okay I don't know how to upload a photo on mobile but whoever it is, it's currently # 12 in the hip hop / rap charts on iTunes. which is precisely five spots under Kanye West

This whole Dan's diss track on iTunes thing seems to be getting weirder now. Because i guess the person who called iTunes support said that they said the audio source came from the same company that put out their Audiobook on iTunes. Which makes no sense, since audiobooks are put out by the book publishers, not the authors. Also it wasn't recorded in a studio, we have proof of that from that little clip showed on Dan's live show. Ether the person is lying, which is very possible, iTunes support misunderstood them and told them that the name falls under the same as the audiobook, or someone from their management put it out/someone lied about being their management. Or maybe it actually is him and we just don't want to believe it.
Ether way, I really hope Dan gets online soon and explains this. I personally really don't think it's him who posted it at all.

Two days ago he literally scoffed at the idea of listing his roast on itunes and and now we are supposed to believe his not only done so but put it up in the rap/hip hop genre with a picture that makes it look like it's a serious song?
Yeah I call bullshit. Coming off the year him and Phil have had he can't possibly need money that badly. I do not believe for half a second that was really Dan.

I wonder if he can make a complaint to itunes and what will happen if he does. Surely it can't be legal and they can't just let people profit off something that isn't their work?

well right now the same phandom are having a great time paying money for this crappy track and watching dan going up the charts. i bet, they will not even care if it turns out its actually dan milking them.

I actually just looked on iTunes and Dan is on fire is apparently connected to an album called "Get your boots laced papa!" By what looks like an old school jazz musician when you click on dans name, so I can only assume it's someone taking the piss and they're about to get done for attempting to profit off someone else's work

Even still, they said it's by the same source that put out the audiobook, but when you click on Dan's name under the diss track, the only thing that shows up is the diss track. The audiobook isn't even listed under it when it should be. This whole thing is confusing.

Where is Dan and why is he not clarifying this? Does he not care? He basically said in his ls that his roast is something that we should not take seriously. But someone else is profiting from his music (i cringed saying that) and that is serious. Or, Mr. Copywrite (Phil) is already working on this through his angry, passive-agressive professional emails? If Dan really did this,which I don't believe, I will be so mad at him. But hey, maybe this is the drama I signed up for

Number 12 That's impressive for something unannounced, not marketed and possibly not even uploaded by the real artist. I secretly hope this will make him consider releasing an actual album one day.

I won't be mad if it turns out it's Dan. As Winston says, there is something kind of epic about the idea of Dan waking up, yawning, stretching, suddenly feeling like becoming number 12 on itunes and conquering the music business with a joke track all before bedtime.

I love how high this shitty song is going but still for me it's a swindle so

If it was dan it would be glorious but the only way I could like it would be if all the money went to charity. What is dan doing? is not the phandom blowing up his phone?

Still this could give them the idea of putting out a song for the lols on youtube with a shitty video.

Agreed with grannypants, I don't care who legitimately or illegitimately put this up, it's hilarious and if phans want to spend a measly .79 or .99 for a laugh then who fucking cares. Why does everything have to be A Serious Thing oh my god laugh a little we're all going to fucking die.

If it turns out it isn't Dan, does the uploader get any consequences or anything? Would the money be returned?

If I were him, I would've waited for it to reach #1, had a few entertainment news blogs write a clickbaity article about how a random British YTer's joke single surpassed all these big rappers, and gotten that publicity.

But I mean like, he could've accomplished all that by releasing the single himself so... ugh, I guess it was good that he stopped it before anyone else spent their money so whatevs...

Also this whole thing becomes 10 times funnier if you imagine Joanne The Scammer was behind it all along.
