Dan & Phil Part 35: knock knock, who’s there, i hate you
These young viewers seems to forget they are men hence not restricted by biological clock (assuming they wish to procreate naturally). 30 is the new 20 as we do seem to have older parents nowadays, if Janet Jackson can do it at 50 then these fangirls will have to wait a long time

that's alright for the young fans but what about us who are the same age/older than deppy, when they do stuff at 50 we'll be likesweetmm wrote:These young viewers seems to forget they are men hence not restricted by biological clock (assuming they wish to procreate naturally). 30 is the new 20 as we do seem to have older parents nowadays, if Janet Jackson can do it at 50 then these fangirls will have to wait a long time
*browses super-computer on the virtual internet where youtube is an empire and videos are now VR experiences and we see an article that deppy are having kids*

Didn't Dan say in a gaming video that Phil thinks marriage is just a piece of paper.
As for having kids, i'm going out on a limb, but Phil talking about wanting immortality to me indicates he's not someone who wants children of his own.
p.s. i read someone on tumblr calling idb-ers "old birds"

It's always hilarious to me how Tumblr in all it's progressiveness completely loses it's collective mind at the thought of someone turning 30. You can literally imagine their eyes bulging out of their sockets as they think of how old, gray and wrinkly 30 year olds would be. They're basically standing with one foot in their graves already!
But what about Wolf Howellmalday wrote:Didn't Dan say in a gaming video that Phil thinks marriage is just a piece of paper.

I'M DEAD I'M EMBRACING THE TERM "OLD BIRDS" (sidenote: even as someone who's only 18, I'm feeling too old for tumblr phandom (not actually in it but I just lurk) so I'm really glad in depth bants exists as a place for more mature people!)sweetmm wrote:But what about Wolf Howellmalday wrote:Didn't Dan say in a gaming video that Phil thinks marriage is just a piece of paper.

I wouldn't be surprised if Phil doesn't want kids, or wants them less than Dan now that I think of it. He's said he's not good around babies and seems to have less baby fever than Dan (who I think REALLY wants kids). But I picture Phil up north on a rural big house with lots of babies and animals and it makes me Fact of the matter is, unlike Dan Phil doesn't share that much personal stuff so there's no way of knowing
I will say though I'm still shook over Deppy decorating the baby room in Sims because they both seemed like they wanted kids SO BAD (probably emotionally not logically) it hurt my heart.

(Also I love how Deppy is a singular person to us now to the point where they just have a collective age)
Phil did say it, but in relation to a bad marriage I think. Not that marriage wasn't a big deal.malday wrote:Didn't Dan say in a gaming video that Phil thinks marriage is just a piece of paper.

Some people look at procreation as a way to gain immortality in a way. Keep the memory alive and all that, pass on the family name yada yada...
old birds, well for some of us they aint too far off.
OH and the whole apartment living discussion was great! IDB never change,

Yes. He said that marriage is only a piece of paper if neither of the people in the relationship are happy. Also, I'm sure he's mentioned wanting a family before, but maybe I'm misremembering.Winston wrote:Phil did say it, but in relation to a bad marriage I think. Why would Phil not wanting to die = not wanting kids? I get like, the idea of outliving your loved ones isn't enjoyable, but by that logic couldn't you say Phil wouldn't want to marry/have a long term partner either?
Besides that, if Dan and Phil are in a relationship with each other I'm sure Phil would be alright with having kids. Dan seems to want them (like, want them) and that's not really something you can compromise on.

On Phil wanting children:
As a student of Phil's pre-pinof 2009 videos, I can point out that in this one, while he didn't state that he wanted children, he had a ready answer for kids' names: Jake/Jack and Emily (he assumes he'll have a boy and a girl
).

I take any opportunity to promote old-school Phil!

"If you're left-handed, ask a friend."
"Why am I left-handed?"
"Everybody makes mistakes."
that was great. I had never seen that before. People really did have a thing for his feet. haha poor Philly.LeftHandedism wrote:On Phil wanting children:

I think you'll find that idb skews slightly older! Here's a link to the demographics survey results Winston mentioned. Polling determined that the largest age range is 20-24, with 16-19 coming in second and 25-29 in third.buttrito wrote:i actually had no idea ppl on here were around the same age as me (im 20)

That's true, but Phil mentions it in the life extension kind of way.Winston wrote:

His memory is kept alive through youtube and the family name can be carried on by a nephew just as well.
If you fear death that much it doesn't make sense to want to bring someone else into the world and subject them to dieing . (to clarify I was thinking of biological children). Your partner is already alive.anathema wrote: Yes. He said that marriage is only a piece of paper if neither of the people in the relationship are happy. I think Phil wants immortality just because he enjoys life that much (bless his soul), I don't think it's got anything to do with him wanting kids or not
also omg i feel like such a foetus compared to some of you, i am but an actual 16 year old embryo on this forum dear lord

i love this bc i get the vibe that dan and phil have very different tastes on baby names. if when they decide to have children, there's gonna be a lot of arguing bc there's no way dan's letting phil name their a child such a basic-ass name as emily. he's definitely gonna want something a little more ~unique~LeftHandedism wrote:On Phil wanting children:

You know I am surprised Phil never was on Big Brother, he would of made a interesting housemate back in the early days of the show. Though i am secretly hoping one day he and Dan do the
Celebrity version.

Isn't Ian's child called Emily?LeftHandedism wrote:On Phil wanting children:

Coincidence? Influence upon her naming?
Is Phil the Godfather? Is Dan's Phil's beard for his secret relationship with Ian?
