That was kinda my point before, why are people so desperate to understand who D&P were with? If they wanted us to know they'd tell us by tagging people. There was no need for the original poster to even make the tumblr post, great if they wanted to find out who they were with but why not just keep it private; why have to make a public post about it.

The difference, for me, between this and cardgate (since you bought it up) was that the card was visible enough in the video for people to guess/read what was on it. Dan didn't go out of his way to hide it, however Phil purposely cropped people out of the photo he posted, he didn't want to draw attention to them. A card isn't something that the phandom can harass just because they know Dan and Phil.

I do see how finding out who they were with goes directly against what Phil intended by cropping people out. That's kind of gross. I guess I still don't majorly see the harm though? There's nothing super personal about whose party they were at.

I don't think it would've been as big of a deal if the person had blocked out the location. It still would've been super iffy and unnecessary but at least it wouldn't have been as easy to find the friend. It's good she deleted the post and apologized though. It does suck how some people have no respect for the privacy of their friends

if this is the case, this seems sketchy, no? may explain why both dan and phil were not spotted returning to london. who knows though despite the information, really not happy that people still go to the lengths they do to find out private details about dan and phil

I think that there is some sort of misunderstanding going on here. I understand that people don't like phandom members following people in D+P's life. Yet I don't think that the original poster intended for that? They were just trying to understand who D+P were with. They even covered the name. The only ones to blame are the ones who actually followed this woman's instagram.
I see that this could seem invasive to try to see which friends D+P were hanging with. I would never look for and post such a thing myself. But at the end of the day they weren't really invading anyone's privacy (ahem #cardgate).

Not sure if that's what your're saying but Phil's parents no longer live in that area, they moved to the Isle of Man a while ago. So he didn't travel back and forth to the exact same place just to pick up Dan or anything. He went back to London for a few days, and then presumably he and Dan went to Manchester/{removed} for NYE.

Always a no to the stalking of civilians social media accounts and sharing it in public like this btw

Oh god. This combined with Dan and Phil's friend being stalked (people had to nerve to get angry on tumblr about Dan hanging out with a female. Like she has a family OH MY GOD THEY ARE THE WORST). Times like these make me the most anti phan because if I were phan I'd be too horrified to ever reveal a different relationship or specify that I'm not actually with that person. They can't do anything. Dan and Phil are saints because if I were them I could not handle this fan base at all.

Yeah, deppy's fan base is very wild and A LOT of people in it go insane when dan or phil hang out with a female at all. I honestly don't really know why people want to know who dnp have/are hanging out with that much. I wouldn't be very good at handling this fan base either. Although it would be kind of cool to see people do stuff like #cardgate

I know the information is {or was} available elsewhere, but it is personal information about people who have not chosen to be in the public eye - and we do have a rule about it. Saying "up North" or something along those lines is fine.

Glad that they deleted the post but it does make me laugh that they said "I forgot people will actually go on and stalk dan and phil's friends" seeing as that's basically what they did to make their original post.

I want to take the time to say that I really don't blame whoever posted the insta pic because you could tell it was innocent since they scratched out the name. Obviously it was a dumb thing to do/still not respectful but i dont think they knew and they could be young so i dont want to be too harsh. Its the annoying phandom making it a huge deal and following Dan and Phil's random mom friend is what makes me yiiiikes... I HATE the phandom's policing culture (I mean that about no one here but like on tumblr people will find the dumbest shit to police people about just so they can yell at them and boss them around) so I want to be clear that I wasn't singling this person out at all. I don't think Ian being settled means all his friends from school are married and with kids. I'm sure like with most people Phil also knows some people from school who don't ever want kids or who are career focused and/or haven't managed to settle yet to be in a place to have kids.
And out of the few friends they have that we know of both Wirrow and Bryony are older than Phil (I think) and to my knowledge they don't have children. And Phil's brother is older than him and he also still hasn't married or had kids (again to my knowledge).
So Phil isn't even the oldest person in his immediate family/close friend circle who hasn't had kids yet.

This is not to say Phil isn't broody as that depends entirely on him as a person. Some people are broody at 18 and some never feel like that.
He has in the past referenced having children like it's a given he'll have them one day but his never really said anything publicly to suggests he is feeling his biological clock ticking and wants them now. But then again we are talking about Phil and he doesn't give anything a way so who knows how he feels about it.
