Yeah, that jarred with me too. Made me wonder whether he thinks of himself as a boy in everyday life, or just for YouTube-related purposes.

I loved the taxi story apart from that though, it really sounded like something I would do. (I was supposed to get on a train that was parked inside a ferry yesterday, didn't get there in time, had to get off the ferry and run to the train station that the train had just gone on to. Without going into too much detail … that was my "crossing the freeway" moment)

The driver also called Phil "son" according to the story, so perhaps the other man was significantly older than Phil? Like Phil saw him as being old enough to be his father? I also recall one of them (D or P) referring to themselves as "British boys" at some point not too long ago.

the ls was amazing. phil is the funniest, most interesting person in the world who runs after a car in crazy traffic, does candle hauls better than any guru on yt and braids his hair live for 20.000 people. i loved every second of his liveshow. i missed phil alone time

one little complain though, i wish he talked a more about pancakes. he literally mentioned food for 3 min and what a coincidence everyone tuned in right that second, but i wasnt satisfied with the food talk. i expected more

Oh Phil, you were really putting your guardian angel-bean to the test with that running into LAX traffic Had me on the edge of my seat with that narrative (both with the great storytelling and my inner motherly "boy, are you outta your frickin' mind??" instinct kicking in).

Oh and also, him and Dan keep saying that if they download Pokemon Go it'll interfere with their other apps - wrong. It doesn't interfere at all, they wanna just download it and get to level 8 like me (totally addicted to it).

I know it's working for people using the workaround right now in the UK, (aside from servers being horrendous, appaz!) but I'm on D&Ps "better safe than sorry" side for this. I don't trust apple or nintendo as far as I can throw 'em..

I noticed that too and I agree that it sounded quite peculiar. However, it isn't the first time Phil's done it. I think he has a habit of referring to himself as a "boy" when he's telling stories of how others supposedly perceive him. Sadly I can't back it up with any video evidence. I'm lazy, useless and my archiving skills are nonexistent, soz

It was a fun liveshow! A break did good to our relationship with Phil, I think.

What stood out to me was the way he said "don't look at me" at some point- it sounded just like Dan. Also lol-ed at the fact he called himself a boy again (as I wouldn't be sure that he was quoting the driver correctly).
The hair braiding though! The candles haul It was a really chilled evening, I liked it.

i usually don't like phil's LSs but that was a delight. he was so giggly and entertaining!
dan and phil having "pajama week" is adorable, as is the thought of them playing mario kart on the tv by his tourbus bed.

a couple interesting points to note: when he talked about his personality type and said "I'm not sure you can really put people in so many boxes and just say they're a thing when they're a thing" ...sounds like the suspicion that phil is pretty anti-label is correct...This comment lowkey reminds me of the gerard way tweet dan faved recently that said "I don't use labels for anything. Using labels only gives others the leverage needed to categorize you or use you as a political tool." It just seems to me the two of them share the same belief that categorizing, sorting, and labeling individuals is a moot point and not something they would be inclined to do to themselves.

I think I've heard Phil refer to himself as a "boy" a few times so it didn't really phase me. However, that opinion with the 'I'm not sure you can really put people in so many boxes' did catch my attention. He did say himself on formspring that--although he freely referred to himself as bi back then--he didn't really like labels.

As for the labels talk.. Well, given my results from that test he referenced came back with 5/6 different types, (same on two different websites!) e has my full support on that one, plus if he/tey don't want to label themselves (at least, not publically) - you do you (guys)

I don't find it that odd really. I am 32 and find it weird to call myself a "woman/lady", and I am married, with a career, and trying to have a kid for god sake. I don't mind my age or anything, it just seems unnatural, like my mom is a woman...I am not a girl though, I feel like there should be a middle ground word. Woman doesn't sound right for me to call myself that... too serious or descriptive or something. I expect others to call me a woman though. I am a complete hypocrite appaz. I can't really describe it, but I'm not knocking Phil for calling himself a boy, since he lives pretty much like a man-child (which he has called himself once, and made me laugh when he did so). (lost his parents in Florida mall vlog donno the name of it, and on mobile... sorry)

I still haven't seen the ls, just got in time to watch the last few minutes, I'm waiting for someone to upload it on yt because I hate younow but I read everyone's opinions and a few recaps and oh my god, running into the traffic? Jesus Christ Philip, do you know how many people would be devastated if anything were to happen to you? And I'm talking about broken bones and not anything more serious, for god's sake, I want to shake him, does he have any idea how many people would have anxiety attacks and the likes if we learn that he got hit by a car?

Quite enjoyed the ls, Phil was so bubbly and kept slipping out of his AmazingPhil-ness into actual human Phil. Maybe it's my speaking, but we got such a Dan-influenced-Phil in this ls, however after 3 months of literally being together 24/7 I suppose it was to be expected. I think he subconsciously mirrowed Dan's reactions especially when retelling stories.
I liked the 'armchair psycology' you did chloek88! Also agree about nervous energy making Phil more funny and spontaneous, fakelights.

Tell me more, Phil, tell me more of how in the moment of a stressful situation Dan quietly tries to find solutions while you freak out, tell me more of the way you two work in tandem. Pajama week and pancake cleanses and candle sniffing and hair braiding - cute cute cute.

That was lovely, he was so sparky and into it, his eyes were sparkly (partly just computer/light reflection ofc), as mentioned his skin was beautifully dewy, his hair was a little fluffy, all good. Loved the airport story, thank goodness the traffic was slow so he could both get to the car and not die or get arrested running into fast-moving traffic (if that's a thing, he said police were watching him in surprise). Even being early, they'd have been lucky to find the cab in time by calling the company if he hadn't caught the guy. Just imagining panicked sonic-Phil running is funny.

Him calling himself a boy, reminds me of one of the guys on my course last year who's the same age and said Phil looked young when I showed him a photo. Maybe it's a lot of men I meet seeming calmer, more reserved in their manliness or something, but Phil does seem younger in his enthusiasms sometimes too.

So happy they've got videos done already, though could have gladly waited if they hadn't got on it so fast. I hope they tell more tour stories somewhere since he said there were loads, I'm intrigued. Tour bus bouncing enough to sometimes throw them out of bed sounded hilarious.

I missed them so much and he actually did a full hour, he's a changed man boy! it was so fun as well, I feel like he generally had a lot to say other than the usual 'hi, hello, top fans' but I cannot believe that taxi story, he's actually insane. I'm more curious as to how the conversation went between them to decide that was a good idea? was that even a conversation or did he just run? 'I'll make a call don't worry' 'I'm gonna run' 'what? no I'm on the phone' 'I gotta run.' HOW? I hope Dans liveshow gives more insight because SERIOUSLY?
I loved the little candle haul, it felt so home-y and comforting, I find it especially cute that his mother sent him candles almost as if to welcome him home and make it feel like home again; such a cute family. I'm waffling but I seriously loved the liveshow im so glad he did it, it was just like catching up with an old friend you haven't seen in a while, a very one sided conversation but you know what I mean.
The only negative thing I'll touch on is I'm disappointed he didn't say anything about Brexit. I mean this is Phil so I wasn't really expecting it anyway but I would've loved if he could've even joked about it or something. maybe one day.
I'm really looking forward to the Dil video tbh I just want content. anyway I'll stop talking now

Thank fuck for that. Couldn't have come quicker. I joined 20 mins in cos only just then saw his tweet but as soon as it loaded I had an embarrassingly large grin on my face. I hadn't realised how much I missed liveshows. Well... I had, like over a month ago, but I'd forgotten.

He was great in this one too, which I guess is to be expected given how much he had to talk about, but still. I felt like he was quite Phil in this as opposed to AP. Here's hoping the upside of lack of video-making is he's forgotten how to be AP. I'd LOVE that. Gimme Phil Lester - I find him more entertaining, engaging, and I also wanna jump his bones even though I'm not remotely attracted to AP. Isn't it weird how differently you can react to the same person adopting different... 'personas' (yeah I said the P word, sue me).

Also that running into traffic and how he said he was very mentally prepared to come home sounds very much like he was kinda desperate to get home and totally done with touring for a while lol. Don't blame him in the slightest.

Anyway chaps I can't tell you how I've missed joining in here - I just couldn't bring myself to attempt to keep myself amused at a certain point of that tour, it was starting to grate on me bad style how little we were getting. Hopefully we can return to some semblance of normality for a while and talk new shit to death rather than old shit... at least most of the time, our own bingo board won't be going anywhere I'm sure (nor would I want it to)
