It was such a cute game, I wish they would have play it a little longer.

That time cut after Dan laughed about the contact lense, I wonder what happen because he looked actually concerned afterwards when he asked him to look down. And then he kept looking at him while he was leaving. *sighs*

I don't know what it is but lately Phil has been looking more and more good looking.

My selfish (and anxious because there are risks and a former friend's grandmother had a failed surgery and was left with one blind eye and one with only 1% sight ) side doesn't want Phil to get laser eye surgery and just have him wear his glasses every day. It's not that bad, I wear glasses 99% of the time I spend awake and it's annoying sometimes but I think I look better with glasses. And so does Phil, even though he always looks good Come to the glasses side, Philly :geek:

Other than that, pretty average video. I like all their gaming videos, even their #spon ones, but this one was one of those I have no strong feelings about. I also don't think this game was made for Phil, we all know how horrendous his reaction speed is.

I mean how long ago was that surgery? Complications are super rare these days. Anyway I love Phil in glasses but as someone who hates wearing them (granted I am so so so much blinder that Phil, -12 club represent) I can't in good faith force him. I would get the surgery in a blink if I could

I love how they just left in the whole part with dan ranting about phil getting laser eye surgery though, very reminiscent of his live shows.

I think it also had to do with reaching the 10 minute mark for more ads, seeing as the video is exactly 10.01 long

just rewatched and dan really looks concerned, felt like a genuine reaction, especially after he laughed and then after a cut went into serious helpful dan mode. also yes to phil looking more good looking. then the glasses appearance at the end.

Petition to change the forum name to In Depth Contact Lens because that was the real star of this video. Aside from that and Dan's weird little diva moment about the iPad (y'all still use the same damn camera why does the iPad matter??) being his it was a truly uninteresting video.

Kinda.. D&P have reached the highest point of their YouTube careers a while ago and it's only natural that a fandom slowly fizzles out when the peak is over. I'm currently seeing lots of younger phannies jumping into the kpop abyss for boy groups like BTS and Seventeen, especially on Twitter. So I still have to deal with them.

[offtopic]Yeah, I know but I'm generally anxious about surgeries. Just the thought of someone having the control over you and, in that case, your eyesight worries me so much. I've never had surgery and try to avoid doctors (I was hit by a car once and just went home limping for months until it eventually got better on its own). As you can see, I am rather weird, so knowing a real life example of a person that had a laser eye surgery that failed, no matter when it was, freaks me out even more. So that's why the thought of Phil having that surgery makes me feel a bit anxious as well [/offtopic]

Yep. Without the contact lens conveniently falling out, pretty lacklustre. Phil didn't stand a chance, both gaming- and contact-wise. I've played fast-moving apps while wearing contacts so I feel his pain. Piano Tiles 2 is brutal on the eyes.

The contact lens part truly stood out but so did the 'my iPad' comment by Dan. The way Phil laughed afterwards makes me think they have jokes/squabbles like this over things at home. Considering they practically share everything else, this is hilarious and cute

Also at 5:11 when Dan's just being so impossibly extra about his high score, and Phil just lets him for more than 10 seconds, with nothing but fondness and its just lovely and beautiful.

Ah the game was nothing special, but these boys made me love it all the same.

It's only natural for a fandom to fizzle out, but their videos continue to get millions of views, so I don't think it's something to be concerned about.

i loved that video!!! dumb ways to die was my game all throughout last year, so it was hilarious to see them play it. i wanted to see them watch the music video, though. it was pretty surprising that they left that contact lenses bit in the video even if it was probably to make up the 10 mins, although they could have also done that to quell the tide of 'no!1 glasses plz!!' from the phandom if/when phil gets laser surgery.

i'm all in for deppy leaving in more softness and affection for us to see. damn, that was really heartwarming. that jumpcut from dan laughing then to being genuinely concerned haunts me

the people i follow on tumblr are still pretty active, so it depends on who you're following, although 'dying' seems a bit overdramatic. fandoms tend to ebb and flow, and god knows i've jumped fandom to fandom in the past decade than i can keep track of, but i always come back to my core fandoms.

That video gave me flashbacks to high school when 'Dumb Ways to Die' was everywhere, since (fun fact) it was created as a campaign to encourage safety around trains in my city. I never knew it was popular worldwide, the more you know!

If I'm honest, I found this video really boring and, as others have said, the contact lens incident and Dan's subsequent rant about laser eye surgery saved it for me. I'm not too mad though, they upload so frequently these days and this is the first video they've uploaded since Happy Wheels that I've found boring, so I'm not complaining.

Agreed, I used to find that Dan sometimes outshone Phil in videos as it felt like Phil was holding back a bit, but I've just found him so entertaining and compelling and genuine lately

literally i heard about that attack in london and the first thing i thought of was deppy? i'm trash i was in a chinese food buffet when it came on tv, so when i saw it i turned to my mom and said "i hope my babies are ok" (dan and phil) and she was like oh, dan and phil? and i was like yeah, and she smiled and rolled her eyes.

I'm sorry, but what? I know this is from yesterday, but I just caught up and... I can't. I know I'm feeling quite bitter and disillusioned with everything today and I know posting this is not the best idea, but I just feel so angry about this. It's perfectly fine and reasonable to worry about your faves, and this is a forum about Dan and Phil, but actual people died in this attack, and many more have been gravely injured. I think there's a certain level of respect that needs to be taken into account while talking about these kind of events but when you turn it into an opportunity to talk about how ~trash~ you are I'm really not seeing it. I'm sorry if this feels like a direct attack and I'm probably going to regret posting this, but please try to be more careful about how you phrase things in the future.

I think the makeup experts around here have determined that they definitely do, and that they use the same bottle/shade which isn't exactly right for either of them.

(Edit, because I'm an idiot and thought you were talking about tatinof, not dapg, next paragraph is basically irrelevant.) Yes, they do, I don't think you can do a stage show without it. You'd look horrible in the spotlight. Isn't there even footage of Dan getting his stage make-up done?

I don't really think they look that tired. Keep in mind they've got a bright light shining directly at them whilst filming which might make eye bags look worse than they would look "irl". It also makes them look horribly pale when they aren't in their instagram pics etc. I'm not sure but I think it's their lighting that makes them look tired and washed out - or at least it amplifies the effect a lot.

I liked the new video but not as much as the others. The contact lens incident made me rethink getting contact lenses myself, that looked painful. But I love that they left it in even if they really did it to get the video past the 10 minute mark. Dan's little rant and making himself as a bean was really cute. My favourite part was probably right in the end when Phil came back and Dan went "Why are you sitting down?", making Phil fetch the board.

I just got a chance to watch the new video and I liked it a lot and instant-rewatched. And I thought I'd actually post that so there's some variety of opinion. The game was really easy to watch and not too stressful which is what I was in the mood for.

Them gasping in unison over the cracked iPad was adorable, I may have replayed it a bunch of times.
I cracked up when Phil got run over by the train (sentences that sound bad out of context).
And I swear Dan's cursed to lose instantly the second he starts bragging about how great he is; it happened in Yasuhati too.

Obviously the whole Phil-contact, Dan-left-alone-to-waffle debacle was entertaining (poor Phil), and I think for me that's because gaming channel videos can get pretty formulaic, so I like when they go in unexpected directions.
