I was overreacting about my reaction the video yesterday- it really wasn't that bad, it was more that it caught me in a bad mood and I viewed it through grumpy lenses.

Since we are talking about Speculating- why do you think they have been so slack on retweeting lately? There's the really late twitter retweets, no Facebook retweet, and Martin retweeted a Dan and Phil stand up to cancer tweet but neither of the boys have.

Maybe they are just busy or maybe it's #phandivorce (I'm really j/k about this one) but honestly hope everything is good with them

Well, this might projecting a little bit but I reblog a lot of memes which are similiar to this even though I really hate the whole existential crisis thing because some people think it's cute or funny but it's just 100% shitty without exception and it doesn't really depend on my mood. Sometimes it's because I am feeling terrible and sometimes not.
Maybe that is for him that way, too.

I dont think anyone can be expected to remember every game they've played, thing they've said, or DB they've posted, and, as someone with an impressive ability to forget large amounts of important information, I feel like we should give Deppy the benefit of the doubt. Remember Dan taking the moral highground in his NHIE collab with Tyler, when he said he'd never taken a photo of another Youtuber without them knowing; and then, in "Top Dan Memes of 2015", acknowledging that what he'd said wasn't true? I feel a bit like the phandom are hypervigilant when it comes to this sort of thing, after so many years of deliberate deppy distance followed by nohomo declarations, so we're extremely sensitive to any possibility that further haru-ing may occur, especially in the face of the bounty that is 2016 Deppy. But only a day ago, we were neck deep in Gamingmas pheels, and it's a shame that the reactions on this board have shifted in tone so drastically due to an old DB and a slightly peeved Dan moment. In my opinion, the kind of Deppy affection we've had over the last two weeks is pretty strong evidence that most of what we're seeing is genuine.
Just my opinion; I love all you guys and what you do. IDB has improved my Deppy experience a thousand fold and I'm just grateful to be able to be a part of it

My most innocent/positive theory is that the videos they had pre-recorded finally caught up to them now and they are trying to keep the ball rolling

I - personally - wouldn't demand fancy editing and special effects if it meant I could get a video but I understand how to them that would feel like laziness

Maybe they are recording multiple sessions in a day, just switching their clothes to seem like a different recording day. Perhaps they are just burning out a bit and need a break; but I know how breaks can seem lovely until you start to feel like "oh shit I'm wasting my time relaxing when I could be doing something productive"

and yes I believe it WAS Phil who started the Manchester friend rumour. He really says the oddest things sometimes Like did they honestly believe everyone's memories from 2009 onwards got wiped? But Phil is clever: he's built such a persona of sweetness and innocence and niceness that he could claim the world is upside down and it would sound genuine. When confronted with the idea of Phil lying the common reaction is "oh my god what Phil would NEVER do that he's too precious!" the AP brand is built on a childlike honesty even though yes, he did post that milk picture on dailybooth.

It's typical but it gets more intense during certain times or you know he's got something on his mind. Is it new? Nah, not at all. Can it often signify that something in his life is bothering him? Yeah, if he posts more than one tweet in that mood/his liveshow can show it too sometimes.

Seasonal depression is a thing - I'm dealing with it right now. The stress of having to see family/buy gifts/act happy and the lack of sun do affect people. He could be a little frustrated and down, but its not forever and he will be ok. We can't all be perfect and chipper all the time.

Fully agree, it's well known that winter is a horrible time for some people (it's called SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder) plus with the added stresses of his work plus potential family stress regarding Christmas plus the ending of a large project I'm not surprised he's like this at the moment, or of course it could just be a throwaway joke not meant to be analysed? Who knows.

I got from your response to dollicious that it was the timing and tone of the joke that bugged you, but you asked if a joke like that would bother anyone else, given the framework of a relationship akin to Deppy's, so I laid out that framework to show why it wouldn't. (I don't actually have a relationship like theirs, and my initial answer (removed during editing) to your question was that my response would depend on the circumstances of the friendship.)

But have we ever had proof/suspicion of Phil lying? either for views, for attention, to hide himself, or even random crap? I'm not saying he wouldn't ever 100% cinnamon roll, but we have little to go by because he usually seems so composed when he talks. I'm not saying he doesn't lose his cool but he seems to be the kind of person that's bad at hiding something on the fly but good at keeping cool under a controlled story, does that make sense?

I thought Phil was actually the first one to say 'we met through a mutual friend in Manchester', someone correct me, but even if he wasn't the originator of it, he said it in a liveshow once. Tsk tsk. But yeah he definitely tends to have a stronger poker face.

Plus, if Dan was being suggestive on Twitter/Dailybooth/etc. for attention and views, so was Phil. Phil may not have gotten naked, but the Dailybooth that I found most shockingly suggestive was Phil's with the milk.

Also, if a certain video is fake, Phil's the biggest liar there is. (Or, it's not fake, and he's lied about that.)

if anyone would like to discuss Phil more, i'm so here for it. (well as much as we can ) it's definitely interesting, the contrast between him and dan, they both share alot of their lives - granted, not all of it - and yet we know phil a lot less than dan based on information given. i do wonder if this is branding or if he's just that kind of person.

also the milk dailybooth and lying - even more interesting. i wonder what changed? guess it could of just been him growing up, but he was in his early 20's then right? he went from suggestive to 'innocent cinnamon roll', i wonder if he's gonna drop that?
