for a year or two all along That old bed of Dan's was def not broken. Just waiting to be moved.

But really, I don't think they're moving right now. Like, being away for a couple months, then coming home to a brand new house rather than the flat they're comfortable in? That really doesn't seem like something they'd personally feel good about. But there is a suspicious lack of Phil's normal flat inspection announcement...

Wow they r being so boring. I went through felucca's 'mentions of D+P' playlist and the most interesting thing I found was in a live stream that Chris did at vidcon. When asked who his favorite broadcasters on younow are, he responds, '...danisnotonfire... i guess'. I just found that interesting and funny. I find it interesting that other people who aren't in the phandom find Dan's live streams entertaining. I also found Chris' reluctance to call Dan his favorite amusing. Its like, yeah, Dan can be an inconsistent younower, I agree.
