updatedphan are 3 chill people who aren't into dumb drama or spreading harmful rumours, those attention-seekers just dragged that name into things to appear more legit and take advantage of somebody trying to be kind. These people don't deserve the benefit of the doubt based on past actions and continued shit-stirring. What they consider to be valuable sources is laughable and I hope they go away now that they've dropped their tween-drama-inspired retelling of info and a timeline everybody already has. Or people realize paying them any attention is a waste of everybody's time. Obviously what they really want to do is write fanfiction, as that's all they've done here. I just find it all very embarrassing for them.

Agree. And given that IDB is not exactly unknown, I wouldn't be surprised at all for them or their friends to create accounts here trying to get people to visit their blog.

The Phil being a fuckboy thing made me laugh and reminded me of that one rumor that Phil was such a C R A Z E H extreme party animal in uni. Made it sounds like he was snorting crack cocaine of a sorority girl's back or something, but he just went to some regular uni parties. SCANDALOUS.

My favorite part was '2012' because it reads like bad angsty fanfic like 'If you leave me, I'll kill myself' lmao BYE . But most importantly the timeline is all fucked up and the radio thing is incorrect like holy shit if you're gonna try to troll some people at least put some effort into it. If even my fried and sleep deprived brain can debunk it without even trying, you should go back to the drawing board and try harder.

Nah, actually the mods behind updatedphan and the charlie fans are Internet friends, and do love their own share of drama (from their personal accounts, thankfully). Their source for those particular rumors might have been updatedphan --but to me that doesn't make it more believable.

Hi lishachi! Welcome out of lurking into the abyss which is I'm an older fan (phan) as well and have enjoyed being a part of this community. There's a wide range of ages and opinions, and I've always been impressed by what a positive place IDB is.

That's not to say everyone's always happy or that everyone agrees about deppy or their content -- there's been plenty of criticism and disagreement-- but I think it's generally presented in a constructive and respectful manner.

IDB has members with wonderfully wicked senses of humor, archivists who can find the most obscure pieces of history, and folks with some pretty impressive detective skills!

I took a look at those 'sources', and they're pretty ridiculous. Getting info from a mod of updatedphan (not saying it was actually the mod but you know what i mean) and citing it as coming straight from updatedphan is just absurd, and does the opposite of lending credibility.

But frankly i don't want to waste any more words on such transparent attention-seeking.

Anyway, I still haven't watched Phil's ls yet, but they're always so relaxing to listen to and I plan to do so tonight. My only question about all this is, why the hell did the source updatedphan and eternallyphan?? Both of them have said multiple times they know NOTHING personal about Dan and Phil. They have just been watching for ages and just have more knowledge on their twitters and youtubers and that was it. They don't know anything about them outside of things posted publicly.

Yeah, I think they are waiting for something to be filmed about. So far they'd done the usual catch pokemon, join a team and battle a gym, not sure what else can they do to make an interesting PokeGo vid. Hopefully some update or some kind to happen soon so we can see Dan in his glory trainer outfit.

1. No source within the phandom is more inherently trustworthy than any other. Being a popular twitter account or something doesn't mean shit, we're all just fans and we like to speculate. Citing another fan as a source is almost less convincing than not citing a source at all, in a way.

2. Whyyyy is being in a polyamorous relationship supposed to be scandalous? Societal values are completely arbitrary. It would actually be really … refreshing? … to see some positive polyamorous role models out there. If of course it's true at all, which sounds unlikely from what some of you have said. & same to smoking weed, like, my mum smoked weed when she was a lad, now she's a middle-class 61-year-old (happy birthday mum!) with a desk job.
