Scene: Dan Howell and Phil Lester are sitting in the lounge. They are quiet for the most part, but occasionally each will twist their heads to tell the other about something funny they just saw, or to articulate some errant thought about the documentary they've been working on. After a quiet period Dan turns away from his laptop to face Phil.

He read out a funny tweet. They laughed. Dan liked it. Phil liked it. They carried on with their domestic married life.
I feel assaulted and violated by the levels of cute in this imagery.

It was a personal attack for your earlier post about Phil making a video to document what he has to put with

This is basically every night of my married life. It must suck to have your every move that you make online tracked though lol. I wonder how many things they want to like or rt or whatever and don't because it would look bad.

So we're definitely in for some non-spoilery AHS opinions. I'll be curious to see how much either of them knows about Roanoke, or if they avoided googling to stay away from spoilers.

(How did this not get posted? I know it's not that exciting, but it is still a Phil tweet.)

Here we have the rare specimen Scarce giving Onision even more attention and overexaggerating the situation.

Fixed it for you. :) Just take out the s in https, put the whole link in a youtube code (use the button) and make sure there's nothing after the video code itself.

Dan was not mean, and Onision is nothing short of ridiculous. There's no need for other youtubers to weigh in; it's none of their business.

My favorite things about this video:
  • Dan and Phil being on a drama channel.
  • Phil somehow being involved in the title despite having nothing to do with the situation. ;^)
  • People in the comments are more concerned about Dan's Haru pillow than what he said about Onision.
This couldn't have gone any better. Pure poetry.

What I find amusing about this the fact he used the actual clip where Dan literally says he doesn't like people using them for views, and he's doing the exact thing Dan's talking about. Nothing clicks with these people, does it?

Though, this is bring in Youtube publicity for him and Phil, even if Dan and Phil don't want it. and unfortunately onion is getting the attention he wants as well ugh. I haven't really heard of this channel, but people love their YouTube drama and from what I can see, this channel brings in at least 1 mil views per video everyday. With all their Youtube red stuff coming in a few weeks, regardless of your views on drama or onion, this will still cause some sort of buzz around Dan and Phil (even though Phil is necessarily involved) in the YouTube community before the actual press release of the ytr stuff.
Which is kinda why this whole onion drama makes me a bit , even though I know onions past actions and what not with drama. Maybe it's just the media cynic in me believing it might be a bit since drama things like this always seems to happen to a star of a movie right before a movie release or something. I'm in no way saying Dan and Phil would want this or are even the ones who would've planned this because we know they do not like drama. But to me the fact that this is all happening just weeks before has me a bit :?...

I can't help but feel extremely annoyed, though. The comments about Dan's body pillow are actually what frustrate me the most. Some of my personal favorites V

Unfortunately this attitude doesn't even surprise me, it just makes me feel very sad. Sometimes I forget what it's like on the internet outside 'safe spaces' like the phandom, but the bigotry of the YouTube comments section is always a rude awakening.

The one good news in that video is that Onision has announced he is 'no longer a fan', here's to hoping he shuts up about Dan so the whole thing can blow over already.

For me personally, I don't think this could have been in any way 'engineered' for popularity by YouTube or Dan and Phil. Like, no way. Onision's just the kind of person who would do these things of his own accord without seeing a problem in his behaviour, as hard as that may be to believe.

People in the comments defending Dan's haru pillow think he got it for the crunchyroll add as a joke

Oh... do your reasearch, he had that pillow almost 1 year before that.

Ugh, closed-minded comments about a fellow man's taste in pillows

I hope the drama winds down or is otherwise blasted out of the water by the hype of trailers or whatever they've got planned for Tatinof and the Documentary on YTRed. I feel only sadness for them being given attention by a wider audience via those cretins with this all coming up, rather than just for what they've been working for.

Re: mean comments from people

I was actually thinking about this earlier this week. So far the only people that have seen tatinof have been fans, or parents of fans. No one that would really bash it horribly. I am going to physically force myself not to read the comments under the videos when they come out because I know there will be haters and it will just make me sad.

Not sure if Dan made it an offhand remark without thinking of the implications of his wording or deliberately made his tweet suggestive to troll or make people confused or uncomfortable by his insinuation (?)
Yeah I thought the same and that bit is so shoe-horned it had to be a deliberate euphemism. What is with them recently?? Its like they want us to think they're fucking?? Does anyone else feel like that???
He was probably saying it is still hot and sticky even after the sun set.

Is the onion collab with Phil real? I saw it and it looks like a spoof one where he's cut up an old video and put his responses to it?

The video was annoying to watch, knowing that Dan's comment was taken out of context and no background given on why Onion-boy deserved to be roasted. Funny enough most of the comments don't care as nobody likes Onion anyway, everybody is questioning the Haru-pillow which most people don't see often except the anime video and Dan's liveshows, you kind of forget its weeaboo connotation  I don't understand why Phil was pulled into this other than the fact him and Dan are always associated together, I guess he kind of regrets doing that collab with Onion now?

This is exactly what I've been thinking a long time but didn't want to bring it up. Would deppy's liveshow be as successful when random people see it without knowing any of the in-jokes or does it translate well for somebody going in blind?

As nobody has mentioned it yet, I'll post it for what it's worth - Dan also replied to a youtube comment on his new video yesterday at around 10:30 am (UK time), I thought it was such a rare thing for him to do and I should share it.

Image

Sorry for Russian words, basically it says he replied 4 minutes ago to the comment that was made 3 hours ago (but you probably were able to figure it out, sorry for me being a nerd), which means he was going through the comments as I was watching the video - wow nice timing. I guess now it's buried under tons of other comments so whatever.

I loved the new video, my only complaint about it was that it made my eyes hurt as if I was the one who sprayed the goddamn deodorant in them, which kinda made it hard for me to laugh at the situation. And I felt as bad for Phil as I did for Dan! But Phil couldn't be mad at Dan for too long, 'cause he's not that perfect either and is the type of person who forgets their stuff in a taxi. :)
