I didn’t get an angry vibe from the video at all. Dan has stated multiple times that he thought last year’s video was the funniest one he did all year. Also you can see him smile/almost break character a few times during the video. I think they genuinely liked making it.

There'll be super-slow-mo on tumblr somewhere already, with appropriate sappy music... you can bet on it.

Yes... they probably are - or at least making a joke of it (possibly for their own enjoyment). The point I was probably not so clearly making was that I doubt it will work though.

Hi, Long time lurker here coming out of the shadows to finally post.
I woke up to see the crafting video this morning and after watching it, I'm wondering if this was the video they said they made with Louise... Because in a live show a few weeks ago, Phil (or maybe it was Dan) said something about the video he filmed with Louise "made a mess all over his hands and involved his face". And in a tweet that was talking about the videos filmed that day she was over, Phil said he was covered in glitter for some reason. Now I'm probably way off with this and all of this could be a coincidence, but who knows. Just thought this would be an interesting thing to point out. Guess we'll have to wait and see if actual videos they filmed with her come out this month or if they've all been trolling us this whole time.

maybe that's the video they filmed with the flower tripod? or is that completely ridiculous?

the hand touching actually reminded me of little children playing with sand, like when they're trying to build sometihng but end just end up slapping each others hands because they can't coordinate their movements

The craft! Video was so unexpected and I absolutely fekkin love it. So much. Omg.

Last years was absolutely hilarious, this years is absolutely hilarious, I am sanning very hard right now.

Its such an adult swim type of video, right up my alley.

Also its something new! and fresh!, at least the style of the editing compared to their other content.

And even though I am more of Dan Stan, I think Phil absolutely killed it in this video. The way he pushed the hand on the paper repatetly in such a determined manner was just...

Alright...I am done, need to breathe. Thanks for listening

Idk but the thing on flower tripod was a microphone. This video was clearly filmed with the front camera of their phone.

Flower tripod video is the lesser known younger sister of the Vegas video.

I definitely think it was filmed on ether a phone or maybe a laptop camera? Seems a bit unlikely they'd use a separate mic for something that's supposed to be 'bad' quality.
Could the flower-mic-tripod have been for the iPad gaming video they filmed in the lounge when all the drilling was happening? :?

That's what I thought as well, that the vid with the mic in the 'flowers' was already out. this is a weird sentence
I think this one, like the previous one, was filmed on Phil's macbook. I think I remember Dan saying that once.

the tripod video has dan wearing that red checkered jumper and i doubt it's coming anytime soon :/ as always.

i'm on the fence about the crafts video. one thing, I liked that they kept up with it and amazing gold moments such as phil aggressively smacking the table & dan's hand and i LOL at when phil broke the gluestick.
but on the other hand, it was predicitable. they could have come with a new unexpected video or anything else. but i cant blame them i guess. they're getting busier with tour rehearsal and couldnt come up with another (better) idea?
majority of the phandom seems to love it, i guess that's good. but dear god, the return of the don't cry, craft meme

tho ngl when i first saw the title, i thought they were gonna stick glitter on their faces. now that would be interesting and funner imo. and also the rise of DanAndPhilBEAUTY

I was actually expecting the DanAndPhilBeauty channel this year. D&P why do you h8 me??? All I wanted was some makeup on Phil's cheekbones :sobs:

Anyway! This one was a little predictable and not as funny as last year. The squareflakes thing made me cry with laughter for months but this one made me think I was high. Or maybe it was because it was the first thing I watched after waking up lol On a second watch it is hilarious, though! Was not expecting the pentagram at all, so good job on summoning my laughter with that!

About the hand touching thing...

Yeah, I definitely took it as part of the joke. They even edited pointedly around it with the red screen and tilt effect.

I get a bit annoyed with all the "crafts" jokes too, they could've at least changed the saying a bit idk, but it doesn't bother me that much. They seem to have fun filming this videos and it shows. That's all I ask, really :D

the DAPG video just made me feel ugh, the first one was v funny but all the constant "don't cry, craft" etc comments and memes over the past year ruined it for me, let alone how scary phil is in both videos. so maybe i'm a huge killjoy now but i'd rather they just left the craft channel alone. that or start doing makeup tutorials.

For a moment I was even very concerned for them getting glitter in their eyes or something. And they definitely would, they're not exactly the most handy people around.

I think it's very Dan-like to take something people found funny, wait until people don't find it funny anymore, then shove it back in everyone's faces with a vengeance.

And I also do find Phil slightly creepy in the videos but in the best way possible. That is totally the weird-Phil creativity that people claim to want back breaking free. Despite the content seeming much brighter on the surface I can see a lot of similarities in his humor here and in older, stranger videos he did in his early days. It's like a peek at what that guy could have matured into, and yeah, it definitely falls under the 'not for everyone' category. (Which I could follow into a whole essay on the AmazingPhil persona and how people say they don't want it but I'm not sure they'd really want the real Phil either, but I'll save that armchair psych for another day.)

[offtopic]Would anyone be interested in a D&P Social Justice thread? They've (well, mostly Dan, but Phil too) have touched on some SJ topics like LGBT, women's rights, mentioned supporting Bernie Sanders, and on the previous "site that shall not be mentioned" we got into an SJ conversation but also had some objections to it.

We seem to have a lot of Myers Briggs "NF"s who tend to be interested in those things? What do you all think?[/offtopic]
YAAAAAAAS please. do it!!!!!! I want all the 0.5 sec clips of Dan talking about Bernie or UKIP!

Last year's was so funny and unexpected and great!!
This year it's like "Uggh, we did this thing everyone loved last year, now we have to do it again so they keep loving us". And that's not to say they didn't enjoy making this video, because I'm sure they did, but it just doesn't feel as natural and genuine as the original.
i think it being repetitive and kinda expected and annoying is actually part of the joke, like when Dan plays shrek on the radio show every single week for the 7sc.

Verdict on the video : I liked it. I too, thought they were gonna put glitter on their faces at 1st.
Also unpopular opinion but I am not hating the don't cry craft meme, I don't mind it and even find it funny sometimes, depending on the comments they are replying to.
If you’re attracted to somebody, you’ll want them to sniff you eventually - Dan
*Phil is turned on by Dan's brilliance* *they kiss* *they have sex in the microwave* - Oqua (actually Phil)

Yeah, can't say if Phil enjoyed it because he was staying in character thru the video, but we can see Dan struggling not to smile. I believe they had fun filming and editing this.
I loved that they stepped up on the creepiness scale this year. I hope 2017 craft video will include blood sacrifices
Also, collaborate to make friendship sounds funny to me for some reason. Is it a normal way of phrasing that i just never seen being used before?

I also legit thought that the glitter would go to their faces. I was super confused when they took out the paper, like "... but what's that for- oooh, right" and was slightly disappointed for a moment.

I've taken the tactic of avoiding the phandom in general, I never go to the comments section or step a foot in the twitter/tumblr part of it. I recommend it it to anyone, just sticking to IDB (and gg previosly) has saved from a lot of cringing and makes the whole D&P experience a lot nicer.

No, it's a really weird way to phrase that thought, which is why it's kind of funny, and adds to the robotic/stilted vibe they give.

It's sort of doesn't ring as grammatical to me, but I think it technically is.

I thought it was hilarious, I love that kind of deadpan humor and over the top awk especially when neither of them generally acts like that in their videos, it's a refreshing departure from their other personalities (I'm trying my best to not say the other "P" word today). I laughed loud and ugly at "everybody makes mistakes." PROTIP! is going to be the new thing we'll get sick of.

I agree that what made the first D&PCRAFTS video so funny was its unexpectedness. Making a sequel this year was a safe choice, but automatically going to be less funny (imho).
redelep wrote:tho ngl when i first saw the title, i thought they were gonna stick glitter on their faces. now that would be interesting and funner imo. and also the rise of DanAndPhilBEAUTY
Same!

That being said, I did really enjoy this year's video, even if something more original would have been funnier. I did like that Dan & Phil embraced the creepiness more this year. Agreed with you all that it seemed to channel some of the creepiness of Phil's early videos. I did find it hilarious that Dan seemed to be trying to make a "spooky" blood red pentagram... But it just looked blindingly neon orange on camera (at least to me). It's the Undertale red/orange dilemma all over again.

Even though I'm glad they made this video, because it was funny (and simply more content from them), I don't think I'm emotionally ready for the return of "don't cry, craft"...

I, too, thought they were gonna throw glitter all over their faces and was disappointed when they started drawing with the glue. I prayed that they'll pour the glitter on the paper, smear glue on their skin (yikes) and fall face forward on the sheets lol

So done with don't cry craft joke btw, it would be better if they just abruptly stopped talking and stared knowingly into the camera like WE KNOW WHAT YOU'RE EXPECTING BUT NOPE

dizzy pls share your amazingphil essays! I like the way you write him and it seems the essays will be really intresting

Is no one on this forum American? We have so many time differences, I was asleep and woke up with 6 new pages. The craft video was amazing! When I first saw the title I thought they were gonna smash the papers with glitter on their faces I really loved it and laughed aloud especially at the end when they sarcastically threw glitter up in te air in slow mo. I think that its nice that they kept up with tradition because that is essentially what D&P... are traditions. We see that with their rave Christmas tree and their Halloween baking, spooky week on gaming channel and PINOF. I think it keep the audience around longer because they wait for the next video. I am absolutely in love with Phil in this video, he had me in stitches. His face when hes unsheathing the glue had me dying! He would probably be an amazing poker player cuz he did not crack. I love how they always edit out when Dan gets overboard like when he kept repeating " everywhere". Phil looks like he wants to tell him he's taking it to far but doesn't want to ruin the video  It makes me laugh that this was all impromptu, their humors are actually quite dark, and I love it. Also Phil always looks like the strict teacher and Dan the student that has been yelled at (not the kinky way) it is the complete opposite of what the phan bantz always go. Who plans the crafts? I think its Dad Phil he looks like the type who would take the kids on a crafting adventure while Dan gives them waffly advice on life. Also I wonder how salty the other youtubers are to them. They seem to have really separated themselves from the gleamers who I see as people who wouldn't appreciate Dan and Phil dark sarcastic humour. I feels like Pewds and tomaska fit their humour more. I want to hear the other youtubers (not you Evan no offense) react to these vids, especially since their comments will be filled with protip and dont cry craft
