They might prefer doing it in chunks in case something fails, then they don't lose everything. I used Fraps to record myself playing The Sims 4 a while ago, making a family so I'm not sure how long I was doing it, could have been an hour or more, and I've got 200GBs. When I saw all that I wondered how the heck any of them store their raw footage. I've also had an internal PC SSD fail without knowing why, was just glad it did it within its year of warranty.
Edit: how do I keep ending up at the top of the page? Is a conspiracy?

Yea it's odd. Come on guys you can afford the 300 or so quid to get a large, stable SD card. and the 99p for a digital elf. Idk if it's their frugality or laziness but I setting your alarm every 25 min just for this is a bit ridic. Especially since they pay so much attention to other technical aspects like lightening and they take editing.

I loved Undertale so much! I also was unspoiled, and I really enjoyed these last few videos. I wish we could have had that sort of devotion to the game play from the beginning, but I know everyone loves Papyrus, but Phil absolutely sold me on Alphys.
I can't believe you guys already have timestamps for a 2 hour video!!!!

I think you're right. I know a lot of people who use DSLR's and that's just how they work. You have to watch it and push record again if you go too long. It's not an issue with the memory card or how good the equipment is.

I am not disbelieving you personallt, I can just hardly imagine there are no cameras that meet youtubers requirements AND are capable for recording more than 25 minutesisabella wrote:MoonPride wrote:I think it's a case of the camera only filming so much at a time. I can believe it, but only because I watch so many daily vloggers that seem to need a new camera every other month because either they're trying new technology that promises to be good enough and doesn't work, or they just ask too much of ones not meant for constant use like that.gnostic wrote:I am not disbelieving you personallt, I can just hardly imagine there are no cameras that meet youtubers requirements AND are capable for recording more than 25 minutesisabella wrote:MoonPride wrote:I think it's a case of the camera only filming so much at a time. I also think whoever said they might prefer editing in chunks because you lose less in a crash that way has a point.

Hi everyone! Happy xmas eve!
I've loved gamingmas so much! So sad undertale is over, I'm so fond of Papyrus and all the other charactes and I will miss them a lot. I dont think they'll play the genocide run tho, if you guys want to check it out I recommend jack's playthrough.
Looking forward to today's sims vid! Idk how I'll cope with vids once in a month after gamingmas :')

Mods:
Camera: Their issue probably is coz of the memory card. How would they know the exact amount of time they can record if it's not the memory card? Though they can use a memory card with higher capacity, most cameras can't handle those kind of memory cards. You either destroy your camera or the video itself. It's better to have multiple memory cards. (I only learned these things from travel vloggers who explain their camera set-up)
Tweet: Really, Dan??!! You felt the need to reply to Phil's tweet? Do already miss him?? Or, you just found an excuse to avoid family interaction? Jk. Don't mind me. I'm a
Do we know when they'll be reunited again? They'll spend New Year together, right?

I had a huge nightmare with getting a decent memory card so I knew all about the struggle.
Although I have an actual Canon videocamera and not a dlsr that can record video, the "suitability" is that the right word? of memory cards varies wildly by company and class. I currently own the highest class memory card although it's not necessarily the largest space, it's more than enough for more than 30 mins of full HD 1080p video. You have to research your card class and model of your camera because otherwise it won't go to its full potential.

Happy holiday guys!
2016 was a wild ride, we had a great start but followed by a massive tour drought then suddenly there was a book, and a movie, and a movie about the movie, and then it came the glorious gamingmas. Now the year almost ends, I look back thanking deppy, even thought they gave us the #busgate, they also gave us the escalating year long kinky flirty non-chillness. More importantly, on March 27, 2016, IDB was born. In here we laugh, we share, we bant, and we shall continue to do so, because idb is our home, our land of friendship and true trashiness.

Undertale's ending definitely made up for some of the slower episodes, but my memory is rubbish and I have no idea at all how deppy kept recalling characters and their personalities from like almost a year ago: mad memory skills on their behalf! And their voice acting consistency was impeccable
Favourite moment: 12:17. Alphys' speech is totally not applicable...to anyone we know...right? and then Dan's "knowing" burst of laughter

Did anyone else feel Phil was kind of off during the Alphys date or was it just me and I can't read him well enough? Dan was having a blast with the speech and the platonic bit and the roleplaying but Phil seemed kind of silent, do you think he was uncomfortable or just enjoying the moment?
i think at one point he said he was wheezing and joked about someone having rubbed a cat on his jumper (can't bother to find the timestamp@4:41), so i think maybe he wasn't feeling so well.melon lord wrote:Did anyone else feel Phil was kind of off during the Alphys date or was it just me and I can't read him well enough?
