Slightly off topic, going back to the spooky week talk which I missed while at work..
What if they played just one game and marathoned it for a week? How would you guys feel about that? I think it would be nice to follow a series and actually understand what's going on each episode for a change, plus it would stop the annoying flash games for a week. They'd have to choose something they WANT to play, if they're going to do it for a week. Apart from losing out on variation, I think I'd be happy if they just played one game for the whole week.
I'm not too clued up on horror games, what would you like them to play for the week?

Don't think I'd like that, because I like a mix and if it was something gash then I'd be disappointed for the whole week. Also that's what they're doing with Undertale so I don't think they'd do it twice. I don't know games either but my ideal would be:itsonlybeth wrote:Slightly off topic, going back to the spooky week talk which I missed while at work..

Day 1 - FNAF, to shut everyone up, and ease us in gently. Also tradition.
Day 2 - something legit scary but like, jump scary. Not full on terror. I'm not ready yet.
Day 3 - I'll allow a flash game. I'm feeling generous. Make it weird and low-fi for extra points.
Day 4 - something not on the PC. Bonus if its a board game or involves other people. Get creative.
Day 5 - something that will make me shit my pants as a big crescendo finale. Like PT.
All points are doubled if Dan ends up in Phil's lap at some point.
I wonder how biology can explain the physical pain you feel in your chest when all you want to do is talk shit on IDB
I'd like that! They seem to think they can only play new games to get genuine reactions (but lbr a lot of their reactions aren't genuine anyway, so moot) but I'd love them to go back to the original idea of 'let's play games we really enjoy' and play through one of the Silent Hill games. They've gone on so long about how much they love them, well let's see it please. I've only ever watched my brother play them, but I seem to remember a lot of jump scares that they probably wouldn't be 100% expecting (especially if they choose an older one they haven't done in a while), so we'd still get some genuine reactions along with the bants. I don't know why they've backed themselves into a corner on the gaming channel, thinking they can't do this or that. Just Play Games, it's not that complicated guys.itsonlybeth wrote:What if they played just one game and marathoned it for a week? How would you guys feel about that? But yeah, I'm kind of just expecting whatever computer games they can find with a Halloween theme. And FNAF isn't scary and never has been. Just throwing that out there lol.
Omg this just reminded me of some board game my parents had called FEAR that actually freaked me right out. It probably wouldn't have the same effect today, but oh man. There was a VHS tape involved with a scary demon man in a robe sassing the players.Lurktacularr wrote:Day 4 - something not on the PC. Bonus if its a board game or involves other people. Oop I lied it was called Nightmare:

Yes it reminded me of this too. It was almost like they were repeating the 'classic phan moments' with the neck touching and that comment.BisexualShoeMarriage wrote: “I thought you liked it, I thought you wanted to talk about it more” reminds me of

Also what was Dan going to say after 'I love when you google world's biggest snake-'
Yeah it cracked me up, it felt very hyperaware to me. It's almost like you're third wheeling throughout the entire video and then suddenly bam 'I see you'.RiriPandaHeart2 wrote: “You’ve got an impressive length” then Dan’s smirk at the camera.
Also at 6:40 when Phil is touching Dan's neck Dan says 'Does it look like this is something I'm ready to- ready to-' Y'know if you want to over-analyse
Funny bits (last trashcan emoji I promise - what do you mean you don't believe me??)
Phil cracked me up saying 'there's beauty in the world everywhere even in poop'
Dan saying 'You absolute twat.' to Phil

Enjoyed the video a lot, enjoying Slither.io a fair bit myself too now thanks, boys.
Despair slightly at Phil getting Pantheon wrong, started wondering if he shouldn't take a minute to check things like that with Google before filming, but hey spontaneity even in looking daft with the wrong word. He was adorable throughout, though, loved the pun title on his gel mask, trying to distract Dan, being upset at losing, making such a cute green worm for the board, breaking the printer by dropping pens in it, fgs man. Printers are a pain, I have had a bad run with them so I won't judge too much on that.
Would have allowed him a free punch to Dan's obnoxious mouth or to give him a dead arm tbh (I swear I'm not actually a violent person). Funny as he is with it, and he is, wow, on fire with the annoying points today. His voice when he asked "did you think you could do it" sounded how he used to years ago, that was cute. I feel for Phil on the receiving end of all that teasing, he takes it with better humour than I would. I mean, assuming they're not putting on p-words or anything
Good suggestions for potential games so far. I'm intrigued by The Cat Lady, will look up Cryoatic's channel and keep Life is Strange in mind, I hadn't realised there was more to that.

I'm glad the video appealed to most of you but in all honesty, it bored me. Was rooting for Phil cause he needs to catch up on the leaderboard (i'm still looking at that christmas badge, dan. dont think you can brush that past me.) It was pretty average and I didn't laugh or smile at the bants like I usually do but it might just be my mood having an impact on the way I perceive their humor. It felt like a really short video even though it was 12 mins long. I kept zoning out a bit until Dan's banging woke me back up...

What a cute video!
I have nothing more to comment besides tons of pink trash cans and phan goggles but people already did that.
I agree. It's interesting that they talked about that. It's not something they'd usually do.bluewho wrote:

I would definitely go for Cryaotic since he actually takes games seriously and he doesn't make a joke out of them.
The Cat Lady is seriously depressing though so like trigger warning and all that jazz. Just sayin' to anyone interested. Personally I can't get enough of it because I would rather stare these topics head on than hide from them but das just me doe.

Someone mentioned board games! (I have a lot of board games) I would love for anyone really to play live boardgames. My vote for spooky week boardgames
All links are to Tabletop with Wil Wheaton - Its a great series
1. Betrayal at house on the hill - exploring a haunted house together, then fighting the evil. Not really scary, although it can get a bit creepy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MINNKyE4fjs
2. Dread - A storytelling pen and paper game where a game master (PJ pls, he could make a great story, and felix and marzia because hes so cynical and shes so cute!) put the players in a scary situation, and the players decided what they want to do. Every successful action to keep the players alive depends on the pull of a jenga block, so as the game gets scarier the likelihood of failing increases. I highly recommend watching these videos (its a 2 parter).
I would love to see DnP, and all the youtubers, play open ended pen and paper games because they are all so clever and creative. PJ would be a great DM with great storylines and twists, You would have Dan, who would try to min max and take it really seriously, then phil, who would make up weird skills and try world breaking things or make up his own spells lol, and Chris would try to seduce all the npc's. I just really want a fantastic foursome DnD adventure ok.

It feels like a conscious mention to me as well, especially mentioning it in both videos. I liked it. I freaking love rainbows, partly for the symbolism, partly just for the way they look.bluewho wrote:To the person who wondered last week whether Dan chose/commented on the rainbow snake knowing the rainbow's meaning as an LGBT+ symbol: this week he called a rainbow snake a 'fabulous rainbow of death'I don't know, it seems like he's conscious of it to me
I liked the video. It was nice to have shorter video rather than sitting through a 30 minute Dil. I can't believe no one has mentioned the slow mo nose tap by Phil when he was waving his hands around. It looked so violent but the slow mo makes it look hilarious (and kinda sweet i dunno )
and I was like really? But that actually sounds really good. I also wouldn't be against them just playing regular jenga now that I think about it...
I think boardgames would be a really good idea for them but I'm not sure how I feel about really complex ones. I need to be able to follow along easily in a game and to be able to follow it over multiple episodes if it's long.

I saw the jenga in that start screen and thought you were gonna suggest regular jengaArtdefines06 wrote:

I noticed this as well. The emphasis on it in the thumbnail, the date it was posted...at the very least, it could be their low key way of showing support.BisexualShoeMarriage wrote:It feels like a conscious mention to me as well, especially mentioning it in both videos. Phil also comments on it as well, in the first video. At 1:38, I think I hear him say "I quite like that one", but I'm not sure because Dan is talking over him.

BTW I find the phandom's reaction to the number of videos that puts out this month the funniest. We haven't missed any LS as well. They are asking if there is something wrong with D&P because they've been uploading DAPG videos. My favorite theory is that this is their way of saying the end is coming.

Flashback to last Spooky week when we were all discussing how in each game they seemed to have gotten closer and closer until they were practically on top of each other. Lets hope that trend continues this year
All the spooky weeks so far: shitty game, silly game, stupid game, wtf game, great game They insert phan in each one so im always pleased if not a little critical of their choices
Im so angry that Phil didn't win the game. Phil why do you suck so much at games and why did you go first

Heck yes! As a board game and RPG lover I would to see them play out a tabletop horror game. I am especially on board for your suggestion of Dread with PJ as game master, that'd be a dream. I'm laughing just envisioning that bolded part, that's definitely how it would all go downArtdefines06 wrote:Someone mentioned board games! Although a traditional dice-rolling RPG would be a very abnormal choice for their gaming channel, I think it'd be so cool to see their acting chops for a one-shot Call of Cthulhu game, which depending on the game master can get really damn creepy! I've always wondered if deppy ever got into role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, etc...
But yes, I think an intense tabletop horror game would be fun and a good way to change things up a bit instead of just playing PC games all the time. That said, a relatively new PC game that may be fun to watch is "Emily Wants to Play". It freaked me right out, creepy children and dolls are the death of me.

I've never put much weight into that theory for one reason alone: Deppy don't so shit with a bang. They do it with a quiet hum, hoping to draw as little attention to themselves as possible and minimise drama.
The only exception to this was the trailer drop for the book, and look how that went
When they inevitably bow out of Youtube, I imagine it will be a slow fade. They'll ghost us. And I'm fine with that. Especially since, unlike in that fic, I'm anticipating houses and dogs and maybe kids to soften the blow. I'll be trash until the day I die.

Poor Phil, that shit hurts
I used to get the contacts wedged under my eyelid which was uncomfortable at best but very inconvenient when you're outside and suddenly one eye blurs and you have to explain why to your friends when you do gross things to your eyeball
