I'm glad Dan was happier during the ls, I might catch up on it in a bit.
RE them not living together: I don't see why they would move after the tour. If anything they would probably want some time to just chill without worrying about finding a new place.
I am curious to know how they would act if they moved out, though. It seems like they would have to put out at leat an explanation video, with promises of more videos together in the future.
They won't survive on youtube for very long without each other, imo. Too many of their fans are attached to who they are as a duo. Not to mention the gaming channel would probably die, losing them millions of subscribers and views.

really enjoyed the ls, happy chilled out dan is my fav
also that jacket looks amazing on him, red is deffo his colour (maybe ditch the black once in a while? no? ok didn't think so)
mentally preparing myself for the inevitable content drought during the tour though, sounds like they haven't got a lot of time to pre-record gaming vids before they set off rip undertale also if they end up going on tour again after the US, which is what he made it sound like, then it's going to be a whole summer of waiting might have to actually go outside and do stuff... fml
i'm happy internet takeover is dead, it would feel totally wrong if it carried on without them and i loved how he seemed to feel the same way, lol sorry jack and dean aka phan wannabes lol can you imagine how pissed off they must have been
also i full on laughed when the person in the chat said their little sis was pulling their hair and he yelled GET OFF YOU COW omg dan
overall 8/10 liveshow

Is this satisfactory?
This was one of the first liveshows I've ever watched live. Ballet. Spiral of flame. Dan and Phil Trash #1. Good times. I'm gonna rewatch it later because I feel like I missed half of what he said.
Edit: I'm glad you guys liked my video You're all so sweet haha.

I'm whatever about Jack & Dean, but I low-key can't wait for bitter comments from Emma & Luke.grannypants wrote: i'm happy internet takeover is dead, it would feel totally wrong if it carried on without them and i loved how he seemed to feel the same way, lol sorry jack and dean aka phan wannabes lol can you imagine how pissed off they must have been
can't.
wait.
Thanks and have a great day! Oil me
I'm glad he was unapologetic about his content too. These statements offer imo a rare glimpse into the more unfiltered Dan, who likes to hide behind sarcasm and self-deprecation. I am sure plenty of us could relatefancybum wrote: Most important part of the liveshow with that in mind:

I think it was a very nice way of dealing with it.Thank you for all of the kind comments. [That video took ages, it wasn't just an ISG, it was 'let's set up the green screen..']. You were all very nice about it, that's good, so #thankyou!
@missema (this quoting thing is hard): Yea, i share your concern about a burnout, and the effect it might have on their channel - or their friendship for that matter. I presume they'll get handsomely rewarded for their efforts, but it looks like they are diving in straight with their noses. Geesh, i'm not so sure it's a good idea to already plan another tour. Spending all of your days driving long distances and living cramped corners will exact a toll.
This only makes sense if you do love bringing a live show to as many fans as you can and/or if you're anxious about your career. Let's face it all the youtubers are basically at the grace of google. Who would like to place their whole future on one company having and some shady revenue-sharing agreement that can be altered at any time then again that's sort of the situation most of us are in :p

They're already a brand, I don't think anything would "die" if they move out, because it's their friendship that sells.lilMango wrote:I'm glad Dan was happier during the ls, I might catch up on it in a bit.

I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to move out. If they are not together, they might be in a need of a personal space. Not because they're sick of each other, but when you grow older you want that freedom and they can definitely afford to rent an apartment by themselves. If they are together, then of course that will not be the case. Buying an apartment/house together? Well, if they decide to come out, then yes, but I don't think it's going to happen soon.
Are they keeping the apartment for those 2 months they're away? Probably yes, as it's a pain in the arse to move, especially before a tour. Anyway, it's going to be an interesting year for the phandom I guess

All I have to say about Dan and Phil moving out is I would actually pay to be there when those two have to divide up their stuff and decide who owns what, Phil can probably lay claim to the house plants but everything else in that entire flat seems to be referred to as "our". Who gets to take what will no doubt be an epic battle.

If would move out and stop living together you can bet that there will be a shitstorm happening.
Same thing happened to Caspar and Joe, and their fan base isn't as intense as the phandom.
I'm with lilMango on this one, moving out would just be a lot of extra work and stress on top of everything else they have already planned this year. I don't see it happening. If they are not together and want to move out, it will be in the beginning months of next year when their lease will be up.

Sometimes I feel like I'm watching a different Dan and Phil than some people, and that's not shade at anyone - that's just me being fascinated by how many different interpretations of a situation there can be.
Personally, I think Dan and Phil exhibit none of the signs of people wanting to part ways and in fact seem very committed to never being all that far apart, personally or professionally. I look at them and all I see are two people sweetly infatuated with each other and the life they are living, no matter how want to label that relationship. But I am, as the kids say, phan af.

Does anyone know if D&P will professionally film other tatinof shows like how they did with the London ones?
I feel like they could've done a better job at letting people know before they got their tickets which shows will be filmed. I hope they do film at least one show in each country they visit as they will be slightly different to the original UK one.
BTW: I've made a thread where people can plan tatinof meet ups and discuss spoilers and reviews. If you've already seen a tatinof show, it's cool if you want to leave a review/spoiler for others who want to know things!

Yeah no doubt about that. Them moving away from one another would probably cause the biggest shitstorm to hit the fandom yet. I think the only way they could move out without everyone assuming they've had some kind of massive falling out is if it was to move in with romantic partners. And of course them suddenly having love interests (that are not each other) after not so much as having a publicly known date in the last six years would also raise hell. There is no way around this really unless they live together forever (or until after they've left the public eye) there will be hell raised in the phandom when they move out.SquishPhan wrote:If Dan and Phil would move out and stop living together you can bet that there will be a shitstorm happening.

This being said I personally don't see any signs they will be moving out when the tour is done, but I know we only see what they want us however so who knows what's really going on.
I will say though being able to financially afford to live alone and having the desire to do so are entirely different things. Some people go stir-crazy in an empty house night after night, particularly people like Dan and Phil who by their own admission don't particularly like social events and don't have regular jobs where they get to have daily interaction with people even if they come home to an empty house every night.

True, that' so fascinating. I often wonder where some of the opinions are coming from. But I guess that shows, that nobody can be completely objective and our views are all influenced by past experiences and the people we met.alittledizzy wrote:Sometimes I feel like I'm watching a different Dan and Phil than some people, and that's not shade at anyone - that's just me being fascinated by how many different interpretations of a situation there can be.
I personally can't see them moving out either, especially since their branding the last years went even more in the directions of Dan & Phil, instead of their individual channels. I also think they would lose at least their invested fanbase, if they went in different directions. Maybe not in the beginning, but a lot of people would slowly loose interest.
But if phan isn't real, they will move on at some point. I wonder if their popularity would suffer from that.

Is a current trend. Usually when they talk about the tour someone brings the "they are going to move" topic. This is the 4th time.

Same...from the looks of it, they are more of a 'unit' than they ever have been in years. I think that if either of them had any plans of moving out soon they would make more of an effort to do things separately, not include each other so much in their videos, etc. so it wouldn't come across as much of a shock. On the contrary, they have been doing the exact opposite. I'm not sure if my biased opinion counts for much because I'd love to see them live together forever and get a dog or something, but yeahsomelikeitpink wrote:I don't think I get at all where this discussion is coming from to be honest.SquishPhan wrote:Yes to all of this! I haven't watched yet but Dan actually said they offered them the breakfast show like specifically or could he have meant like weekend breakfast or another morning based slot?danphil333 wrote: dan also said that the internet takeover (one hour a month) was a promotion and that the bbc wanted them to do the morning show(who is nick grimshaw, peasant). Dan makes it look like the actual BBC is on their knees begging and kissing his and phils ass. I wouldnt take dan seriously.
If he did wow. For one it's definitely a faux pas to say you were offered someone's job when they never got fired and are currently still doing it and two the radio breakfast show despite it's constant slipping ratings is kind of an iconic thing in the UK. It's definitely the slot every other radio 1 DJ wants.
internet takeover was more of a brand™ than just the dan and phil request show, so technically it was kind of a promotion in that it became an established show they made. plus, i'd assume they still get paid for other youtubers doing the show since it's their format, so in terms of ££ per hour, it was probably an increase. but they obviously are respected by the company, for the amount of specials and jobs they get.

When he thanked everyone for being nice about the new video, even i thought there was a subtext of him thanking people for reacting well to the male attraction, not the video in general. And i'm usually very dense. I felt sappy. And i'm usually very unsappy. I liked it
[offtopic]I had a dream last night that they published a new book. It was published over night as a surprise and the title was #phanisreal. The book was tabinof retold but including their relationship (the chapter about their apartments was changed so that they also talked about where they both slept and some romantic anecdotes that i sadly can't remember) and what went on behind the scenes to hide phan. I have no idea where this came from, i don't even ship them that hard. I'd rather see more solo projects. :wtf: [/offtopic]

Also, the Joe and Caspar comparison: if Dan and Phil were going to follow that path they'd have parted ways like four years ago. Joe and Caspar moved in together as their rise to youtube fame really took hold, and at the peak of their fame are continuing their professional brand (the road trip things) while also establishing themselves independently in their own apartments and on their own channels, lacking the symbiotic nature Dan and Phil have. The only thing those two duos have in common is that they are all white male youtubers with a shipping fanbase. Personal behavior wise, the comparison is totally flat to me.bedhead91 wrote:Same...from the looks of it, they are more of a 'unit' than they ever have been in years. Oqua thanks for the video
I think by now the idea of them separating after the tour to me is not something to consider; most probably the uncertainty is more of what projects or side careers they'll be diving into as the BBCR1 is no longer on the plate.
As to Phil leaving for US first my guess its two-fold; one being that Martyn & Cornelia will be handling their merchandise booth, it makes sense that might as well their parents flew in and they can have their normal Florida family holiday.
Secondly, Phil seems to be the one that is involved more with the US TATINOF logistics, so he may need to do some last minute arrangements or the one that physically sight and ok with the tour bus etc. Dan will be left to edit the videos they might filmed prior to their tour.
Well I hope this will reflect that they are not codependent but merely depend on each other as normal partners do.

oqua your video was great! Beautiful character development and even if 2012!dan made me cringe a lot in it, I'm here for him being as he is now. I feel so proud it's stupid. You go, Dan.
(i'm being sappy it's 1.30am leave me alone)
I couldn't watch the ls tonight, only grabbed the last 5 minutes so I will watch it later on. He seemed very happy and relaxed. I loved it when he shouted at someone's sister
I will watch it tomorrow and come back and leave my thoughts.
For now I am still very glad he seemed happy about his content and our reactions to it.
