you all wondering if filmed more collabs? of course not. why would they? they are not exactly famous for their collaborations with other youtubers. Its always louise-cat-tyler(they almost force a collab/year, aww friendship ), pj (so rare it makes me sad) and boring react videos. Phils collab fest right before the tour was an exception not the norm.

Phils collab requirements:
1. are you his friend? how long do you know him?(cat, meghan, pj, hazel)
2. just pass by his house and ask nicely(connor, caspar)
3. exposure is appreciated
Dans collab requirements:
1. how many subs do you have? 4-5mil at least for him to consider it(subs, precious subs)
2. phil/friends make him do it (cat, louise)
3. from 1-100 (>80 is a pass, tomska a winner with 100) how scripted your collab is going to be? dan doesnt do real dan.
LurkingTrash wrote: I'm guessing Ro management set it up, she does a lot of collabs based on what people ask her to in the comments, I guess her management keeps an eye on it and contacts the right people
exactly. same with the fine bros. they asked them and they agreed. why did they agree?
-specific concept. scripted enviroment. Noone will say sth that should not be said. they can act like the robots they are without the fear of someone asking sth personal. its the heaven.
-also the exposure to a bigger audience like the fine bros is always nice and please look how much the kids love rosanna, d&p channels are in for a treat
teamug wrote:I think D+P know the cost of not making videos. Their checks from google have probably shrunk and if money isn't a motivator to get their butts in front of a camera, then perhaps they really aren't that interested, or have something else (that pays) going on.
D&P knows their profits from youtubered, the book, the tour and a dedicated audience(who will not rest until they know actually fuck each other :butt: ) better. Who care about plain simple yt videos

their last tatinof show was on the 23 of june :clapping: . poor tired babies need to get some rest. boo hoo

some days i feel like i am not spiteful enough for this place

Hey there, I don't have much more to say because some stuff in here is just because we have different views/opinions but I didn't want to just not reply anymore so here I am:
trashqueen wrote: btw, something i really admire from their videos is how genuinely funny they are, that's coming from me, a person who has never made a joke in her life, so yeah there's that, but their video quality is nothing especial imo

"putting about 2 videos out a day where you turn on a camera, scream a bit and put it online"
.......and how's that different to what they do on dapg?
oh right because they put out two of those videos a month
also not every gamer is offensive we're not living in 2013 no more
I do think that what they do in DAPG is different for some reasons but it's a matter of opinions so
But yeah, you're right, not every gamer is offensive I just don't watch many of them and I was a bit wrong to generalize my sentence, the main thing I wanted to express when talking about other gamers is that I much prefer their quality (like gaming choices and etc - also a matter of opinion here) than quantity.
trashqueen wrote:"They have really engaging personalities"
agree, and they owe a huge part of their relevancy to that (and well, oversharing in social media in 2009)

"That bit especially irks me, they have skills and that's for sure, the phandom might attract the eyes of a lot of companies but no way a place like bbc would employ them if they didn't have work ethic and skills"
you need work ethics and skills to get any job in this world, there's a shit ton of people that know enough to host a radio show, and there's a shit ton that know more than them, the reason they have one and other people don't is because they have an audience, the reason they get any of the opportunities they get is because they have an audience, if they use the opportunity that gives them to make connections in the industry (and i'm sure they did, they are smart boys) they could probably deal with loosing their crazy obsessive fanbase and just become normal radio hosts, but the only reason they got there on the first place was their audience, i talked about the radio show, but this applies to everything else

i'm not saying they are awful at their jobs, but they are very very comfortable in their position on youtube and put a lot less effort towards that part of their career than the average youtuber (who btw usually also has side projects and brand deals and stuff to deal with, they are not special snowflakes), and i think that's a huge mistake
Here I agree with you 100% , they do have an advantage over people with skills same or slightly better than them because of their fandom (and that's why they get that opportunity) but they only manage to keep it all going because they they do have skills and at least work into obtaining them. Agreed that they are way too comfortable with their positions/put less effort right now compared to the average youtuber.
trashqueen wrote:that's especially frustrating when you realize that what most people are angry about isn't the lack of oh so difficult to produce youtube videos but the fucking just-sit-and-waffle-for-an-hour-for-money liveshows
yes, that also makes me very angry, my view is more directed to: they could be so much more famous/rich/powerful if they put on more effort (not only live shows), the phandom really isn't asking for much.
trashqueen wrote:so yeah tl,dr: (imo) they are lazy youtubers with average content that somehow manage to have one of the biggest audiences bc they have engaging personalities and some of us really want to know if they're fucking or nah
uhhh, idk if you meant this to come out as aggressive as it did but no, I could start listing the reasons I love them and support/follow them more than any youtuber and these are not the only ones, I was attracted into following their content more closely both by the mystery of phan and their engaging personalities but I wouldn't have stayed for so long and actually admired so many things about them if it wasn't for a whole other list of other things and I know that there's a lot of people who agree with me because I've discussed in length about why we like them so much more than any other youtuber with quite a few people before. So, not great to generalize here.
trashqueen wrote:and i admire them for having that system work for them but i'm interested to see how long they can keep it up
I think so too but for my personal experience I would trade the word "interested" for "worried". At the end of the day I only occupy so much of my spare time in this forum, on twitter and looking up things about/of them because I really like them both and I wish good things for them, if I felt otherwise I wouldn't bother to do any of these.

Using other creators as examples:

Tyler Oakley not too long ago released a book, went on a 21 day tour, filmed Amazing Race for a month (which required him to turn in all electronics and avoid the internet the entire time), and threw a premiere for his movie which was launched right after his return... and after all that, there was only a 2 month gap in his videos.

And I have a feeling that if we want to know what Deppy will be like on Nerdy Nummies, we can get a general idea from this:
(I'm sorry for subjecting you to Ro and her chuckle-fuck fest. God I can't stand her. I'm making the salt to rim all your margaritas right now)

LurkingTrash nah, i didn't mean it to come out as particularly aggressive or generalizing, that's why i said imo

also i swear i like them too lol but i know that the reason i do is bc i connect with their personalities not because i think their (recent) content is above average good

Am I the only one that really misses fetus ? They were so real and open with us in their old videos it felt much cozier. I wonder if they have a collection of old videos that they never released to the internet? and never will

I was excited for D&P collab with a food youtuber but my god is she annoying. I can't stand her voice. Plus I feel like I can't actually learn how to cook/make the item from her because she moves too fast and it's more about the weird little movements/nerdiness so meh not for me.

Maybe D&P will make it worthwhile.

Pointless post from me, but there was something about reading these old tweets next to their current profile pictures that felt so... jarring. I nearly had to cover their pictures so I could properly imagine their 2009 selves saying these, because my mind kept trying to default to their current selves tweeting these things and it felt so weird.

(Or maybe it's 4 in the morning and I need sleep. Maybe both?)

I also love how they just wrote 'the outfit' but everyone knows what they're talking about

also I'm gonna need to see Phil wear that illuminati shirt as often as he opts for his red checked shirt - he looks so good in black!

Bassoonage wrote:[offtopic]I realized a little bit ago that Dan never shows his nipples on camera. (inspired by him blurring his nipples in his most recent videos) He shows them in "5 Kinds of Drunk People" and I think that's it. Even in the Jamaica footage he hides them most of the time. Is he insecure about them? Does he wish he had a larger, more muscular chest? Or does he think it's gender equality to not show nipples? [/offtopic]
Ohhhh, I have always wanted this to be brought up, because I used to have a theory that Dan has a nubbin (the surprisingly common, teeny-tiny, third nipple). Why? Because, when shirtless, he'd always cross his arm over his chest the same way and, I can't pin-point it now, but I feel like one of his videos had him pulling up a blanket to reveal maltesers and it was there? There's also a video somewhere where he states "I don't have a third nipple" with a defensive undertone (that I probably imagined).

In any case, the theory was developed on a night where I was especially bored and feeling silly. I think I eventually concluded that it was just a mole. However, given the circumstances of recent nipple-blurring, perhaps that's not the case.

As for the discussion being had outside of this, I agree with those who are saying D&P are skating by with sub-part content and posting. I've said it a billion times, but the US tour was the nail in the coffin for me. An opportunity to really put out unique, interesting videos/tweets/posts that really wouldn't have needed any work at all - their forte - and they still didn't do shit. I'm honestly just here because I've fallen too far into the trashcan. I mean seriously I just wrote about Dan's non-existent 3rd nipple.
This is the kind of topic I can participate in without getting a headache
Surprisingly, Phil has also referenced this in his video Tour of My Brain

@1.43 "like the fact Dan actually has three..."
So I don't think the theory is too far fetched guys.
#thirdnippleconfirmed ?
Also I believe Phil also mentions "nubbin" in a DAPG video though I can't remember which one so I have no receipts. I never thought I would be publicly discussing the likelihood of Dan's nubbin, but here we are. EDIT: I quoted wrong the first time.

She's not as irritating as I thought she would be, from what everyone has said about her on here. Irritating enough to need that margarita though. I don't trust girls that try too hard to be ''cutesy,'' I just assume that they are suppressing their homicidal urges behind a fake sugary smile.

I had forgotten how attractive Anthony is. He got rid of the emo fringe and it has only made him look better, take notes Phil. :) And Ian. I stopped watching Smosh years ago and I think it's because I swapped out Ian and Anthony's old married couple dynamic for 's. Too bad Smosh's channel has gone downhill.

biatchqueen I agree both that Dan would be able to make a good ASMR video and that he never would because he couldn't take it seriously  His liveshows make me relaxed and sleepy and I always watch them before I sleep

[offtopic]maybe I'm over-analysing, but do you think there is anything subconscious behind Dan's choice of language in his 'disgustingly and innappropriately cute' comment - I mean both those words are kind of negative and he does have a history of 'no homoing'.[/offtopic]

[offtopic]I don't know whether this was ever discussed on GG but I was wondering what people thought/what was said about the first thirty seconds of this

I slept on this and think that Dan's negative language may stem from his disdain towards himself that he found the stereotypical muscly guy attractive rather than stemming from a place. Yes, this is the primary albeit pointless use I am making of my english literature qualifications at present, let me be.

He looks great though but also seriously this is all the content we get..? Come on boys! :sideeye: also are they travelling or just an old pic from the flight back to London?

It's a late post from when they flew home. Phil was wearing the California jumper in fan pictures at the airport.

Is it just me or does the picture look like they took it for themselves and posted it because we kept complaining there wasn't enough content? Usually Phil has exaggerated faces with bugging out eyes in his public pictures but this looks like a picture they took for their own amusement. Glad they shared. It's cute. Like bluebox-away said imagine them taking this picture.

You totally just summed up me here.

I think in an isolated bubble-world of my own making I could survive just fine with no content from them, only personal life insights, and still be happy - because them as people is the draw for me. But in the real world where other people have influence on my opinions, I end up leeching apathy from everyone else and desperately craving something new so everyone has something new to talk about and is happy with them. And I get a little bitter with them when they don't provide that.

Also I agree with basically your entire post, but I'll avoid quoting it to save on repetition.

In other news, I feel blessed to wake up to that Phil-picture-taken-by-Dan.

Yeaaah, this is definitely an old post from the flight but hey...what a sweet surprise first thing in the morning

Of course, he'd post it now as part of the grand build-up to the Return of Deppy to the Land of the Living and that ls he's totally doing on Sunday.

I admit, it's nice to see his whole face again Thank you, Daniel
