Not sure if any people watch Markiplier here, but he got a question regarding butter gluttons in his latest Reading Your Comments video.

RE: Voldy; still haven't watched it and don't want to either. When I googled about it for the first time (trying to find out what "that video" was that everyone was talking about and not talking about), I found a transcript on tumblr and closed it after reading the first line because I felt SO uncomfortable. Anyone else feel that way?

Was procrastinating and was about to rewatch Phil's latest video, when I realized it hasn't hit a million views yet. Was curious about the state of the other videos they uploaded recently, and found that the last 4 gaming channel videos also haven't reached a million views either. Usually before, in a week, the views would have already reached 1 million. What do you think is causing this difference in views? Are people just losing interest? or is it because they've been uploading a lot recently so the urge to rewatch is less because there's more content? Or is it because we've been blessed with more Deppy things outside of their videos, that we have less interest in their videos now? These are the ones that I think that could be reasons for the decline in views, though I'm not really sure.

I think it's what you said about the urge to re-watch. Now the phandom isn't starving for content, people are re-watching less. I'd say I'm re-watching less. I don't think this is a bad thing, I bet their total views are still up, as most of the gaming vids are still clearing 1 million reasonably quickly. I can't imagine too many phans following their content on twitter etc, but not watching their videos, so I don't think that's it, especially because their videos are so lovely these days.

I saved it, opened it, played about one second and then closed it never to re-open. I made it further than you, though I'd already read the transcript and was able to do that without difficulty. I don't know what stopped me watching it; whether it was guilt about intruding on something so private, or that I found it sappy? I just know I felt instantly uncomfortable.

I'm surprised the latest AP video hasn't gone over a million views yet...I think I've re-watched it at least 5 times!

Just looking at the last 4 gaming videos, they're not among my favourites and I've only re-watched the bomb disposal one. Interestingly, the third Horse Prince video from 2 months ago and the second Mark of Oxin video are also still below a million views.

I've only seen the actual video once and it was really early on when I'd just started becoming a fan. I've no desire to see it now as it would make me feel really uncomfortable as I do think that it's real and not a prank. I've read the transcript and also the lengthy analysis which has informed my opinion about it.

Could it be to do with the time of year? Is it finals for high schools in the US/UK/Europe? It's still only the middle of the academic year in Australia but am I correct in saying the northern hemisphere would be finishing up right about now? Maybe people are busy with finishing up the school year, so haven't had as much time to rewatch videos.

Thinking about myself though, I haven't been rewatching videos as frequently as I used to - and I have no idea why. My interest in them definitely isn't waning, so I'm guessing it's just because they're uploading so frequently or maybe also that things have been so great for them lately that I feel pretty content. Who knows

Intrigued for Dan's video later! I've been pretty convinced that he went to the Bahamas to extend his visa, but I'm excited to find out for sure what he was up to.

I think they're just posting more regularly. More content means less rewatching previous videos, from dedicated phans - but it means a lot more casual viewers watching every video. But they're definitely not losing money, or losing views overall.

In May 2016 they posted two videos for the entire month on DAPG, and even though both of those videos did hit over two million, combined they're still only at 4,196,068 views for that whole month.

May 2017 isn't even over and so far for the month, they have 5,044,494 views on DAPG. I'm quite sure we'll get at least one more video, possibly two more before the month is over and if both of those get even 800k views (which is a minimum their videos all hit) that'll put them at well over six million views for May 2017 without even considering that the other ones will still continue to get views and may eventually a pass a million.

My daughter is in the middle of GCSEs at the moment and I know that she has loads of videos saved in her watch later list from her favourite youtubers, as well as a list of shows to watch on Netflix when she's free again next month!

I saw the lower views! I'm doing my GCSE's right now (procrastinating in my free class from revising for my maths and ICT exams tomorrow) and I thought it may be because of that, and also due to the sheer amount of content that's being released.

RE: Voldy - I have the video in an email I sent to myself so that it couldn't get deleted from any laptop. I've watched it a few times and I cried every time aha, I'm a sucker for love stories - and Dan and Phil's flirting really heart warming back then.

One of the reasons I don't feel they were trying to appeal to the audience of girls who like to watch straight guys kiss is because... well, they didn't kiss. Unless they were incredible at marketing and wanted to create a more PG version of the regular "bi boys" then I can't see it being fake.

I wonder more why he went through the effort of adding music to the clip - could have just muted it if he didn't want to show the audio? Importing the video on a computer, adding sound and exporting it just to show a random casual moment seems like a lot of effort?

Hey guys! First of all i just want to say I hope everyone who was involved in the Manchester attack on Monday are doing ok, its been an horrific couple of days hearing all the news coming in. My son is approaching the same age as the youngest victim and it breaks my heart. So glad this forum is here to help take people's mind of the horrible things.

i never travel without my laptop even if i don't intend on using it on my trip. i don't think it's totally out of the question that dan would consider doing a ls from florida to make up for the lack of videos. guess we'll have to wait for the video tonight to see where it's filmed!

Filming a video in Florida seems like the type of thing that "Daniel Howell" would do, mostly because it confirms he was with Phil's family for all the people who haven't been following the whole thing on twitter. Maybe it's the next step in the "not caring and relaxing" plan
