jogging for two weeks wouldn't have any noticeable differences physically either, I'm kinda confused, his bicep looked big because of the position he flexed it, and he spent his birthday week eating cake and then ate like 7 macaroons for that gaming videos, he's not exactly healthy yet

Not just his arms...his pecs look more defined. And yes, his sweet tooth needs its own solar system but it appears he's been working his upper body.

I wanted to say more about why I loved the Pastel Edits video (I don't mind the recent negative comments--great to get a variety of opinions here! ).

As I pointed out in my brief timestamps yesterday, I was hooked when Dan mentions (at 1:20) that Phil might start biting him, because it inevitably brought me back to a certain video (the words of which I may have more-or-less memorized , even though I only actually saw it very recently ). Anyway, of course, in that video, Phil says, "The first time we met, I was the nervous-est person ever, as you could tell, and I was clawing at you, and biting you".

The biting reference anchors the impression I got from this video in particular--which other people here have mentioned--of Phil focusing on Dan: touching his curls, dressing him up, and, well, potentially biting him. And this is how I see their first few videos together, especially pinof, pinof2, AmazingDan: Phil totally focused on Dan as though he's the most amazing thing and the best person in the world, that he almost literally wants to gobble up.

I entered the Phandom almost a year ago . I started out almost exclusively watching Dan, while hearing the narrative of jealous!Dan, bottom!Dan, younger-boy Dan, Phil Trash #1, stalking him, fangirling, etc., etc. All of which paint a picture of Dan pursuing Phil, looking up to Phil, being dependent on Phil, etc.

When I started watching Phil's videos, and their early collabs, I was pretty confused, because that narrative didn't jibe with what I saw on the screen. The narrative of Phil being totally smitten with Dan made a lot more sense. Of course, by this time, I had encountered the vday vid narrative--which has Phil falling completely in love with Dan--so that no doubt shaped what I saw. What I think is interesting to bear in mind is that even if the vday vid narrative is fake, it's still the one he/they came up with. And there's actually quite a narrative in that video. It's not just a litany of events that can be verified through social media: it starts with clawing and biting and several emotional milestones later ends with a simple "I love you".

So that's my Valentines Day mush, I guess, and I'm glad they did the Pastel Edits video to reinforce it for me .

To me atm, and I say it with all my love, Phil looks to have the stereotypical skinnyfat physique. But I shall root for him!

Also, Mark just put out a pretty epic interactive adventure even if he did fuck it up a bit and that just reminded me how much i miss Phil's ones, the production quality at the time was nothing to write home about but the creativity was immense

Since we're talking about disappointment, I'm here to confess that I thought that the latest Sims video was a complete snoozefest. Boring and unmemorable. Everyone seemed to be positive about it when it was released so I didn't comment at the time thought maybe I had just watched it in a bad mood but I watched it again yesterday morning and it's still a no from me. The domestic child care shit was fine, but Dil's job is boring and their bantz or any cuteness couldn't save it. Sims is a frustrating series for me, some episodes are absolute gems (like the one before this one) but some are just.. not good.

One thing that annoyed me in Pastel Edits though was Dan muttering something about philosophers. All his knowledge about existentialism comes from reddit, it seems. Nothing bad with self education, but the way he blurts out the little knowledge he has makes me want to lightly smack him on the back of his head. His whining has nothing to do with philosophy. The worst part is, I don't know if he's aware of it.

lol sometimes his comments remind me of undergrad philosophy majors trying to act cool even though they're at a frat party drinking low-grade beer.

But in a general sense, I I kinda feel it's just something he naturally has sartre or camus or someone rattling around in the back of his mind. Roughly 30 seconds into his draw my life vid he mentions his mother has a philosophy degree so he must have grown up hearing a lot of casual references to this kind of thinking, and at least some of his beliefs (ex: his opinions on luck) were most likely formed over time b/c he's genuinely interested and isn't just him pretending to be a philosophical theorist after reading one wikipedia article or someone's half-formed opinion on the internet (we all know people like that).

And like, when someone's genuinely interested in a topic and think about it a lot it's easy to relate it to a convo no one else feels it fits...like sometimes I make lame econ jokes or reference econ-related things and everyone else's unamused and will be all like "that has nothing to do with Beyonce, MJ, what're ya even on about"

and of course these kind of statements in vids are partly to keep continuity with the dinof channel, but I don't think they're as disingenuous as it sometimes could seem also why did I write so much about this idek

speaking of which, I just rewatched his draw my life vid and I am SO MAD I wasn't there for the discussion when it posted, there's just SO much to take away from it; the way he talks about how his personality changed as he grew up, the examples he gives of how he was insulted in primary school, the fact that his stick figures look so much better than mine and my job is literally just writing on a white board

+1. And I think in this context "AmazingPhil" is the channel, which dan might see as a different entity than phil the person, like how you would say "I just filmed an episode for BBC" instead of "with BBC."

I love your ideas! I'm always confused too because their relationship (friendship, romantic, arch-enemies Lego BatmanxJoker style) has never seemed one-sided to me. like for example sure, Dan may talk about Phil a lot, but at the same time Phil's entire camera role is basically just different pictures of Dan

Also phil does look awesome in the vid (what else is new lol) but I'm not sure he's becoming swol or anything, it feels more like his shirt compliments his body better than the button-ups that're slightly too tight once he buttons up to his chin, or some of his t-shirts which sometimes fit him a little weird?

So like let me get this straight...it's a teen murder mystery drama based off characters from Archie, the after-school-special-esque comics whose popularity peaked in the 1960s? How did this get made? Why do I kinda want to watch it now?
