Day Four, mwahaha

I have to be honest: the game itself was pretty dull to me. But it tried just enough to be spooky, Daniel is like an early 2000s Southern hip hop song when he’s noping hardcore, and Phil seemed to be enjoying time well spent with his dear friend. All of those things more than made up for it. Favorite parts:

- Dan doing Hello Internet in the mask
- Phil’s fondness when he said “I think you should stop analyzing it, Dan”
- The sound/music in the game overall. OK, that was its redeeming quality. Took me back to Phantasmagoria days.
- Phil saying that tooth thing looked like a monster he would draw when he was eight…and all of us knowing that’s a dead on description.
- “Toothy McFriend”- Dan uses a Phil-ism…or maybe Phil uses Dan-isms all the time.
- Dan: “Hello friend” (the thing turns around and waves its nubby arms) “…AHHH!!”
- Only jumpscare that got me: the eyes the first time around
- …I mean, so much for keeping the gaming channel PG-rated, Dan’s just going for it
- Dan’s “I’m gonna shit” song…better be adding that to the EP
- Their mumbly regular voices at 14:24-37ish. They both have nice non-performative voices
- Dan: Get your flat feet in this cage. Monster: boo. Them both: AAaaaaAa!

Did anyone else notice how little they looked at the camera? It’s like many people have said already- they were so much more into enjoying it and each other’s company this time

Aw, I’m going to miss this…good thing we have DAPGO right on its tail!

Re: What's next

regarding dan's hint- the only one coming to mind for me is the cat lady, which i know a bit about, but tl;dr it's apparently very dark. i remember it being discussed on the main thread pre-spooky week, so i watched the video of felix playing tcl and i'd honestly like seeing deppy take a reach out of their comfort zone on this one. just not sure how they'd go about it. the game seemed pretty interesting to me, though! any other ideas as to what it could be?

I recently watched it because someone recommended it on the thread and I can't see them playing it on camera. First of all: it's too long. But most importantly because it's way too heavy for their funny gaming channel. It isn't just creepy or scary or disturbing, it also portrays depression in a very realistic way. It even made me cry (I never cry while watching movies or stuff like that, so you can imagine how heavy it is). It just doesn't belong on their gaming channel.

The Cat Lady looks way too real formepersonallyrn but interesting...I agree that it's probably not a fit for their channel but I might have to check it out...thanks for mentioning it!

I'll be perfectly honest here, as someone so far up their asses I can practically see the light, do they really, honestly deserve any of these? Dan winning best series of ISG? Phil for travel vlog? Really? What's the point of these awards, we can see from the Teen Choice that they literally don't care if they win or lose. They accepted their award, went home and Dan was spotted by fans later that evening buying groceries. None of this matters, I'm sick of the popularity contest

2009-2010 Phan is so LDR goals, they must've spend so much money on train tickets to see each other that often holy hell. And ever since Dan moved up to Manchester I don't think they've been away from each other for more than two weeks.

It's these kinda thing that really strap on my Phan goggles tightly, simply because I have trouble believing that two internet friends who really only just met each other were willing to spend so much money (and time! Reading<->Manchester is like 3 hours at least.) on train journeys to see each other that often. It really makes me think that there must've been something more there.

Since I am probably the same person that talked about it way back then and still not over it I would suggest looking into it only if you are not bothered by dark topics/issues! It doesn't shy away from words or concepts or imagery, at all

Also the prequel to the game, Downfall, got a revamp and it's in the same aesthetics as TCL so I highly recommend it too! It's even more messed up, if you can believe that It has a similar vibe as in very dark topics/issues but it doesn't come out until much later, whereas TCL pretty much tells you about its story in the first two minutes (not in a spoiler way, just in a "what you may expect from this game" kind of way)

If you want Youtubers to watch don't watch anyone else except Cryaotic. I haven't seen many play the game and treat it with the severity it deserves. Most either don't "get it", they find it too dark/depressing for them, they just treat it as "dark edgy indie game" like lolzwhatevs, or they just don't care for it. If you do find someone though, pm me cause I wanna see them

Agreed. It's very odd and a tad inappropriate to put ISG in the same category as, say, Oscar's Hotel, which was an actual months-long production with a big crew and cast and...you know...effort. Not that I dislike ISG or anything...

Same, I mean I hold deppy in a really high regard (higher than I should for two dorks who upload their own show late, but I guess quality doesn't necessarily have to go hand on hand with organization) but I really don't think ISG is a series that deserves an award, I can't say I have seen the other ones that are nominated, but I have heard wonders of Oscars Hotel, and I'm 99% sure pj has taken more than a couple of days in prepping for his series, meanwhile Dan has stated that ISG is his "go to" video (not saying it's bad, just not necessarily his best). The same goes for day in the life vids, that are literally long daily vlogs we get everytime they are in an interesting place. Obvs they should win in the other awards (I'm still dubious about the tech one though) because their content is quality and I'm fucking proud on how much they have achieved.

I didn't really enjoy FNAF or Sonic, I just found the games to be a bit on the boring side.
Outlast 2 was more my thing but I got to the end of the video and didnt feel scared at all. I remember watching Dan play the first Outlast and found it really harrowing but this time round I didn't. I'm not sure why because it's quite intense. I did get to the end of the video and it felt like it was over really quickly, maybe I would have enjoyed it more if it had been longer?
Today's video with the dolls, well, I found myself getting distracted half way through because I didn't find the game that interesting. I laughed at the scares more than anything, I liked their discussions through it and Dan saying 'shit on my face made me laugh a lot but I dunno, I feel that this spooky week so far is the worst one. maybe it's because I found silent hill fucking scary that I expect the scary games to live up to the jumpscares in that.

I'm hoping out for something good tomorrow, they better not push out a dil because, no.
