I don't agree with what just happened here. What's the limit? Regardless of how public or not such information is, it's not a matter of can you post it but should you and the answer is clearly you should not. If they were ok with us knowing how much they have in the bank they'd just talk about it. This is wrong and you all know it.

Those boys are making serious bank, and I'm weirdly proud of that.

Honestly I don't think it's bad. Although I'm pretty sure most of the phandom (at least) suspects that they are rich, there are still some people who think they are selling books and stuff because they really need the money. Not saying they are greedy sellouts just because they are already loaded but it's good to put things in perspective.danisnotonphil wrote:I don't agree with what just happened here. What's the limit? Seriously, though. Regardless of how you feel, this is public info. We've taken the liberty of excluding super personal information, so beyond that, you can't police what we discuss. I'm sorry, that's just how it is. You can disagree, but your attitude of "this is wrong because I say so" doesn't get you anywhere, really.
If you'd like to discuss something else.... discuss something else! It's as simple as that.

I feel the same. Even if it's not against the rules, it just feels wrong to me.
And we all know a lot of people are lurking, posting these things here draws attention to them. And when other people look for them and share them, they won't care if they link to their address or something...

If i said the site where you can get the information with their address and address of their accountant, then you have a right to be pissed. I didn't give any indication of how I got that information or their company number.danisnotonphil wrote:I don't agree with what just happened here. What's the limit? Like Ticia shows it is easy enough to Google and it comes up with figures like that. Anyone can do that for any company. You can do it for any Youtuber or person if they are a director of a limited company.

Whether the info is public you're posting it somewhere else than where it's supposed to be at, without their knowledge and without their permission. It didn't matter if you guys decided it was ok to post any of it, that is not info yours to decide anything about. It is wrong, this shouldn't have been posted at all and it shouldn't even had to be "discussed" in the first place. This is disrespectful but it seems respect means little when it comes to satisfying your curiosity about other people's personal details.
And before anyone suggests I leave or look away, I won't. While the thread is chill I'm gonna stay chill but when you cross a line I will point it out.

I'm pretty sure the address given on the financial records is the accountants office and not D&Ps personal address. So for those who are concerned people will find their address and spread it about I don't actually think it's listed anywhere on those records.
the info is posted on a public site so anyone can access it, make emphasis on anyone. That's why it doesn't have super private information such as their exact address, we all know they are loaded tho so nothing really new there.
The only thing I might be mildly interested in is how much tatinof makes but I also hope the whole thing is old news by the timw they have to file it

These are corporate financial details, not personal financial details. I understand that when it comes to Dan and Phil it might seem too personal since we consider them people not companies, but this information is still about their corporations - and corporate financial records are public and available to anyone.danisnotonphil wrote:Whether the info is public you're posting it somewhere else than where it's supposed to be at, without their knowledge and without their permission. You do you, but you can't decide for me what is crossing the line and what isn't, I'll decide that for myself. I find these kind of things interesting, so will discuss them, you are not going to stop that.danisnotonphil wrote:Whether the info is public you're posting it somewhere else than where it's supposed to be at, without their knowledge and without their permission. I'm really curious how much they have made from the tour, I bet it's quite a lot.

Well, the info will be public next year! And I'm sure it will be A LOT. Tour + books + documentaries. I can't even imagine a number.SquishPhan wrote:You do you, but you can't decide for me what is crossing the line and what isn't, I'll decide that for myself. Also, I don't really care how much they earn, I only want to know if they have a shared bank account. That's it.

While I get your point, you need to chill. It's not like someone posted their personal bank details. It's the financial statements from their private companies. And next time, you might have better luck if you didn't express your opinion in such an aggressive tonedanisnotonphil wrote:I don't agree with what just happened here. What's the limit? i agree with the person saying this wrong seeing as its illegal to post such documents without proper authority from the bank or the ppl in connection to said papers (im getting a law degree)anathema wrote:While I get your point, you need to chill.
