After several re-watches of the new crafts video, I've just noticed that during Phil's squeezing of the green paint bottle, he not only sprays some onto Dan's arm, he also manages to get some on his Illuminati shirt. Now that I've seen it I can't unsee it for the rest of the video and if that had been me I would have run off to go clean it asap...

So funny that you mention David Lynch because I was thinking the exact same thing! I'm currently watching Twin Peaks and the backwards "protip" reminded me so much of the backwards speaking in Agent Cooper's dream. [If you've seen Twin Peaks you'll know what I mean. If not then basically a character has a dream in which people speak backwards and then its played backwards to sound like real words. Creepy stuff.]secretagentphan wrote:Okay I was not expecting much with the new Dan and Phil crafts video but that was SO GOOD. I live for twisted shit like this lmao. The whole thing was SO David Lynch to the point where I'd be shocked if it wasn't lowkey inspired by the style of his movies (but obviously in a more funny way hahaha!) I'd actually be surprised in general if Phil didn't know/like him since he's super into horror and they have a very similar brand of "weird" (I'm talking about Phils darker weird stuff in the past more than his usual weird stuff, which I also love)
Tonight I watched a couple of particularly frightening episodes and I kept telling myself "I could handle this kind of stuff when Dan and Phil did it, so I can handle it now!!"
I think part of the reason why there's a David Lynch vibe is because of the acting. I feel like David Lynch purposefully shows bad acting in order to make the audience unsettled. Phil has probably gotten some inspiration from that. I could plop Phil right into Mulholland Drive and no one would even notice the difference

I rewatched the new vid, and I just noticed that Phil used his DAPG voice for the first few minutes, until it slowly transforms into the DAPC one ._. Also, it seems like that on the first DAPC vid, they're slowly descending into madness, and on the second one, they're trying to get away from it (mostly Dan, since it seems to affect him more), and on the third... they descended. I know I'm over-analyzing this, but on the third vid, Phil said, "You have come a long way, Daniel" (around 6:58), which kinda implies that Phil already descended into madness far earlier than Dan (because Dan fought it even when Phil accepted it already, and Phil watched Dan's progress). Also, the line, "Chopping things fills me with good memories" implies that they already did rituals before the ritual in the video... ._.
...I'm sorry not sorry
(I'll force my friends to watch this, no matter how much they're not interested in Deppy.)

Finally watches the craft video. I definitely think it was the best one yet.
Deppy in Louise's new vlog. From around 25 minutes. Watching Dan in other people's vlogs makes me realise that he is as socially awkward as he says he is. Had me laughing out loud several times in the couple of minutes he was there.
It was from the YouTube meeting they went to with Susan.

"You can't just pull it out and put it in without a plan." Dan Howell 2015
I love the new DAPC video so much! The slightly unsettling bits were my favorite parts of the two former videos and I'm so glad they went all out and wrapped it all up with the perfect finale.
I agree that Phil's kind of humor and the lines he delivers really stand out. But I also loved both their acting in this. Dan with the kind of disconnected gaze only to throw subtle satan hints that you only really get when rewatching the video now and then. And Phil as the "hell version" of his persona that's so wonderfully over the top cheerful and intimidating. The way Dan looks like he's in another world while Phil rambles on, I love the contrast between the two. But the best part is definitely when Dan starts stamping Phil's forehead and hands and everything spirals into madness. Phil's expressions during the ritual part are incredible.
I've been thinking about how the three parts go together and I think probably the first time they did it the joke was merely supposed to be "haha, now that we have a gaming channel, crafting is next, here is a intentionally shitty video of us cutting paper" and when they decided to continue it next year they had to add some kind of different layer and storyline to make it a good april fools video again, so they went for the creepy vibes and editing that's influenced a lot by the first DHMIS. Also I noticed that around 2:41 in the glitter faces video there is a loud knock just like in this year's video, and I've been wondering what it's supposed to mean before. Now it makes sense... Have they been setting up the satan summoning plot a year ago already?? I'm impressed.
Also Phil says "It's our 1733th video together" anybody got an idea about the meaning of that number? is it another satanic thing? My google search came up with nothing.

^ I just took it as the number of videos they would have completed in this alternate reality, had they uploaded twice or even thrice a day. (365x2) + (366 x 2) = 1462 if they uploaded twice every day from April 1st 2015-2017. Add another 365 (if they uploaded 3 times a day in 2015) and it's 1827, which is too much.mio wrote:Also Phil says "It's our 1733th video together" anybody got an idea about the meaning of that number? is it another satanic thing? The first result that came up for me is that 1733 is also "The Angel Number", and the description sounds eerily like Dan and Phil trying to please Satan.
Source: http://sacredscribesangelnumbers.blogsp ... uote]Angel Number 1733 suggests that you have chosen the right course of action and are travelling well along your life path. Your clear connection with the angels is ensuring a strong channel of communication and you are receiving Divine guidance every step of the way. You are encouraged to continue on your current path as the angels support you in your quest.
Angel Number 1733 is a message from your angels that you are being commended and applauded for your efforts as your successes are inspiring, helping and teaching others. Allow the flow of positive abundance to shower down upon you as your creative energies have been activated and you are being asked to express yourself with joy and enthusiasm.
Angel Number 1733 reminds you that you have an important soul mission to fulfill and the angels encourage you to seek further spiritual knowledge and wisdom so that you are able to incorporate it into your daily life. Your thoughts, words and actions create your level of consciousness. Empower yourself by tapping into your intuitive abilities and develop your spiritual awareness. You are an ever-changing being, and with a shift in consciousness you can alter the course of your life, bringing it to its full potential.[/quote]

Just watched, seems Dan is more awkward than Phil in these kind of situations, but i'm sure it's been discussed that Phil seems to be more outgoing socially. I feel Dan though, I'm the same, if I had a camera in my face I'd go completely weird and try and hide. Glad they all seemed to have a good time, it's weird seeing Dan and Phil with Joe and Alfie and those other lot (I hope that's their names - I don't watch them) good to see they seem comfortable with Louise though.Kathrynxjane wrote:Finally watches the craft video. did Dan just say they haven't seen each other in "like a month"? Does that mean they actually meet up outside of these formal situations? I think it goes to show that they don't meet up a lot but certainly a lot more than they would vlog it. I'm also surprised by how awkward but relaxed Dan is around Louise, he must be the only person I see him speak to with a certain amount of comfort that he would only show around Phil.lishachi wrote:Just watched, seems Dan is more awkward than Phil in these kind of situations, but i'm sure it's been discussed that Phil seems to be more outgoing socially. Just wanted to echo what everyone else has said about how fantastic the Crafts video was! It's exactly my kind of humour, I cried laughing.
When we were teenagers, me and 2 of my brothers used to do these little sketches for everyone at family gatherings with the same vibe (we're a weird family I guess!) and watching the vid it literally felt like I was watching something my brothers had put together.
Also watching Dan in Louise's vlog made me think again how much he reminds me of one of my brothers, it's honestly uncanny - their voice and mannerisms and humour are identical, I want them to meet so I can prove it haha.

In Louise's vlog at 26:29 Dan makes an off-hand and really unimportant "funny" comment and Louise asks him if he wants it edited out, so that's definitely a courtesy they share with each other.
But just after that, I had to laugh because, OF COURSE, share a chair Even youtube ships it.

I am not surprised at all by the fact that they shared a chair, but it is still amusing.BisexualShoeMarriage wrote:I have yet to watch the vlog but at the seating arrangements. And I do think that Dan and Louise have a good rapport. Hope they'll collab again soon, because those are always great.

Just popping in for a moment to mention the Crafts vid. I loved how it devolved into weird creepiness. And the old school, super soft focus / fuzz filter. Well done.
Also, a note about Dan's shirt / fashion at the YouTube meetup. Although his color palette was not unexpected, the price level of the garment: good choice. There's no need to buy obscenely expensive clothing to make a fashion statement. I approve.

I think 20 years ago would be Sunday school at age 5/6. Actually, it would almost certainly have been much more fun in Sunday school than in church, assuming they went on concurrently, which was how my church did it.lishachi wrote:Oh dear. If a Sunday school teacher really did send him a message, I hope he didn't offend them by not reading it (as he said in a reply--but maybe that part was fake, who knows). What I mean to say is, Sunday school teachers are generally perfectly nice people.

Dan replied that he wasn't facebook friends with them so tbh I'm not surprised dan's leaving the message unread, I wouldn't know what to say in this situation to someone I haven't seen in 20 years. Ignoring them aint the mature thing to do, but sure is the easiest
Mostly off topic, but I wonder if deppy ever have people from their past reach out to them just because they're "famous?"
Also, penguin video today hopefully?
