The video was alright. The game wasn't very interesting but D&P were entertaining. Also maybe I'm making something out of nothing, but 9:00 struck me as interesting. Dan says "No stop zooming! I can't control it" and it seemed very natural (and whiny) to me. He didn't say it with his normal DINOF "Phil you flop/loser/dumb-ass/etc." tone of voice, it was refreshing

I interpreted that tweet to mean "you think we're posting a lot of videos now? Just wait until October hits" (as in they will be posting a lot in October lol). Most likely in reference to spooky week where they'll post consecutive videos throughout one week.

About the October shitstorm - I just want to know what Stand up to cancer has planned for them. We know what practically every other youtuber is doing for them, but not a word about DnP yet!! Its annoying me. Are they holding it until tatinof so there is more press and maybe more donations?

Was there really a dog outside? How the hell did it's noise reach the office? Isn't the office on the 3rd floor? Even if there was a dog they couldn't see it unless it was floating.

I think wind just works in a weird way. I have a friend who I frequently visit who lives up high (4th floor uk/ 5th floor us) and whenever there are sounds like people talking loudly or dog barking downstairs on the pavements, I can hear it clearly from her house, so I really think they can hear the dog.

a) immediately let's the audience know who he's talking about - they may not know Mrs. Lester's name is Katherine. I didn't remember this and I probably know more than the casual viewer I just remember her as the lobster hand lady

b) I think it just sounds funnier to say 'What's wrong with Mrs. Lester' compared to saying 'What's wrong with Katherine'

Awkwardly chipping in after a good two weeks of being awol because life and stuff, just to say that I'm in the same boat as mez and bluewho. I would only call a parent Mr/Mrs last-name maybe the first time I met them? and if it was a good friends' parent like in D&Ps situation I'd go with first name. Anyone I don't know that well would fall solidly in 'I'll just awkwardly not use your name okay cool'

I am far too easily amused, because I have a giant smile from D&PG new video. Also I LOVED the Wrestling video, I honestly was crying with laughter (thankfully my son isn't home rn or i'd have woken him up) - 360Sean just gained a new subscriber.
I KNOW (logically) Dan was probably just trying not to say some snake-based pun but my ShipperHeart is telling me he meant to say sexy eyes BECAUSE Phil was doing what I would describe as "sexy eyes" and how could Dan resist Mr. LoveEyes himself.

I thought the first half of the video was on point with the jokes, editing and tone but then kind of lost itself when deppy were stringing together effort to be entertaining while trying to play a game they did not like that much. Even Dan said he hated the game and there's after all little accomplishment or reward in playing a frustrating game like this.

I think this is just Dan saying people's name respectively and for the benefit of the audience to understand who Mrs, Lester is, to suddenly switch to "Katherine" would be hard to follow for casual fans. As always, everything is a bit detached and coming from an entertainment purpose. In the radio video you can see Dan naming Mrs. Lester by her first name so, if the tradition follows suit with Mr. Lester too, it can be presumed that Dan is on a first name basis with the Lesters.

Some people see Phan. Some people see Phanservice. I see awkward wording and bantz with not much substance lol but I love that they left it in

I don't really care too much anymore. I really really liked the video, too. It was just them playing a game (and failing, which is very #relatable to me) and it felt refreshingly normal, I really don't need any line they utter to be an innuendo or joke or cute moment or something. Sometimes I fear that they start to feel the need to top their previous videos in regards to the amount of entertaining moments with every new one they put out which would inevitably lead to them feeling forced, and I really don't want that to happen, so I appreciate more laid-back vids like this one.

Plus, I'm someone who could play snake for hours on ye olde nokia back in the days, so I think slitherio is entertaining enough

I mean, both of them have been in a little slump these past weeks, but their subscriber gain was always the same ratio compared to each other, so Dan gaining less than Phil since the teaser stood out to me.

I could have understood if people unsubscribed during the tatinof-induced content drought, but now? just don't watch it/buy it then. That's interesting. Not really surprising though. I think you won't really notice if a YouTuber you casually watch doesn't upload much because you don't care enough. But if suddenly a #spon video pops up in your subscription box and you don't follow them on their social media accounts and/or watch their liveshows, you might believe that they're sellouts. A casual viewer doesn't see the hard work behind everything. They just see the announcements and draw their conclusion based on them. And since they aren't personally attached to them, they don't even care to think about it any further. I personally don't follow many YouTubers on social media and therefore I only judge them based on what they upload. If I dislike it, I'll unsubscribe without trying to look for a reasonable explanation.
However, I don't think it really matters because the views will probably stay the same. Subscribers aren't really important. The views and ads are the things that give YouTubers money and they show if people actively watch their videos. A bit strange to think about it, but a lot of Dan and Phil's subscribers are probably dead or don't log into their accounts anymore. Obviously, they don't give them any views. As long as the views don't drop, everything is fine.

I lot of people really hate Ytr and say that they are selling out.
The same happened with Felix and MatPat. All their comments on the previews for their Ytr series are about how they are selling out.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Some people hate that they will have to pay to see it (even though most fans have paid to see tatinof in real life anyway)
